[Q] App to Sync Outlook Tasks via Kies USB? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just searched around the forum and can't find anything on this topic.
Recently I started syncing Outlook 2010 with my Note 2 via USB Kies. What I cannot figure out is how/where to sync Outlook Tasks.
It appears that there is no built-in ToDo or Task app on the Note 2 -- or at least I can't find one.
Does anybody know of a ToDo/Task list that will sync with Outlook 2010 via Kies? I do NOT want to use exchange server as I need to be able to sync with no internet available.
Any wizards out there with an idea on this?
Thanks

Sync Tasks and Notes!!

Does anyone know how to sync tasks and notes on the Xda III...??
Any help would be more than appreciated...
go into activesync on the pc
go into the tools menu
pick options
look if tasks and notes are checked
[Yes - but I need to do this via Exchange Active Sync (or server ActiveSync) and as such you dont have the options availible on the PC.
Hi!
You can't sync Lotus and your PDA with just activesync.
You need activesync and software like EasySync or "Kadenza".

I think The original poster was referring to the notes section within an Outlook Mailbox and not the Lotus notes product itself.
If I'm wrong, I stand corrected though!
Ohh ohh sorry!
(Maby this is his next step )
Maybe!!
I had looked at a Lotus Notes sync product, but as I've now left that company and am using Exchange only, I'm happy to stick with that i've got.
It was the outlook notes feature - i guess no one has any advice..??
If you're syncing with a PC that has outlook on it, that is connected to your exchange server, then it implies you can sync to the local PC's copy of your notes/tasks.
Specifically on notes, here's a screenshot out of my manual. They get synched too your Notes software on PPC.
Sync Lotus Notes and PDA
I'm using Notes / PPC (Ipag 6340). I've tried several packages but the best and most "transparent" is Cadenza Commontime - Mnotes which proivdes full sync of mail, folders, calendar and tasks.
They've got a trial version you can check out on www.commontime.com
Good luck !

alright, i feel pretty newbie haha i i figured it out, so forgot about first post
however, i only have an hotmail email account, how do y sinc this with outlook and my pro2?
might not be possible, so maybe some1 can tell me how to sync my contacts to my outlook?
kind regards
Oh, man. I see you're a total newcomer, welcome to the Windows Mobile world! Your phone will look like complicated at first, but after a couple weeks playing with it, you should be able to start harnessing it's power.
Pocket Outlook is integrated on your phone. The contact tab, calendar, tasks, etc IS pocket Outlook itself.
In order to sync your contacts with windows, you need to have the syncing software installed. It's on your phone's CD. If not, then you can get it from Microsoft:
Windows XP and earlier, use Activesync.
Windows Vista, Seven, use Windows Mobile Device Center.
After the syncing software is installed, just plug in your phone, select activesync, and follow the instructions on-screen.
To sync your hotmail account directly to your phone, you can use Windows Live (add it to the program tabs) and then sign-in. If you want it directly in outlook PC, then search for the Outlook Connector.
For hotmail; go to the TF3D--> Settings--> email setup menu and enter your details as prompted; it will automatically create a hotmail connection file for you

sync outlook contacts

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone tried to sync outlook contact with android. Is that easy to do ? Could we use the usb when in android mode?
Thanks.
Easiest to sync with Google - export your contacts from Outlook (to CSV) then import to Google. Any contact in the "My Contacts" section of Google syncs automatically. Works in WinMo as well, now you can sync your contacts between systems, and if you lose your phone you just put the info back in and bam wirelessly get all your contacts .
I could try to do that =). But I guess I'm wondering if we could use the usb in android mode to sync with like windows 7 or something? I"m not 100% comfortable having all my contacts in gmail in case I get hacked =P.

So you think your contacts are safer in Outlook if you 'get hacked'?
lol...
Not sure if that is possible, I've never tried... Perhaps someone has?
Yes - i also think that an Outlook running on my own machine is more secure than some Cloud-stuff i cant control/monitor/whatever
b2t: Outlook or Exchange? Exchange can directly sync with Android. If you are just using Outlook you could use SyncML-Tools like Funambol to keep contacts in sync.

[Q] Kies - problems syncing Outlook 2010 contacts with Note II

Has anyone else had problems with using Kies to sync contacts to/from Outlook 2010 and the Samsung Galaxy Note II ?
I have moved to the Note II from a Blackberry - the Blackberry syncing worked like a dream.
The problem is when I have a contact with say only a Company Name in Outlook - it wont sync across into my Note II Contacts.
I've tried Companion Link but that only syncs to DeJa Contacts and I don't want to use that because its a 3rd party software app and it doesn't have the same functionality as the Contacts on the Note II.
Any advice or recommendations would be welcomed. (and no thanks I don't want to use Google Contacts either - I just want to use Outlook)
Those contacts are on your Outlook Gal or saved individually ?

I used Outlook 2010 stand alone currently so they sit in my default Contacts folder in the Outlook PST file.
I plan to move to Exchange OnLine in the next couple of months so I'll have a hosted Exchange Server via Telstra (Australia).

Question pixel 6 pro and outlook DESKTOP sync

thinking of coming across from my Samsung SG20 and i like how i can sync my desktop outlook calendar to it via smart switch. does this pixel pro have somethin like that? i DO NOT want to use GMAIL. i want to sync my desktop outlook calendar. cant find anything on the interwebs....
thanks
Use Outlook mobile? But I guess you don't want that either?
Use "MyPhoneExplorer"!
I use it to sync my Company Outlook with my phone´s calender and contacts.
Be careful in wich direction the first sync works... you could delete one side!
After that it works flawless...

+1 I use it also for my work calendar since there is no other way. As mentioned, pay attention to the synchronization setup.
To sync calendars, you will either need a host service (basically any email service provider that supports either Microsoft Exchange or CalDAV), or a service running on the computer you want to sync from (plus access to the computer from the phone, so things like ngrok, or a VPN - not talking about commercial VPN services that make you appear you're browsing from another country, but an actual, proper VPN that creates a virtual local network, or e.g. ZeroTier).
Haven't seen anyone clamoring for this feature since the WinMo days.
I've been using companion link for outlook desktop for years. i'm still on the original version 7 and it works great with most recent outlook and my p6p. They're on version 9 or 10 now but 7 works for me so I've not upgraded it.
It called deja office now not companion link.

Slightly off-topic, but if you want to sync your Outlook work calendar with a Gmail calendar, look at Gsyncit. It can sync Outlook cals to several different programs. It won't sync mail, but it works great on cals. It's automatic, (you can have it sync anytime a cal entry is updated), and runs in the background. It's pretty cheap too. It's how I get my work cal on my phone without installing all the MDM my company requires.
