Love the lockscreen. I'm just looking at the LG files, there in a .kdz format which I've no clue how to port. Maybe lockbot might have an LG version or something. In any case, this launcher is zippy.
yea good find i like this launcher better than the new tw ... sounds dumb but i love the no lines google search bar up top . if we can get a lock screen port we are good to go .. anybody know where i can get more themes for this ? i dont really like the ones in the link

Damn, LG's UI is so identical to Samsung's Touchwiz, I'm surprised they're not suing each other with all this patents nonsense flying around. That lock screen though is definitely dope. Wish Samsung adds more eye candy to their skin overlay or maybe just leave the original ICS look alone.

Hey guys!!
I'm currently on the latest build of AOKP for the S3, but haven't been able to find a single screen recording app that will work. I can't tell if it's the ROM, or if JB specific?
I was wondering.. is anyone on stock JB and using a screen recording app? If so, does it work flawlessly?
Also wondering, is anyone on stock based JB ROM and using a screen recording app? If so, does it work flawlessly?
Also wondering, is anyone on CM or AOKP and using a screen recording app? If so, does it work flawlessly?
I have an S3 from Virgin Mobile Canada. I have the latest version of Task's AOKP. I have the latest and full version of ScreenCast and the app will install, it will start recording, but the end result looks like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/34960204/video_Oct_18_2012_0.mp4
I've used the free version of ScreenCast and free version of Z Screen Recorder. They all, again, install and run properly, but the end video that is spits out, always looks the same.
I've emailed the developers of the app to see if they have any recommendations. I've posted this issue a couple times on the AOKP thread and everyone just came at me like I was expecting them to fix it, when in reality, all I wanted to know what specifically was causing it. Anyways. If anyone has any input, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Go into settings developer options and disable HW overlays and try that. Its been stated time and again that task does not and can not support third party apps in his thread. You should have made this thread the first time you were told that in his thread.
BTW--> you don't need mobo player to view the vids. The stock player works just fine, also MX Player works to. I can upload before and after vids if you like.

Thanks for the reply dude.
I definitely wasn't expect support really. I understand the app is third party. I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing it or not.. or if it was just my device. All I really needed to know if anyone else was experiencing it. But starting this thread was definitely the right thing to do.
I'll try your suggestions. I'll report back ASAP. Thanks again!

Fu**ing genius dude!! That worked!!!
What exactly does the HW Overlay do? What will be different if I kept it disabled?
Thanks man!
I'm not sure of all the specifics or technicalities but its part of jellybeans "project butter". Somethingto do with rendering home screens and whatnot through the GPU not the CPU, I don't really know lol. I do know the first few versions of jellybean suffered from screen flicker( what you see in your video) only just while on your home screen or whatever. When I looked at your video on a hunch I installed screencast and tried both ways. Glad we got it worked out and now I have another app to play with lol.

For sure dude!! ScreenCast was actually the only app I was hurting over when I made the switch from stock to AOKP. I've always been okay with any compatibility issues, but this one kind of sucked a lot for me. So glad you got it figured dude!
Mucho gracias ese!
PLEASE NOTE: THIS APP IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED AS OF 12/31/2013. FEEL FREE TO CONTINUE USING IT BUT AS IS AND ON YOUR OWN. THANKS.
erikalin - stock app
No more longing for stock apps that the ROM developer removed as bloatware but you really love...
No more explaining to users how to pull a file out of that stock ROM and push to system...
No more needing to include those extra stock apps you really would rather not keep in your ROM...
One person's bloatware is another person's beloved Yahoo stock widget...
This is a lightweight app that has a simple UI in which users can go get whatever stock apps they want to download from my repo and push back into the custom ROM they are running. The app also has a Help tab that leads to a noob-friendly video help file 2:30 minutes long, which demonstrates how to download any stock ROM apk file from the repo and push it to system/app/, set permissions, and reboot.
INCLUDING THIS APP IN YOUR ROM BUILD
Permission is given for anyone to include this app in a ROM. You do not need to ask me in advance; just let me know. Here is how to do that. If you include this app in a ROM please do two things for me in return: (1) Post a link to your ROM here on my app thread to say you have included this app, and (2) Post a link to this thread in your OP with other credits.
Please keep in mind that I cannot provide support other than for the functionality of this app: a stock file repo and basic instructions for how to push apps into the system partition. People should continue to post ROM questions on the appropriate thread for that ROM.
Do not link directly to my file repo or my youtube video that is attached to this app. You can use this app, but please do not use the pieces I have hosted and created for this app. If my traffic log indicates that this is happening, I will have to take the files down.
Keep in mind that I do not monetize on youtube, so view counts mean nothing to me. And I am hosting all files for your use without any ad support. "Click through to the thanks button" is appreciated.
THANKS & CREDIT
credit: kobridge for stock deodexed GB27 ROM, files pulled & used with permission and appreciation.
credit: bigmike6200 for being a faithful tester on build-a-rom, for which this app was made.

File names for the stock apps are here!
Just put .apk at the end of these to know what file names match the apps. I did not also cover widgets, but I think their file names are all obvious. I believe I have these all correct. If you find a mistake please pm.
To make it readable:
If viewing in the XDA mobile app, tap once on image and then pinch to zoom.
If viewing in mobile browser, tap once, then once more on the viewer, to pinch to zoom.
If viewing on a PC, click the thumbnail, then click on it again to open in a separate tab to zoom in.
If viewing on a mac, I don't know you, and you paid too much for your system.

Hey bud, ROM is not released yet. This is just an app I made to put into build-a-rom when I release, but I am sharing the app because if people check it out, they'll probably realize they want to bake it into their ROMs as well. Your feedback helped - made me realize that I needed to do this for what I'm putting together. Also, when I do release build-a-rom, you'll be able to keep your data and flash over the test build.

If you guys would want to include this app in your next deodexed ROM versions, go ahead and use it. Just give a link to this thread. I did theme this according to my own project, with the neon green on black. If you want, I can make a few versions themed to your colors. Specifically, where you see green on black in the app's landing page as well as the icon, I can make that whatever on whatever. Black on buttons and app icon could be transparent, but I do like my main background image in the app - it's a darkened screenshot from stock GB7 TW homescreen. Subtle, but pleasing because of the function of the app... but the neon green-on-black color scheme I could change for you easily enough. If you would like this, let me know your hex codes.
I'm going to wait to see whether I get some feedback to help decide if I should make a revision or if it's good out of the box. Fifty downloads so far, which surprises me for a little app on this thread. Either way, I can make a few versions themed for you... we are small in number in the ghostly E4GT forums... And seriously, I've got this handset for another year. If you do not want to include it or don't like it - no offense - just offering/sharing.
Who's gonna be first? Just kidding, looks good.
Edit: Really liking this, great job. Simple and useful at it's best.
Nice no more needle in a haystack search we like simplicity!!!
Very cool. It should be noted somehow that preload files will have to be dropped into system/app to prevent confusion because they will not run by themselves without a symlink. Two very nice apps in one day. This one and the repository app.

Anyway...
Today in between doing my real work I've also been thinking about how to improve this thing. 90 downloads in one day? Of my little app? In our quiet little forum? I'm glad people are checking it out, so I'll do right by it. I have some initial ideas:
(1) Theme in a few different colors, build them and name them by color scheme. I'd be theming the font color, buttons, and the app icon's colors. Like I said, I do like my app background image so that's staying. Darkened screenshot of stock JB, it makes sense. If anyone says there's interest, I'll make a few different color schemes for v.2. Give hex #s if you want. Honestly, I'm not at a loss for how to spend my time, so if there's no interest I'm fine with my just using original color scheme.
(2) Make sure to clarify push apps to system/app/. Thanks again, td, for reminding. I'll reword the main activity page's description and it will be clear.
(3) Verify that bluehost.com really means unlimited storage and bandwidth for my hosting accounts. I do have several websites on that account, and since I'm now using one of my extras for putting E4GT files on... I can't let it put my regular websites at risk. I will investigate though. If I can host more stuff legitimately with my account, I will consider suggestions for how I might add to this app. I am no expert in java, but can probably handle tabbed navigation, or swipe screens, to different purposes. I will think about this, and consider ideas. The beauty of it is that it will add almost nothing to the weight of the app itself, because all resources are accessed via browser, youtube, whatever. To be clear, I do not want to recreate bilgerryan's fine work with the one stop shop. That's not happening. If I expand on this it will be within parameters... Might just fine tune and keep it the simple app I intended it to be too.
(4) Who is downloading this thing? Lol. You 90+ people, please give me quick feedback. :good:

You're playing around with the test build of my ROM, and putting in the apps that you want. Just my app here? It works for any deodexed stock GB27 TW ROM, of which JV is one. The app is essentially a file repo - all the stock ROM apps. You like the inverted and themed apps, so you probably wouldn't need this app of mine. It's just a way to get stock apps that are missing from any one custom ROM, without a developer having to keep a bunch of the stock apps in the ROM. Win win. I might add to this app somewhat, or I might make a second app with other ideas, both apps being made primarily for my build-a-rom project.
ROM Toolbox ("RTB") is, I think, one of the most valuable apps out there. It's good to use with any ROM and has a lot of useful features.
So just on the next morning to the exciting night, Google released N5 with KitKat,
we have nearly every app available to use on our GNex..
1)Hangouts V2-Here Not tested on Gnex.
2)Official Nexus 5 wallpapers-Here also you can use this APPput in system/app yourself and set permission -r-w-r--r --Credits to Ashutosh1997
3)New Google Home with Google Now-Flashable ZIP-working, onl search FCs.
More will be added soon...

Strange, on my phone, after installer a couple of kitkat apps (google services, hangout, camera, keep, search, clock) there is no more "contacts" nor "phone calls" (the dialler) to be seen in my apps panel. Can't call anybody anymore :/
and hangout is always slow as hell to launch and work with (tends to kind of "freeze" on an empty screen page while loading / waiting for god knows what). Was used to this lagggggy UI with hangout, but it can't be so sluggish for SMS.

Try greenify from the play store. Your phone might be running out of memory or over loading the CPU. I don't have a single problem. The hangout app actually works faster than the SMS app for me!
Really weird that the phone and contacts apps disappeared though. Something went wrong somewhere. If you don't want to wipe then you can probably dirty flash your ROM to get them back.

I've gotten all the Kitkat apps on my phone and I have no problems at all. I'm glad to see they finally updated their ugly email app. And the camera rotates a lot faster than before. Google Now is awesome. I had mixed feelings about the new launcher at first but its growing on me. The keyboard seems more responsive too. Also, the hangouts app isnt all that laggy for me. It does take a second to load everything when forst opened but after that, its fine. SMS works great with it in my case. Overall, they are great updates. I can't wait to try out the Kitkat OS.

After you get them on your sdcard, most of them can just be installed like normal apk files.

This is just a thought. But when I installed most of these, I was installing them over system apps or I was moving them to system/app to make them system apps. Maybe that makes a difference.
Anyone using the new Google Keyboard? I found out you can type a whole sentence now with the swipe guesture without raising your finger. The space bar is recognized as a swipe input now. The Android blue color is #33b8e4 by the way.
I'm using Xperia Launcher 2.0.5b (2.0.6 must be the same): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2103403
It is limited to only 4 dock items but is otherwise highly customizable, rock solid and filled with features nice touches I can't find anywhere else.
I love the Xperia launcher Weather widget (it's nicely animated) and I've been using the MIUI weather app, also fully animated: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsInByby5idXJnZXJ6LndlYXRoZXIiXQ
I'm using the Xperia Album (5.2.A.0.6) and Walkman (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39451002) apps . Both work partially/crash sometimes because 4.3 Xperia is not out yet, but they do look good.
Finally, I'm using Viral for floating videos: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Mata and GoogleEars/SoundSearch 1.17 which works in Canada even though we don't have Google Music yet (can't find where I got the apk though)
Of course it's all based on TheMrcool212's excellent PA 3.99 RC2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446576
Don't hesitate to suggest other interesting alternatives. Of course I take no credit for all the wonderful apps/mods I'm mentioning here.
320 views and no replies. Some cool mods you got man. I guess everyone is only caring about the kitkat release threads. Been using viral for a while here too. It dont look as nice as the offical youtube but i like the floating video feature.

No offense, and I don't mean it in a bad way but I think is mostly because there's already a thread for us to show our Nexus 7 themes. That's my thought, I could be wrong.
