I'm on the latest whompasouras (2.5 I think?) And Google now keeps reverting to the oldest version.
I had this same issue before with other Google apps but the fix was just flashing latest gapps. Seeing how this isnt aosp I have no idea how to repair this. Any help?
After you update, what happens after you run an Integrate Updates of System Apps into ROM in TiBackup?*
*You'll need to reboot afterwards.

Backs up just fine. As soon as I reboot though its reverted and a update is available.

I didn't ask you to run a normal backup. Under Move/Integrate, run the Integrate batch. If it "doesn't stick" the first thing that comes to mind is that TiB doesn't have root....else something is hinky with your ROM install.

I just reinstalled the ROM but left Google now unchecked
I booted up and rebooted three times. No issues what so ever.

I have done a restore of all my apps a few days ago after a clean flash of Myns rom but none of my apps show in the market under my downloads so I believe that I am not getting the updates that I should. Like Skype app I know there was an update to that one but It shows that I done even have it is the market. Is there any way to fix this?

I run market doctor from TB (menu|more). This fixes some of the links, but not all. Then download something, anything from the market (then delete). You should be good to go.
My understanding is that GingerBread (2.3.x) will handle automatically restoring your apps after a wipe or you switch between ROM (each with clean wipe).
It asks about "backing up google".
I'm currently using MikG 0.5 and was using MikG RC1 for quite a while (since it was released 3 weeks?).
I was hoping starting with a fresh wipe it would restore my apps but it does not.
I think on one of these gingerbread ROMs (I've tried a bunch) I think it did partially restore apps. Not just paid ones. I forget if it was complete or not.
Is there something explicit you have to do to make this all work?

Because I don't like it. Recently I wanted to use it for a piece of software for TTS I bought and was no longer available in the Market. And it completely fell on it's face. All I did was copy the APK from system from a restored back up and it installed fine.
I also don't want to restore potentially incompatible apps. I assume Google will trigger Market to install latest right from the start.
I also don't have to explicitly choose what to back up and what to restore.
I've seen the Google Stuff work, and it works well when it works.

That's the problem. Honestly, TB can be complicated to use but what you're describing sounds like user error. You also don't have to explicitly choose what to backup and restore in TB either. Just go into Menu > Batch > Backup all user apps to backup and then Restore all user apps when you want to restore. Then just use the Market to update any out of date apps. It takes forever for the Market to get your apps back anyway, I always use TB and so does almost anyone else on a custom ROM.
Call me a purist, but I don't like Titanium Backup either. Granted, I don't use a ton of market apps, only about a dozen or so ... just not a problem. To get back to the original question, Google has always restored my apps on CM6/7, up to and including the 3-7 gapps. The newer gapps used with Android 2.3.4 are where everything began to break down.

I don't want to back it up like that. I think it causes problems.
I backed up this app explicitly, went to restore explicitly and it didn't work. Pretty Simple.
I'd like the google feature. I want something that coordinates with the mark app and installs the instead if the backup is old.

Good luck
I'd been using FF18 for quite a while without incident, but after upgrading to FI27 (not OTA, via the one-click method), Google Play is hanging the system immediately after successfully downloading and installing any given app. It puts me on the usual page allowing me to open the app, I press open, and wham, the system freezes until it reboots automatically about a minute later. The app that I installed then runs fine.
(In testing this several times, I should mention that one time I actually was able to open an app I just installed, but it hung about 10 seconds in, and the system rebooted as usual. It ran fine after that.)
I've searched around a bit for this and see that I'm hardly the first to encounter this issue. Sometimes it occurs when no recent update has been performed at all. Unfortunately, I haven't really found a solution yet. The best I've seen is to delete the data for Google Play and Download manager, and rebooting, which I've done to no effect. I've also tried uninstalling Google Play, but I think in this case that just leaves me with the same version that I had, the one that came with FI27 (in any case, that didn't help either).
How does one go about troubleshooting this type of problem? I suppose wiping out the phone and starting over would fix it, but I was hoping for more of a surgical rather than nuclear approach. After all, on a PC, you don't reformat when you have a problem with a program.
Have you tried wiping the data for google services framework?

I hadn't, but I did just now (there was just over 4MB there), along with a reboot following, and unfortunately it didn't help. Maybe Google Play services too, or something else?
Try deleting data for anything that says google play.

You stated you upgraded so I'm assuming you didn't do a fresh install. Even if you did do a fresh install, restoring data & apps from an older version could cause problems. You should try a fresh load and work your way back from there.
Edit: Saw you did the one-click. Still think you should try a full wipe and try it again with a fresh load to see how it goes.

Yes, I chose the nodata FI27, since it said that it was good for same-version or upgrades (in this case, ICS to ICS), but I will choose the nuke-from-space one if there's no way out of this, though wouldn't just resetting to factory defaults at this point do the same thing?
It's a little bit disturbing that an issue with one app, albeit an important (though not essential) one, can require wiping the phone. If this were to come up again for some reason, maybe just one day out of the blue and not related to putting on a new ROM, it would be nice to know a way out.
Perhaps I can grab a log from somewhere with ADB?

If you have a custom kernel with recovery make a backup. Or get one and do it and then do a full wipe and fresh load. That is the only way you'll know for sure.
Yes, I will, but I thought I'd live with it a while to see what I could learn.
I've found that opening the newly-installed app is not the issue: simply installing a new app is. If I wait on the "Open" screen right after an install, and do nothing, within a minute the system will freeze and reboot.
Interestingly, updating apps does not trigger the problem, as numerous apps have updated this week, even one that Google Play wanted me to approve manually. Go figure.
Anyway, I have a logcat of an example in case anyone is interested. In this case, I initiated an install at 15:26, which is when the log begins. It ends shortly after the reboot.

Anyone else been having this like... CONSTANTLY lately?
I'm pretty sure it refers to Facebook Messenger (it's messenger not messaging, which is how Facebook's Messenger app is spelled). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. I contacted support. I cleared data/cache. I cleared the whole systems cache in recovery. Nothing helps. This thing "stops responding" like 10 times a day. It's unbearable.

I think he was being rhetorical and saying to stop using it.
I'm going to say Uninstall it, reboot, then reboot into Recovery and wipe dalivk/cache and Fix Perms, then reboot System, let the phone boot completely (10mins+), then reinstall said app from Play Store. This is what I had to do with G+ to get it working again.

Fix Perms would be on a custom Recovery, such as TWRP or CWM. If you aren't running one of those (or another custom Recovery), then ignore that part or install one (this is XDA after all).

Any luck? I rooted my S2, did a GS2ROMWIPE and installed [WizzedKAT Rom][V2.9 Final !!]. I then restored my backed-up apps using Super Backup.
I had to uninstall and reinstall Facebook as it kept crashing. I decided to also install FB Messenger. At regular intervals now even just when driving and using Google Maps navigation, I get the error "unfortunately, messenger has stopped" and I must click "OK". (screenshot attached).
I've uninstalled Messenger and am yet to receive another error, but I would like to install it again if there is a solution to this error.
EDIT: I followed the steps :

I got to wiping the Dalvik Cache but in Philz Kernel there is no Fix Pemissions. I left that out and rebooted. Then I started getting new errors that "Unfortunately, contacts has stopped". Have since rebooted and Contacts is working again. Will now try reinstalling FB messenger
Fix permissions is starting to be left out of recoveries because it very rarely does anything anyone needs. As for your app im not sure. Its possible the dev needs to update it for use on kk. If you do a clean flash, and only install that app, does it still behave the same? If so its probably a compatibility issue.

Touch wood, but Facebook Messenger seems to have behaved itself in the half-day since reinstalling it after wiping the Dalvik Cache. I can't say why the cache wipe temporarily affected Contacts, but that's fine too after a reboot.
Should the "Messenger Has Stopped" message reappear, I'll look into doing a clean flash to determine compatibility issues of the app, but I never used FB Messenger on my i9100 Stock Rom so I do not have that as a comparison. That said, the OP had issues on an unrooted S3, so the app could be suspect or perhaps me and Polarbearmc had another software issue in common that affected FB Messenger .
Anyhow, if it worked for me, perhaps the OP had to consider temporarily rooting their phone to do this Davlik Cache wipe too. If the OP feeds back that will be nice, for me I'll continue to explore my new WizzedKat 2.9 Rom.
I have an ATT S3 with 4.1.2 currently. It is rooted and has CWM recovery but still running stock OS.
I keep getting notifications of an OS OTA update to be installed, but it always fails. Can I get that to install by simply deleting the superuser app and selecting update option? Does the custom recovery also interfere?
Maybe the best way to ask is...
what would be the process I should use to get the update to install and get back to rooted/CWM?
I am no longer a "power user" and could easily live with the 4.1.2 OS, but the frequent 'demands' from ATT to install the update are bothersome.
Ota updates will only work with no root and a custom recovery.
Since you are on 4.1.2, you could flash stock 4.1.1, sim unlock, and run ota updates to 4.4.2. It's no the fastest but I feel it is the safest route.

OTA is typically the safest way to update (as with any update, official or otherwise, you proceed at your own risk and no one here is responsible should anything negative happen to your phone and its software). If you do not want to take the time to do so, or feel the process is too tedious, you should be able to freeze the AT&T software update with an app like Titanium Backup. This should stop the nagging to install an OTA update. I have utilized this method before and it has worked quite well for me in the past.

I am kind of surprised that uninstalling the superuser app is not enough to allow the update.

If I remember correctly it is called "software update" but it will definitely consist of those words. I know it can be done because I did it when I was on rooted stock 4.1.1 and 4.1.2. Once I froze it, I never got notified.

Gosh, I have looked repeatedly through the (long) list of installed things in TitaniumBackup "Overview of app storage use..." list (the screen from which you freeze things...
and I simply cannot find the OTA update app. Indeed I did not see anything with the word 'update' in it.
Hoping someone can help me specifically identify the app that needs to be frozen in an S1 to stop the auto updates.
They are driving me crazy. Even though they fail, they often happen at night and leave the phone screen ON, on a screen waiting for an input, and the battery is hot. Happened once when not plugged in and drained to autoshutoff, so I woke to a dead battery.
