If you can't enter "recovery" anymore via pressing the power button (e.g. you still have the original bootloader installed), you need to get the Kindle Fire back to "fastboot mode" to be able to set boot mode back to "recovery" from there.
From what you describe it sounds like you need a "Factory Cable" to get there. A factory cable is a special USB cable that the boot loaders of the Kindle Fire detect and then switch to fastboot mode automatically.
For both (fastboot mode and factory cable) you can find excellent tutorials in the "Kindle Fire General" section right here.

Just stay calm. If your Kindle Fire still shows a boot logo, it's very likely you can get this fixed.

:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

not neccessarily , i think you really need to imerse yourself in reading especially anything from kinfauns or vashypoo , trust me I thought I needed a factory cable too but you can do it , be patient , make sure you have the right drivers!!! Use a dedicated USB port (meaning one on the back of the pc), if your using adb the kindle drivers might work , it will say they are correct, but for me I used kfu and use there THERE drivers , they will work, kfu will get you a boot loader , might as well go FFF ,
Every Android device is different ,you may be proficient using Samsung , but Acer and Kindle are completely different , Kindle in particular is alot different than just android , READ,READ,READ EVERYTHING!

I need urgent help. As I wrote I bought a factory cable to repair my kindle fire.
But now 'I do not know how to do, and unfortunately I see the little' English.
I tried to connect the kindle with the factory cable and I get the screen that says: fastboot and the design of a traffic light. Now what do I do? I'm desperate.
I tried to use unbrick utility but I do not recognize the kindle

You have a KF2. Install fastboot drivers and install TWEEZERMOD (search on google) then install freedomboot and TWRP and then mount, install a rom for the Kf2 and u r done.
Sent from a bird... No, a plane... Wait, It's a Kindle Fire!

unfortunately they are in a dire situation. I do not know how, but where he made some attempts, now my kindle does not connect more 'of nothing, not even with the factory cable and recharge.
I tried to attack the kindle to the electrical outlet, but will not charge, will not turn on even the lights on the power button, and the charger heats up but the kindle does not charge!

Stuck at Kindle Fire Logo [Bricked]

So I downloaded KFU to root a Kindle Fire, And when I chose root permanently with super user, the Kindle rebooted and got stuck at the Kindle Fire logo. The computer won't recognize it anymore so I can't do anything with the usb. It says unknown device in device manager. Is there anything I can do? I'm willing to buy a factory reset cable if need be.
Try the Kindle Fire Unbrick Utility
The "Thanks" button never hurt anyone.

I've tried that, but when I click the "stuck at logo" button, it says waiting for device twice, then it says that my device should be unbricked now. Unfortunately, the device remains stuck.
I think the major issue which needs to be addressed is that the computer is not recognizing it as a kindle. Once that is fixed, unbricking it shouldn't be too difficult.
Me too!
Hi,
I just joined specifically so I could post in this thread, because I have exactly the same problem - only difference is the device manager has "android adb interface", with a yellow exclamation point sign, nested under "android phone". The unbrick utility says the Kindle should be unbricked, but it manifestly is not.
Is buying a factory cable the only way to go? Is that very likely to work? Is there any chance at all I can still root it? This is actually the 2nd KF which has had the exact same issue after giving the root command in KFU...

Really? I'm not seeing it. Would I find it somewhere other than "private messages"?
If you find yourself stuck in fastboot after using kfu and it did nothing but sit and say waiting for device- After a few minutes of sitting simply just long press on the power button till it turns off -then power it back on. the instructions in the terminal literally say just that. It will then send all the required files to your kindle if you selected the permanent root option. Make sure you have allowed installation from unknown sources and have closed the usb connection application prior to making any selection.

Is fastboot the mode where it only shows the kf logo? I thought that was the boot loader...or am I just confusing things?
Anyway, thanks for the info, I sincerely hope it will help someone else, but unfortunately I don't know what I could do with it now - I've unplugged it, and now the device isn't recognized by kfu or my PC - and of course, it's stuck at the KF logo. And I'm not positive, but pretty sure that once the kf froze after I issued the root command, I did power it off then back on. Seems like the logical thing to do.
This happened to me. You have to use a factory cable or USB pin short trick which I did. After that it reinstalled my drivers and I then got twrp flashed and then perfection!
***if you choose to do the USB pin trick I'm not responsible for any hardware malfunctions or anything that will make you kindle into a paper weight I'm simply saying its what I did.***

Use a factory cable. It will make life easy. Sticker on that logo too, same situation. I created my own factory cable and that solved it. Hope this helps.
Also, try to check your adb drivers.

[Q] Bricked Kindle Fire (first gen.) computer won't recognize

I have had my Kindle Fire for over a year and I have used various ROMs. Most recently, I was using the HellFire ROM and it crashed out on me. I decided to go back to stock for a while but noticed a new version of FFF (v1.4a) so decided to install that. Now, it boots to the FFF screen but nothing else. I cannot enter the boot menu. My computer does not recognize the device (no sound from the computer recognizing that it was plugged in) with either a regular or factory USB cable (I've used the factory cable before to unbrick the device).
I have read through the other posts regarding similar problems but all of those posts were resolved with either a driver problem or with a factory cable. None of the utilities or terminal commands are useful since the device is not recognized.
I have let the battery completely drain (letting it sit in a drawer while I take a break from the problem). It does recharge with the factory charger, but one thing of note is that the LED stays green during the charge. It never turns amber either on the charger or when it is connected to the computer.
Anyone have any ideas? I've been scratching my head lots over this. Many thanks for anyone willing to scratch along with me.
So have you tried Soupkit? How did you flash your bootloader?

First of all, thanks for replying and trying to help. I have tried SoupKit and the Macintosh utilities but I keep getting the same response "Your device appears to be offline."
I originally rooted the kindle by manually entering adb commands. I installed the bootloader with KFU.
Is the bootloader splash static or does it blink on and off? Are you able to accces the boot menu to reset bootmode or enter recovery or select normal boot?

The bootloader splash is static. I am unable to access the boot menu at all.
I have been playing with the "short the point" install TWRP over USB but to no avail. I get "waiting for OMAP44xx device" and that's all.

[Q] PC wont recognize my kindle fire 1

Hi,
I get almost new kindle fire 1 but computer won't recognize it. I tried with another one and computer recognize it fine. It's stuck in a boot logo. I don't have any more info about it. Any chance to get it work?
I've had this issue before as well, you should be able to get into recovery. Just make sure your fully charged and keep trying to get into recovery by pushing the power button down in order to select 'recovery' if you've got TWRP.
With your PC though, if it's never been recognised by that computer before then you need to install the drivers for the kindle fire. They should be around this forum somewhere, probably in the stickies if I'd have to guess. And if that still doesn't work for you, download a program called 'moborobo' which should automate all the steps for you and allow your computer to 'see' your kindle.
Good luck.
Hi,
Yes i find solution for my problem by making the Factory Cable and i get it in the fastboot mode. After that I tried to install FFF and now it is completely dead
I don't know why this happened at all... My kindle even doesn't show the power led end it stays off. Later tried with Firekit but with no luck

[Q] Kindle Fire Static Logo Fastboot Stuck

I can get around in both windows and linux. I have rooted, flashed and modded a smartphone before (Samsung Galaxy Express) successfully.
This should be an easy one for some of you to diagnose. A fresh stock Kindle Fire (6.3.2). Trying to install KFU v0.9.6 from a Win7 (also have various flavors of linux, ubuntu, arch, debian, etc available to use if need be). ran install_drivers.bat without any problems, device showed up and was recognized. Ran run.bat. put it in fastboot mode. Kindle Fire rebooted into the "Kindle Fire" White/Orange static logo and is stuck. No animation, no powerbutton response, can't turn it off, unknown device in Win7, adb and fastboot commands return no devices.
From reading the many beginner guides and unbricking posts, I was lead to believe that I needed to put this unit in fastbootmode to do any custom work with the device, and seeing that it's #1 on the menu list of the KFU I thought this was a pre-requisite before installing anything else. Apparently this is not the case. The device comes up as a USB Unknown Device (Code 43) now, and KFU can not find the device and is waiting for the device. Can't do anything. The only clue I was able to read was possibly letting the power drain. It was full charged so I will have to wait for a while. In the meantime, I figured I would hit up the forum to see if anyone has a better suggestion.

For anyone who has run into the same problem, this is how I fixed my problem
[1] Power off the Kindle Fire and unplug. Hold down the power button for more than 10seconds. There seems to be some variance with how long you have to hold the button down.
[2] Use the Kindle Fire Utility "run.bat" in Windows. Without the Kindle Fire device plugged in, the ADB Status will be Offline and Boot Status unknown, obviously. Go into boot menu [1] and select Normal Boot [1]. It will tell you <waiting for device>.
[3] Plug in Kindle Fire device.
[4] It should reset the Kindle Fire to normal working status.
PS. I tried the power drain, but it as soon as I supplied power back to the unit it resumed its stuck boot loop condition, so nothing changed. The reason it took so long to figure out this problem was (a) I didn't know you had to hold down the power button so long. 3-5 seconds is typical for most devices to perform a hard shutdown. (b) You have to set the Kindle Fire Utility waiting to catch the Kindle Fire device booting, if it's stuck in this condition. You can't just plug it in and run the KFU while its stuck on that screen.
Also, DO NOT SELECT [1] and FastBoot Mode on a fresh stock unmodified Kindle Fire. The other install menu selections in KFU will automatically Fastboot in order to perform what they need to do.
Hope this helps others.

Kindle Fire 2nd GEN bricked... RED SCREEN

Hi,
Well I have had a kindle for a long time and I have successfully applied root to it many times... So this time my kindle was rooted (no problems there)... I tried the cynogenmod but for that I needed to install TWRP recovery... I used the kindle fire utility 2 master to install TWRP. Everything was going fine and then it asked to reboot the device I pressed enter and EUREKA!!!! the kindle turned with its logo but then quickly changed to the RED SCREEN... I didn't want to bother you developers so I searched for a fix... then I needed a Fastboot cable so I made one... So I plugged it in the computer and the Kindle came on with a screen with fastboot written on it and two lights one red and one green(blinking green)... So the next step was to find a program to unbrick it so I searched and downloaded the kindle fire first aide(image posted), kindle fire unbrick utility(image posted) but none of them worked. they both keep on saying " the system cannot find the path specified " (without the quotes) So I need your help I really miss my kindle and want it to live again.
P.S: If it helps when I connect the fastboot cable with my kindle and pc. in the device manager it shows up as otter-02-prod-04(image posted)
P.P.S : I really need your help .... the images can be seen on this thread " http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/kindle-fire-2nd-gen-bricked-red-screen-t2904472 "
