Here's a picture of self-made Xoom portfolio stand. I made the stand for my school time company so I can show my portfolio in the events and fairs.
Device goes inside the frame and then the backplate is screwed in the place. There's also a metal "loop" so I can attach the frame/device safely for example to the table.
I also made two holes: one for power button in the backside and second one in the bottom for charging cable.
Materials used: Colored oak, birch, MDF-board and some metal parts.
What do you think?
Pretty sweet! Very creative. Good Job. :good:
You taking orders?
Nice & creative

I've had a couple tonight, and saw this on a website for the Original DROID and then the DROID X. I figured why not make one for my Vibrant. All it takes is an extra wire clothes hanger and maybe a pair of pliers. Enjoy.
I know not the best of work, but not bad for already having a couple in me tonight.
DIY is the only way to go!
I added some stability to the back side of mine (right side) so that i can have my phone vertical or horizantal.
if you search amazon, i got a 2.00 earbud holder that doubles as a dock, it basically has a slot across it so you can set the phone to stand upright, and cheap to boot. It said it was made for the iphone, but works great with the vibrant.
I use something similar. We have some plate holders that fold closed. They are used to display decorative plates on our mantle. One less plate in the mantle. Nice because they are rubberized and fold closed. I pack it for vacations. You can probably find them at and Home Goods store. Anyplace that sells decorative plates.

Currently thinking about this one:

What are other folks using/thinking about using for Xoom schlepping? I'm looking for suggestions.
Lol.....i use this....fits perfectly and leaves room for other items you want to carry same as what you put up but diff manufacturer. http://www.target.com/SwissGear-Mon...m_age,price&searchRank=salesrank&frombrowse=1

Oh, that is beautiful. My current laptop bag is SwissGear, and it's the best piece of luggage I've ever owned. I didn't realize they sold sling packs.
I use my old N64 bag. Holds the Xoom charger just in case and my wii motes for Snesoid.
I'll probably just use my Swiss Gear backpack. It has a spot for my laptop which will probably work great for my XOOM as well, plus it has tons of pockets for cables and the charger. No Murse for me.
Swiss gear carry on bag is good. You can find them at Target.
The best "man bag" I've seen/used is the Tumi T-Tech Empire Deco Cross Bodyhttp://www.ebags.com/product/tumi/deco-cross-body/145382?productid=10106843&sourceID=GOOGFEED&couponid=95202659&CAWELAID=581326054
I recently flew to Europe and needed a small comfortable bag to carry my Ipad and other chargers/spare battery/passport/etc. This bag was perfect in that role.
I've tested and the Xoom with portfolio case fits just fine.
I just ordered a timbuk2 "classic messenger bag" extra small off amazon. Looks like terrific quality and reviews seem to indicate that as well. Just hope extra small still looks more like a messenger bag and not like a purse ;-)

Yea SwissGear is great. I can fit my Xoom (in the portflio case) and the charger with plenty of room for extras.
I am looking at the targus city gear 10.2 inch net book case. Any reason I shouldn't go for it?

Which one? I've researching them hard core since purchasing the xoom, and took a liking to the timbuk2 brand in particular...
I have been wanting a murse type of bag as well. I don't have a Xoom yet I am waiting on the wifi only version.
I am wondering if this bag would be large enough for the Xoom. A bit pricey but definitely manly! I have seen this mfg stuff in person and it sure looks durable, just haven't gotten to look at this version of the bag.

Check out the Patagonia Atom. It's my MURSE of choice.

I'm been using http://www.cocooninnovations.com/product_info.php?cat_id=50&product_id=172
for quite a while. The zip part is at the bottom, which is a little weird at first. But it's very lightweight and comes with a neat removable grid it organizer.
Also fits most 13" laptops easily.

I bought the one at target aswell its the swiss sling, Fits the xoom nicely in the main part of the bag. A little tight on the back pocket which still fits and the one I like to use.
its not a purse. its a satchel, Indiana Jones has one.

I couldn't see the point in an expensive case which may add lots of bulk and weight like the otter case. The above seem to do the job well. I feel i ccan take this to a meeting without looking like I'm carrying a gadget. It is well built covers everything has adjustable angles. Arrived quickley in the post. A nice magnet holds the flap in.camera seems free.only very minor gripe is that it willneed a small hole made for charging when closed. Anyhow I am veryhappy with it. This was much easier to type up using it .

Just bought the Xoom 2 Media Edition, and whilst I'm very happy with the tablet, the portfolio case is proving to be something of a letdown. Specifically it won't stay upright in the 'film watching' position; it just slides back and falls down :-(
Anyone else have any comments about this case?

The rubberised strips on mine are on the other side of the flap on the case... no wonder it doesn't work!

If I try to fold it like that, it sits completely vertically and just falls forward. Will have a bit more of a play with it...

Replacement case arrived from Motorola and... it stays upright now! The problem with the first case was definitely that the rubberised strips weren't... er... rubbery enough
The 'correct' way to stand it up is as I attempted in my video; it just requires a case that's not faulty ;-)
Sent from my Android phone
The bad news is that after a week, the replacement case also has lost its ability to stand up. My conclusion is: don't bother with this case if you want to use it to prop up the Xoom :-(
The rubbery strips on the case that should prop it up seem to be a major design flaw. Bad show, Motorola.

I just got the Motorola, case from heck, to work. I used foam double sided mounting tape. The kind used to hang light pictures on the wall without using nails.
2 x ½" x 1" strips put into each groove. The tape did not stick well to the textured case. I heated it a shot from a gas lighter (biggest trick in this hack). Zoom's metal case is highly polished and touches the strips in a line. It does not get glue on it and is not sticky removed from the groove.
I'm sure that the strips will need replacement but it takes about 1 minute and I got roll of tape from a $1 store for a couple of feet or tape.
Bad Asciii

Try to get the forward edge of tape to roll up the groove on the forward side but not high enough to touch the glass when the case is closed.

Could you please tell where did you buy this xoom 2 me case? Have an idea of it's sold in France too?

If you aren't happy with the case you got. I got one for my XOOM 2 10.1 that has multiple viewing angles, and it also detaches and can be rotated to multiple vertical angles.

The company I bought mine from ships internationally. Check out the link above.
Bought this case from eBay for 6.99 shipped. Fast delivery and great seller. It has a slide out kickstand that can be used for landscape or portrait viewing. The kickstand also doubles as a good grip for the phone. You slide your ring and middle fingers into the kickstand and u can reach entire front of screen without worry of dropping it. Cutouts for buttons and ports are good. All in all a great case for $7!

I have one of these on the way, pretty excited about it. One question though, does it lay flat on a surface on its back? I have the boxwave TPU case with a kickstand and they left the hinge popping out the back which really disappointed me.
I have this case as well. Very impressed with it. The phone does lay flat with the kickstand folded.
I ordered the original nillikin one in white, I was bangin my head for kickstand case and I decided to get this one..can't wait
I think we should merge it with the kickstand case thread, as this is also discussed there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1730833
Still using this case. I seem to use the kickstand everyday almost always. You don't realize how much you would use one until you have one. Still clips nice and no noticeable ware on clips that hold the kickstand.

i have this case as well, its excellent. The plastic doesn't feel cheap like you would think.
Putting your finger in there(1) makes it very comfortable and reliable for one handed use. I never feel like i might drop it like i do with other cases or naked(2).
1. Insert dirty joke of choice
2. Extend joke of choice
3. Buy this case
4. ????
5. Profit!
Still using it even a year later and still working great! Dropped my phone many times (back) with no issue.
