Google Flashing Samsung Epic to Alternat Carriers. I believe you need a donor phone from that carrier.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
Who are you looking to go to? Just curious.
I thought I read some where that this phone can use cricket...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA
mine even flashed to a carrier outside US called Smart-Telecom, sometime can be buggy, but as long as you flashed correctly everything should be working.
I know I've seen posts from people who have flashed their epic to work on Boost or Cricket.

Our epic's use CDMA technology, theoretically, they could be reprogrammed to work on any CDMA Carrier given that the following is done.
#1 The Carrier allows adding ESNs to their database, thus you'll get working talk and text.
(You'll have to manually know the rest of the programming to each carrier and input the missing values. Not to mention some companies make it even tougher by hardcoding things into the framework-res)
#2 The carrier does NOT allow adding of ESNs to which you'll then need to drop more bills, buy a donor phone that you can read its values from, and port that to your epic.
It is not a guarantee that all CDMA carriers will work with 100% things functioning correctly, thus not all carriers go through the trouble of doing OTA programming to phones that aren't natively theirs. Although some do at least give you the needed programming settings, you may get lucky and find guides that other people have wrote up that are tedious, but good to follow. Cutting you the hours of work it took to write the guides, just so you can follow it with everything working in like 30 mins of your own time.

Does sprint have the imei problem

I've been ignoring it all this time cause I was on stock and I thought imei were a GSM version of esn and sprint phones didn't have them
Can someone tell me the effect of having no imei on a sprint phone and how it happens
Thx
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
sprint and cdma phones don't use imei numbers. so no there is no imei bug
That's what I thought but if you go to settings>about device>status we have an imei number
But thanks for telling me it don't matter
Now I can go on a flashing spree with no concerns

Sprint does have IMEI numbers but they don't use them like the evo lte, you might loose it but you won't problems connecting to the network a verizon guy loss his but still connected to network lte like normal
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
If you lose your IMEI you will probably not be able to connect to LTE. 3G and everything else should work, but I'm pretty sure LTE will not.
I say this because LTE is a GSM technology, which is why I think we have IMEI on our phones in the first place. I haven't heard of anyone that reported the bug yet on Sprint, though.

Wrong section mate, this is for i9100. I think you belong here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1300
Why do people keep asking questions of Epic 4G touch in the i9100 forum? Moved to correct forum.
Did you unlock the phone with the spc or general Samsung unlock code?

I just took it to the phones service , and they unlocked it , it's now unlocked and i'm able to use my country CDMA carrier (phone calls , SMS) .
I just called CDMA carrier provider and they provided me username and password for EVDO , but EVDO default sprint values are keeping back after each change using QPST .

Take a look again at chris41g's post. That should set you in the right direction.
Might also want to look at his guide to flash over to Boost - just replace boost info with your carrier.

I just used CDMA ws to modify EVDO username and password , 3g is still not working , I feel it doesn't write changes to ROM as QPST , values changed , but when i went to qpst i found changes are there then i tried to re-enter the password , once i did i got the sprint settings back .
how can i solve it ?

Undo Flash to Boost

My Galaxy S3 had been flashed to work on Boost Mobile. I found this out when I went to Sprint the other day. So, how do I go about flashing it back to work in Sprint?
( I have flashed the Stock ROM and still no result.)
Chances are the phone is blacklisted on Sprint. Normally when a flash is done in cdma workshop a backup can be made of all prior settings of the old carrier. I'd talk to the guy you got the phone from and see if he has a backup or get your cash back.

You seem to know a lot about flashing. I need to learn. Any help available?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I don't do flashing. I've had phones flashed. I just buy bad esn phones off ebay. But they would always give me a backup of the phones prior settings if I wanted to revert it back to what it was.

The phones are not "flashed" to boost they are CLONED to boost.
now this cloning usually uses a SPRINT ESN so the ESN under your battery is "NOT" very likely the ESN programmed into the phone
FIND THIS (is there an app to list your esn??)
goto sprint.com/activate and "try it" from their and see if it will let you activate the phone using the ESN programmed into the phone
if no then you need to get it "cloned" again with a good valid sprint ESN (usually $50 to $100)

I downloaded an app to find out what my ESN is and it turns out that it's not the same as the one on my phone's sticker. You mentioned cloning, how woukd I do that?
I have no clue. I wish I knew how would save me $100 every time I do it
I use it to get desired handsets working on boost or sprint (nothing nefarious) but am clueless how to do it. I can root and rom only because explicit instructions are available to help with that
I can't even dream of how they clone them. his hands just go did dah keyboard goes woop wahh and bingo bango its done
You need cdma workshop to undo this

You need the cdma workshop i have to do the same thing but i put mine on boost and now selling it and he can use on sprint.some sell it like that because of a bill and cant be turned on with sprint so they go else where.

more than CDMA workshop you need to have RECORDED the information you "over wrote" when you cloned it to boost.

[Q] help plz,no mobile conection.

hello, everyone. I bought L900 from ebay, then when i got it, i began to change it,i use the i605's sim chip to take place the default, then i began to use note2 tool kit to flash the insecure stock lj1 to the phone, then the recovery, and i use the recovery to flash the ljc moden and an avkp8's rom,now I use dfs to set the ruim config to ruim only and the set the data pap an ppp account, last change the mobile ip.then reboot the phone (I have successfully change the five l900s to adjust our country's mobile network, this time i do the same job) but i found it could recognize the gsm and wcdma‘s network, i counldn't see the cdma's signal only when i insert the cdma uim card, the signal display like a circle and rod.but in phone's info i found the esn and sid prl could be read out( i have set the network automatic),just like sth prevent it to connect the mobile network.
then I use the root66's stock alj1's rom to restore the phone use ##786#, then i use cdmaworkshop to write cdma parameter to the phone, still no cdma network, the signal display like before, I have check the TOP Q&A,and sb no network connection’s way they always say stock rom restore, but it doesn't work, what can i do now?:crying::crying::crying::crying:
1. this is illegal and cannot be discussed on xda.
2. why dont you just buy i605s in eBay instead of a phone that isn't designed for international use nor sim card use

l900 cheaper than i605 but configuration is same.so the reason is very simply.
may i ask how can i reset all NV item. and why i see sb say change the meid and phone lock?
No promises on whether or not it'll work for your situation but you can try ##72786# in the dialer. And this isnt illegal. And I'm pretty sure sewing as how there are guides here showing u how to do this that its allowed to be discussed

Unlocking bootloader (rooting phones) is actually illegal. Since last year. So we all kinda "broke the law" by unlocking our device's. Read itt on flipboard last year. I dont know if it still applies
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
I have read nothing saying rooting saw illegal. Only unlocking. Unlocking being carrier unlocking.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
hi,I don't want to talk about how to hack the phone,I just want my phone normal using. so i really want to know how to recovery the nv item ,i just want the network connection come back when i use cdma frequence (800-900 mhz). And why the mobile network gone, even if i write back the first parameter.
