Sure can. I do it all the time. Please note however that once you see the picture in the message box, you will have to hit the key just to the left of the physical center home button and choose duration from the bottom of that menu. From here you can increase the slide duration from the default 5 seconds so the person on the receiving end actually sees the entire animation.

Yes and one other important bit of information to add. The GIF file size should be 1MB or smaller. Any larger than that and it will be compressed into a static image. You can still share GIFs larger than 1MB, but you'll have to resort to uploading the file to Dropbox or Google Drive (for example) and texting the recipient a link to the hosted file.

Dont want to beat a dead horse...but Gallery > Screen shots
Screenshots!!!
I'm super super super excited!!!
I have known for over a year that all Samsung Android phones (with touchwiz) have a built in screenshot engine. The problem is that nobody has been able to figure out how to use it. I've even triggered it accidentally a few times on my Vibrant. There is no documentation on this feature but I finally stumbled across the answer while playing with my new Galaxy S II.
HOME+POWER
Please try this on some other Sammy phones and report back. I would love to find out if it works on all of them.
ah yes, it's actually documented in the manual
but as usual no body reads it, not even me
LOL
but it was mentioned already on the release date of the phone, and demoed
there's also another way to capture screen, something about tilting the screen and pressing something, forgot that part
Thank you all for your help.
I found it burried in the app screens.

How to install
First and foremost. Check to see if these tones are titled the same as yours. They may vary. If not, just rename them to match yours.
1. Download tone
2. I recommend renaming the original tone with a .bak ending, just Incase you want to use it again.
3. Copy and paiste the new one in the system/media/audio/ui folder.
4. Fix permissions like usual
5. Reboot
------------------------------------------------
Ringtones
These have to go into the system/media/audio/ringtone folder. Fix permission
Or
Create a ringtone folder on your SD card. You wont loose them this way. No need to fix permission
Feel free to share your tones here

Should be possible. Ill make a blank one when I get home tonight. You can just fill in the folder with what you want. Its basically the same as my lock screen zips, just change the destinatinon folder to what you want using 7zip on your PC.

Here's what I used for most of my system sounds, and charger connect. Really annoying, but fun to play with. You just keep tapping the back button and zap lasers at people.

I use Dragon now and it suits me. When I get a text, the dragon window comes up and I can tap the mic to dictate my message back and hit respond. You can type it in too if you need to. There's an option to have the sms be read out in car mode as well.
I played with the first gen S Voice when it came out. It worked for the most part besides the settings at first, but I personally hate it when an app limits me from doing something as simple as going into the settings lol.

It does I solved your issue use a different service. That's not hard to comprehend at all. Clearly the built in screen shot isn't that great so use a different service. There are plenty of options on the play store.

Thanks again for ur response but I insist this does not solve my issue since I want the STOCK SCREENSHOT SERVICE to have a better quality and I bet that changing the build. U can do that unfortunately I don't know which properties to change for it to be done and that's why I ask the question here to see if any DEV could lead me into the right direction otherwise I would've just go to the play store and download one of those screenshot apps u mention!!
Thanks again

Why try to figure it out? As an app thats like 80kb and does a better job dude clearly that rom dev didnt want it to be best quality. You could have already taken a thousand of screenshots in perfect quality if you had just downloaded an app.
I don't understand you reason to use the built in service. Your not benefiting At all.

The reason why I want the built in is because the apps either put an icon on the screen or u have to use a shake movement for it which makes it bad since I'm always moving and the damn phone start taking screenshots if I find one that I could just merge it into the power menu or the screenshot combination buttons then yes it works For me
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
I honestly can't see a difference from the screenshots I take with the built in feature and the original screen. They look the same when viewed on my phone unless I send them thru the messaging app which compresses them.

See thats easy to fix. Dude in most apps give you the option to turn it off any other ways to do it. And when I try to take a screenshot with power menu it would hit pause on games and bring me to a menu. Unlike using an app where it doesnt have that issue.

My screen shots are crystal clear and as mentioned, they only get blurry when i try to send them due to compression

an app will not embed it to the power menu thats done within the ROM itself ask the Rom Dev to bake it in.
But an app like screenshot by Kastor Soft with the nexus icon for the app is really good.

Auto retrieve Mms on HYPERDRIVE RLS16 without turning on data?

As the title suggests, I would like to be able to automatically have my data turned on to download a MMS and the turn back off. I had this functionality on cyanogenmod but can't figure it out on HYPERDRIVE.
I'm on a fixed data plan and prefer to leave my data off all day and use it as needed. Anybody have any ideas? Flashable patch or something in terminal?

Never mind. I found a thread on here discussing the issue. Not a feature on touchwiz. If you paste the following:
<CscFeature_RIL_ForceConnectMMS>true</CscFeature_RIL_ForceConnectMMS>
This goes into /system/csc/feature.xml
Make sure you put it into the body of the file and not at the bottom. It needs to be before the end.

I put it just before the end, before

Just make sure you create it's own line and don't put it in the middle of another coding line.

From what I can tell this fix seems pretty exclusive to touchwiz based roms.
