Blurry Picture content while browsing?! - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey peeps,
I am not sure if it's only me but somehow when I browse pictures on the Internet via chrome or various apps almost every pic looks blurry. Any ideas why?

Do you have a screen protector on?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium

I'm assuming that's Chrome BETA. I have the same problem and I believe that it's a known issue.
Stick with regular Chrome or wait for them to fix it.

No. No screen protector.

You only got that problem with Google Chrome? Or stock browser as well?

I get it in Chrome BETA, not any other browsers. It's most noticeable when scrolling and it affects both pictures and text... like double vision or something.
I was thinking that if the problem you are having is just low-quality images showing, then that could be caused by an app like Onavo Extend, which compresses web photo's to save bandwidth and at the same time lowering their quality. Are you using Onavo?
Is it possible to get a screenshot of the exact problem you're having?

Scrolling issues in browser

Okay so its very annoying I'm running running he latest omega v7.3 now but its happened on a few other ROMs as well unless it has to do with 4.1.2 but anyways while in the browser it happens a lot when scrolling with ONE finger my thumb sometimes it zooms in or zooms out for no reason like I put another finger on the screen when I didn't. Anyone know what this issue is?

ROFL
This is because you holding it with one hand & it touches the screen from two points, 1 your thumbtip. 2 your thumb base
So when you scroll it looks like you are zooming in or out
Happened with me but i figured out why is it happening by taking side view when holding it with one hand
Hope i helped you

This confused me lots when I first installed 4.1.2. I thought the touchscreen was playing up and not registering my input correctly. Then I finally realised it was zooming on the edges of the screen. Very useful when using the S Pen otherwise just a little annoying. It would be good if it could be enabled only when the pen is out.
Does it only happen on 4.1.2?

Yes only with 4.1.2. It is browser feature which is really useful especially using with one hand

Any way to disable edge-zooming in the stock browser

It drives me insane when I'm using the device one-handed and trigger this "feature" when I scroll near the edge of the screen...
Same here especially when trying to bring up the quick controls.
Same here on international version

There seems to be no option. The browser itself is one of the best stock browsers I've ever used. But I want to punch sammy in the throat at times for not allowing that to be turned off.

I agree I would also like it to be disabled. The other big annoyance in the stock browser is the double tap to zoom doesn't work (over zooms every time - naturally you have to be in desktop view to see this). There is a setting to alter it but it doesn't help. Firefox works correctly but I end up using the stock browser most of the time and just pinching.
I no longer have this problem. I was stock AT&T, then rooted, then running International ROM with a stock browser that doesn't have the edge zooming. Yes, it did annoy me when I had it.
Wow! You're right! I also changed to a different rom a while back but kind of forgot about the problem. I thought I was being more careful I guess. No! I forgot only because the problem was gone and didn't notice! Yet another reason to get off stock! Great info, big

huh?
No movement on this topic I guess. This feature drives me nuts as well but I don't want to go to a different rom to resolve it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Well you can also use a different browser - plenty of choices out there...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
This actually occurs on the stock browser as well as other third party browsers...

The new update eliminates that irritating "feature"!

Yep happy to say that the latest 4.1.2 update removed this annoying behavior.
Indeed. I guess they realized it was more of a pain.

Which browser is best?

Just curious to see what people are using for a browser?

Dolphin BETA. Hands down the best.
Chrome is my favorite. Syncs with all my desktop Chrome bookmarks.

I recently started using the Firefox browser. It supports flash, ad block add on, and you can sync it with your computer like you can in chrome.

Yup +1 for FireFox...
Mac
I've been loving Chrome lately.
I've tried and installed most, my vote goes to dolphin beta for regular use, and Firefox beta for flash or online streaming.

Dolphin Beta does Flash too. Check my post history (too lazy to find link right now)...
Use chrome on my desktop, and it syncs my history and all. So predictive text and search history show up. Love it.

The stock browser is the fastest to me and it supports flash.
I have tried those popular ones. Chrome is a kind of my favorite with all power features but it's a bit slow. Dolphin is very good one in all around in any devices but still feel a little heavy. I love AOSP stock browser. You can find a flashable zip in somewhere this forum. I like it maybe because I like CM a lot, too. Controlling tabs is easiest I think.
Dolphin without a doubt

Stock browser. It consistently gets the lowest sunspider scores from the ones I've tried and the difference in loading speed is noticeable in real world situations as well, not just in the numbers.

Skype?

Anyone else having the issue where the front facing camera is super zoomed in and can't zoom out when using Skype?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem! It's very annoying. I know it's not supposed to be that way because it isn't zoomed in when viewing in the Camera app.
I would have thought it would have between fixed by now... But then again Skype is a Microsoft product now.

Same problem for me too.
Also installed Skype 4 from a white listed android phone and same problem.
Looks like it is fixed now.
