hi my xda 2 has always seemed slow in comparison to my xda1 - i think i have put this down to lots of things running in the background perhaps thing i dont need can anyone put the spotlight on a remedy any help or comments around this would be very usefull - i am so frustrated i feel like reverting to my xda 1
It´s a bad version of the roms i guess. My old one had the same problem, really really slow. Just like a program have hang or similiar.
Try upgrading to a newer version!
defective rom...... ??? cany you direct me to a good version
hi i have now waded through numerous links and downloaded many files and have even set about installing the imate rom only to be given error code 120..... i then spent lots of time reading of a fix for this but it simply got too complicated for me....... i am concerned i might break the device if i foul-up - i also visited yorch.net for a cooked rom option however it apears to be offline ? if you could or if anyone could direct me to a .exe type install of a good stable rom i would be very gratefull. thanks for any help. :?
Perhaps the simplest way to diagnose why your device is slow, is to list down what is in your startup folder?
\My Device\Windows\Startup
xda 2 very slow ..... list of things in startup folder
\windows\startup
in this folder there are short cutss to all of the following .... active,aflashman,cflashman,checkautorun,chgDfLnk,IA-caller-id,MMreg,poutlook,stk, and tFlasMan.....
would you mind explaining to me the significance of this start up folder and what effects changing the contents of the folder would have on the operationg system ? your advice as to which items are probally not required would also be welcome ..
thanks Heath.
Hi all
My first post as a new MDA PRO owner HTC universal if I am not mistaken.
My question is that I am with Vodafone UK and am tying to flash my device with their latest ROM downloaded from their site.
I keep on getting the following message from the setup program i.e. "ERROR 120 COUNTRY CODE ERROR" 38-38-44-44-44.
What am I doing wrong as I thought these machines were all the same! Or is it just an attempt by Vodafone to stop me from putting their ROM on a Tmobile phone. If it is is there a work around?
Thanks in advance
Brian.
There are 2 ways to get it working.
1. Use MaUpgradeNoID Utility
2. Change some parameters with BAL666's HTC64 Tool
If you search the forum you should normally be able to find a manual for this.
If not, do not hesitate to use the Wiki:
wiki.xda-developers.com
section Universal
Thanks for that much appreciated
As I am new to this I think must be missing something as I have tried using MAUpgradeUT_NoID with no luck. I have also seen on the threads here about MAUpgradeUT_NoID_886 but cant find a download link for it.
If someone could give me a real idiots guide would be most grateful.
All done managed to get my thick head around it.
Just like to say what a great site this is and reminds me of early Psion days.
check buzzdev.net register there and go to the download page.
If you know something about computers, then try to reset the parameters. this was working for me! the NoID.exe doesn't look for these parameters, but that doesn't worked out for me.
Hi guys!!!
If somebody need the manual this is the link
http://www.mydatabus.com/public/neto555/Excalibur__Service_manualA01_0928.pdf
Nice one , could come in very handy.
Thanks
Anyone got any idea why there is a GPS test method listed on page 39 ?
Is there on-board GPS in here somewhere ?
or how about a copy of that diagnostic file (excaimg.nbh)?
Great Job!!
This is something everyone needs to have in their arsenal, if they own the excalibur.
Even if you don't feel comfortable taking the phone apart yourself to repair it, this gives you some added knowledge of how your phone is built and is put together, so you can at least use this as a reference for diagnostics and testing.
Great idea posting this Tracker00!!!! RIGHT ON!!!!

Hi:
Try the undermentioned web address. There are listings for a lot of HTC devices, including the S620/1.
http://www.mikechannon.net
Hrm, the link works, but the link on that page to actually download the file give a PHP error.
fustigate:
Are you referring to the link in my post (#12)? If so, I just checked it and was able to download the service manual without problem.
Hi,
I have been searching all over the forums and online for a way to create and sign themes using my MacBook Pro running Leopard. I followed a guide http://www.threaded.com/2009/02/getting-started-with-google-android-on.html but as soon as I entered the make command, it would do its thing and then stop because it could not find clearsilver-jni. I'm really frustrated, and about to make a Linux dual boot partition (would that even help?) If anyone has some tips or instructions, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you!

It looks like you are starting from scratch. Is this true? If so, I would start here (this worked on my MacBook Pro w/Leopard).
Download the Mac OS X version from here:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r3/index.html
Install with these directions (follow these step by step):
http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r3/installing.html
I also chose to install Eclipse (Ganymede version); it works well for me.
This will give you the SDK, a programming environment, and of course adb.
Oh--and if your issue is only about signing the files, check out this tutorial:
http://www.androiddevelopment.org/2009/01/19/signing-an-android-application-for-real-life-mobile-device-usage-installation/
Wow, thank you.
I've been wondering the exact same thing.
Thanks!
Thank you, Derfolo. I already had th SDK up and running, but I really appreciate the simplification of signing files. That's awesome, because now I can modify any theme released, resign it, and throw it on my phone. Thanks again! And no problem ffff00 (hexadecimal?) Have a good one guys.
hello all, I currently have a tilt and am looking to upgrade to a cooked rom. I have my old 8525 Hermes/win 5 that I wanted to upgrade first (to get used to process) before bricking my tilt. I've done much reading & found all the hrd splsh & CID info for my Kaiser but not sure what to use for my 8525.
Can anyone pls, give me link to best hrd splsh for my 8525 to use. If all goes well with my 8525 im going to move on to my tilt. Any advice or warnings would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Srry folks, I've found what I'm looking for. I THINK! Trying it now. If this is wrong guide pls advice!
http://www.mrvanx.org/thg/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=26
It's the right one .
Great... Hrd Splsh was successful! Now I'm off to the races. Just not sure what race to begin with... Any advice on most popular cooked rom to begin with.
And any tips greatly appreciated.
Depends on you... if you want something to play with, try the latest ROMs from TAI (Hero V3) and +QuePPC (Moonspell B2).
Sweet, Found the downloads for those roms! Much appreciated!!!
Do I do the same process as I did to hrd splsh my phone? If not do you know of quick quide to explain steps?
And do you know if that same hrd splsh that I just did will work on my tilt as well?
Just double-click on the RUU_Wrapper.exe and follow the steps, that's it. I'd recommend you to go into bootloader mode first (press and hold power and OK button on left side and reset with stylus) and then connect to your PC, I think it's more reliable .
Every device has its own HSPL.
thxs, I've upgraded to win 6 stripped rom first as QuePPC recommended but when I try to download one of his roms rapid share says the dowload has reached it's limit of 10 and is unavailable. I did find one that was available. I'm going to try it, but in the folder it has a ruwrapper & romupdate utility. I am supposed to click the ruwrapper correct? If so how & when do you use the update utility?
It's all uploaded to MediaFire, isn't it? I'd recommend the latest 28008 if you want a 6.5.x ROM.
And there should be only two files, RUU_Wrapper.exe and ruu_signed.nbh. All other files are automatically generated after you choose the SPL version, perhaps it's a mistake, anyway you don't need to bother about the other file.
BTW you don't need to wait for the customization of the AT&T ROM to finish, just enter the bootloader immediately after you flashed it, saves a lot of time .
I dowloaded Mirion B4 Plain...... ran ruwrapper and Hermes is now modified for first time in 3 years! Sad I know!!! Pretty cool, yet it is plain..... Was first one I could find available from his links... here is the site he has listed...
http://www.techparaiso.com/roms/htc-tytnhermes-queppc/
Well im going to do it a couple more times then attemt the grandaddy of them all "for me that is" moding my tilt. If I brick it the wife will "Brick" me! LOL
I do appreciate all your help you were extremely friendlyl and not rude like many of the replies I've read to noobs.
Thanks again,
newtiltguy
The 28008 are listed at the top... anyway, try for yourself (and give +Que some feedback in his thread).
No problem, man .
If you the SDCard method I can almost guarantee that you won't have to worry about bricking any device! Flashing via USB cable is always risky 10x more if you are flashing a Radio or a ROM with the Radio in.
As long as you installed Hard SPL V7.... ;D
