HTC Medialink HD - HTC One X

Hi Ho all,
I just got a HTC Medialink HD. I actually tricked the Mrs into getting it for me so she can watch Catalan TV3!
Just one question, in mirror mode, when watching online tv, like TV3, can you turn off the screen and have the app still running?

I've often wondered this myself!

I don't think you can, but there's an app that requires root that will turn the back light off 100%, only works with lcd devices like the one x
Screen standby its called

Use an app called wakelock on the play store and select the first option "PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK"

Click to collapse
Just change the sleep setting to never in display menu.

NO that does not work
Not being rude but if you want just the audio why not convert them to an audio file? Then you can just turn the screen off.
There loads for windows/mac/linux and even a few for android.

yeah that is one solution but i really want to know how to turn off the screen with video still playing, cause i dont want to have both audio and video files separately for the same media file
This app has a play in background option which should be what you're looking for

Heat

Hi just got my one x. She's getting hot a lot. Might be a stupid question but is it possible to turn two of the cores off? As I said might be a stupid question

The problem isnt that all your cores are turned on, but the heat is because only 1 of your cores are turned on. Please go to google play, type into search "hidden settings", download the app, then in the newly created power saver settings (its between the apps) turn off the second option (decrease speed of the CPU, or something like that, my app isnt english) and now you will have a colder but faster HOX

Application monitor

Just a question. I see on the HTC one X+ and i saw it on HTC one SV. application monitor by the battery tab. How come it is not on the htc one x. It looks very useful to see if an app uses to much energy.
