I read about it in the forums a while ago and I believe so, but a few weeks after the newer Xperia phones get the update. (I read that from somewhere, but not sure if it is true.
EDIT:
From another user's forum, I guess the Ion might not get it after all. Shame on AT&T. Here is the original forum.

Yea just ATT said they will not update it but I bet they know we can flash the other ftf's as well. This could be a good thing as maybe Sony will give us a unlock soon. I would think we should see a JB for Ion soon as its starting to roll out to the first ones in line.

Rogers will be last I imagine haha sloowww

Hey guys, fernmar is pretty new and just made a mistake! I am sure most of us did at some point!
fernmar, please post this in the correct section, the Q&A Section is the best place to get good answers on this! You may also want to check out the Xperia Play Development Section to see if you can find an ICS thread that works good for your friends phone. Hope you find all the information you need!

Why no development for Ion

There is only one thread in the android development section for the ion. Whats stopping people from hacking this phone (other than the bootloader)
What's stopping you?

This has been answered before. What's stopping people from hacking this phone is that this phone is relatively new. It had just came out on the market for almost a month and the developers may have not been able to purchase the phone yet.

Just to add to this, the bootloader is almost everything and Sony fixed Gingerbread so that it cannot be exploited using the old fashion means, which means either we develop new means or wait for ICS that we have a new way to exploit.
It may also be that many devs are working on the new more powerful phones, any Sony is really a small underground community. I promise when I get an ion I'll start developing.

Another reason is that everyone is waiting for ICS, why bother to develop for GB when ICS is coming in like 1-2 month.

I called the dev allocation line, they said definitely maybe we may or may not get some dev support.
I hate being the troll here but why, why ask this same question that others have and further bloat this forum, when no one knows when a Rom is coming.

We do have "some" dev support or we wouldn't have CWM, root and several mods.

Xperia T is the their flagship and annoyingly it is cheaper in the UK than what the S was.
No .50 for Generic UK
Stock UK here and 6.1.A.2.50 just showed up. I had previously put the latest Italian ICS rom on though - later than the 453 one so that might have been why.
Still no UK Generic

[Q] Spoof Xperia S as Xperia Z?

There is an offer for Xperia Z owners that gives them a 25€ voucher for SEN services (this includes PSN, which is what interests me the most). Is there some way to spoof our device to make the app think it's an Xperia Z? I'd really enjoy a free game off PSN.
You must edit build.prop.

I figured as much, but with google, I only find edits to spoof as samsung or nexus. Also, what do I need to edit for the spoof to work, exactly?
Can I get a full guide on how to do this, with all the data needed from the Xperia Z?
Ok, I have the Xperia Z build.prop right here (got it from some rom I grabbed on the XZ forum), which lines do I need to change exactly?
Nevermind, I did it.

Changing the build.prop to pose as another device should work nearly the same on all Android phones, be it Samsung or Sony. So did you get the voucher?

Yes, it worked. I used it on PSN and I'm currently downloading a game. Hopefully it's not illegal. I don't feel too bad about it because I own a ton of sony devices, so I probably deserve it too even though I don't have the XZ.
I'd like if this thread was deleted ASAP if I somehow broke any rule.
As of today the promotion is on hold due to to many people claiming the £20 vouchers, and seeing as I only just spoofed my sxs I just missed out lol. The message from sony does say it will start again and the promotion runs until halfway through June so hopefully I will get a chance to claim the voucher code.
Couldn you tell us how you did it?
Thanks

For anyone not with an Xperia Z, but still have an Android phone you must first be rooted, and download build.prop editor. Back up first, then set the settings to this:
ro.product.device=C6603
ro.product.model=C6603
ro.product.brand=Sony
ro.product.name=C6603_1272-8629
ro.product.board=MSM8960
ro.product.manufacturer=Sony
ro.build.fingerprint=Sony/C6603_1272-8629/C6603:4.1.2/10.1.A.1.350/ofp_rw:user/release-keys
The offer is now working again but Sony have updated the app to block spoofed phones well at least the sxs.

xperia m is getting official 4.4 :D

see this guys!!
this is pretty possible :good::good:
Really??
But can confirm because both of them have about six month support yet...

Until Sony announce it I won't be believing it. That claim is very easy to make and could be a hoax.
I am going to contact sony right now and see if this is true. Wish me luck
lol... the callers who pick our calls at the sony centre are really dumb. they don't know anything. they dont even have any idea whats going in sony in present.. how can they tell what will take place in future
p.s... don't believe them!!
I think this is joke
The thing we can do for now is to wait if this rumor will be true.
Will be Android 5 with full ARM ,not 4.4. )))
Sony replied to my email. Sorry guys it's bad news. They say that the xperia m could get the 4.4 update, just not any time soon. Looks like we will be waiting a while. They also stressed the word "could", so they are still unsure if they should do it or not.

In SGS4 many apps are incompatible with 4.4 even downloaded from store !!!!

ART, Immersive Mode, better RAM managment(atleast that's what they say). Anyway, it's ok, but it isn't anything special. Also, Immersive mode is sometimes pain in the ass, since pulling down will show status bar and nav bar, so it was quite annyoing for me when i acidentally pulled them down in certain apps and games.
