My brother has a Note II (GT-7100) and asked me to help him out with the issue of the internal memory getting clogged up.
I decided to install the latest CM 10.1 Nightly on it, as that is the firmware I'm currently very happy with on my S II, but the ExtSD2Internal script didn't work, so I reverted back to the stock 4.1.2 (Open Austria) firmware, flashed the Perseus kernel (for init.d) support and used ExtSD2Internal v5.5 to get the accomplished results.
Personally, I think he'd probably be happier with CM 10.1, especially since it supports profiles out of the box. So basic question, is there an easy way to swap internal memory to the external SD card? I searched the forums here, but didn't find a definite answer or solution - I'd be very happy, if somebody could point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

Good morning everyone, I have been here on XDA for some time now and all I can say is that this forum rocks, keep it up. Now, a friend of mine has this phone, Galaxy Gio, and he is really pissed by the fact that it has only 150 MB for installing apps and he asked me for help. Well, I told him that he could install a custom ROM and then he could move all his apps on the microSD card, he didn't like the idea at first but after a while I talked him into it. Now I need your help, in order to install app2sd(from darktremor I think) do I need to have a custom ROM or having a rooted phone is enough?Which ROM do you recommend in words of performance/stability ?I was thinking about BNC, Adrenaline or CM 7.2 but I haven't followed this phone's activity that much so I don't really know which rom is the best one. Also, every and each of these roms have app2sd integrated or do I need to install that separately?Sorry for my English if it's that bad. I hope you can help me, if you think that this questions have been asked before, you have my apologizes and you can close the thread without any problems. Have a nice day!
I am on a stock rom and have link2sd on my phone.
Works good to trow apps on the sdcard.
You can found info on this forum to install link2sd.

I have no custom rom because my phone is provider locket.
Your friends phone most have root al's it don't work.

Hope it helpt.
Thanks a lot. Now, who can recommend a good custom ROM?Or is CM7 good enough?BNC?
I myself use 7.2 and it works like a charm, also very easy flashing.
Hey guys;
Currently running with a Samsung Galaxy Gio, running CM10.1 for around the last 4 hours or so. I'm a complete noob, have no idea how I managed to install this mod without bricking the phone... but I got there.
Sadly, I'm not liking it. It's a little sluggish, and I'm wanting to move my apps to the SD card to stop the phone *****ing about lack of space. I'm not entirely fussed on the android version... I thought the latest would be good, but apparently the little Gio isn't able to handle it too well.
Basically I'm looking for a faster ROM to install, maybe some details on how to format my SD card/partition it for the ROM's requiring me to do it.
Any help is appreciated, and I apologise in advance if my noobishness makes one of you pull your hair out in frustration.
Thanks in advance!

Guys i just recently became a proud owner of a Galaxy note 2 AT&T edition and so far i love the phone. It's been unlocked and rooted with a cleanrom ACE 4.7.0 and i wanted to know have they released a proper app2sd patch for it?How to update cleanrom? And also is cleanrom the best rom for note2 because i've been having some lag issues in some of the softwares and was wondering would the stock rom be better?I know i'm talking like a noob but that's coz i am,I have no idea where to search for this stuff on this expansive forum so please help me
Well if you want to search, google is a good place to start.
AFAIK there isn't a app2sd patch for this device.
To update cr you just need to go to Scott's roms webpages and download the updated version, transfer to your sd card, boot in recovery and flash. Make sure to read the op in the thread for recommended wiping instructions.
As far as the "best" rom, it's all about personal preference. I prefer cr over all others because I want a stock experience with out the bloat and add some goodies. But you'll get a hundred different people saying that xyz rom is the best for abc reasons.
Lag can be caused by a number of things... It can be apps open or processes hanging. Usually a clean install of your rom will clear it up. If it persist than try another TW rom. If you still see it then try an AOSP or AOKP rom. It's all about finding what works best for you.

I'm pretty new to all of this and still a bit tentative. I have searched quite a bit and learned a lot but I still generally feel overwhelmed when I try to read threads specific to certain ROMS.
I recently got a Tab 3.7 (SM-T210R) and have managed to root it and install PhilzTouch.
I also installed RocketTab Lite which was good but I realise what I want is all the Samsung stuff gone, so it feels more like a simple android device.
So, I'm trying to figure out what ROM would suit me best.
Also, it is only 8GB and even with almost no apps (or media) it seems to be almost a third full. So far I haven't got Link2SD to work. Will another ROM allow me to move apps to the SD like I could in my phone?
Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

Thanks. Can you flash a Kit Kat ROM on a tab that has jellybean, or do you have to upgrade first?
Also, that says it is for a Tab 3.10, would it work with the Tab 3.7?

CAGrom is made only for the Tab 3 10. You can find roms for the 7 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-7
I don't know anything about the roms for that device. though, XDA generally prohibits suggestions as it is all about experiencing and experimenting finding the right fit that you want. I suggest looking at the roms at the link above and see if any might interest you there. good luck.
Dear all,
I wish someone could help me here.
I recently bought a second-hand Note 10.1 2014 (P605) which seems running on Cyanogenmod 13. First i noticed that it doesn't recognised my sim card, then camera is also crashing.
After reading around, i found out that this is the issues with CM13
hence i'm thinking to move to other stable rom.
my question would be:
1. Can recommend me a good and stable rom? i don't need anything fancy, as long as stable and light. currently i'm in progress downloading David's rom, is that ok?
2. Moving from CM to other rom, can i simply follow instruction on the ROM's thread? for instance, if i am going to use David's rom, just follow the steps there? any prerequisite things to be done first? i just want to ensure that i will be on the right path. because i read on the cyanogenmod website, this system had it own recovery and heimdal and stuffs, i'm a bit worried that it is somehow created a different things in the system (i don't even know how to say this correctly).. is it alright for me to simply flash another recovery and ROM?
sorry for the dumb question. hope someone will be kind enough to guide me. thanks in advance
