[Help needed] Moving from Cynogenmod13 to other ROM - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Dear all,
I wish someone could help me here.
I recently bought a second-hand Note 10.1 2014 (P605) which seems running on Cyanogenmod 13. First i noticed that it doesn't recognised my sim card, then camera is also crashing.
After reading around, i found out that this is the issues with CM13
hence i'm thinking to move to other stable rom.
my question would be:
1. Can recommend me a good and stable rom? i don't need anything fancy, as long as stable and light. currently i'm in progress downloading David's rom, is that ok?
2. Moving from CM to other rom, can i simply follow instruction on the ROM's thread? for instance, if i am going to use David's rom, just follow the steps there? any prerequisite things to be done first? i just want to ensure that i will be on the right path. because i read on the cyanogenmod website, this system had it own recovery and heimdal and stuffs, i'm a bit worried that it is somehow created a different things in the system (i don't even know how to say this correctly).. is it alright for me to simply flash another recovery and ROM?
sorry for the dumb question. hope someone will be kind enough to guide me. thanks in advance

[Q] Galaxy Newbie / Root / Roms / Radio

Hey Guys, i´m coming from the desire z and got few small questions.
1. someone told me there´s no need to root the device, is that right or not?
2. do i need a kind of dev-bootloader?
3. which recovery is the best? / does the ext4 recovery exist for the nexus? really liked to work with it
4. got o2(germany), is there any recommended radio?
5. are there big differences between the roms? which one would u take? i personally would take cm9, because i used cm7 on my desire z, but e.g. android revolution got a lot of clicks, why do so many people prefere it?
for the moment, these are the questions that are in my mind, think in 2 days it´s gonna arrive, just wanted to make sure everything can ben realised as fast as possible when my new phone arrives
thanks in advance

1. There are definite benefits to unlocking the bootloader and rooting. And if you ever had to, you can go back to stock. The great thing about the Galaxy Nexus is how very hard it is to truly brick, but dont try
2. No, unlocking the bootloader is actually pretty simple. You will need Android SDK and the drivers installed on your computer
3. I prefer Clockwork Mod Recovery. Because its the most popular, it is also what most instructions are for
4. You will just have to read through some of the GSM radio threads. Updating to 4.0.4 is probably all you need though.
5. Yes there are difference between ROMS. I am currently using AOKP Milestone 4. CM9 is certainly great with a lot of feature. ARHD is more to the stock feel. Its not going to have as many feature as AOKP, CM9, or Gummy, but it is a very smooth ROM. Honestly it just comes down to what you like in the feature list.
If you have any questions on how to do any of this there are detailed, near fool-proof, instructions here

Guude
1) Depends on what you wanna do with the phone. Mine is rooted
2) Not really
3) I would use CWM. Works perfect and is very popular
4) I always used the radio coming with the installaled Rom. And had no problems at all.
5) At the moment i use Gummy Rom. Tried Cm9 a few nightlies ago, but actually i like gummy more. Still some bugs (camera doesn`t work properly, but 3rd party cam apps do so i don`t care) and the battery life is great. Overall performance is also very good.
thank you for your answeres gonna check the roms

Wildfire S : Backup, Root, Unroot & Best Rom

Hi Team,
First of all i would like to thank each of you'll for sharing your knowledge & helping all individuals who get stuck.
I am a new member in this forum as well as new to rooting. I have read few rooting threads & am excited too to get additional space in my phone.
I am using the phone for more than a year & now my apps list is growing. But the sad part is i have to do away with one app to install the new one as the phone is always out of space.
HTC Wildfire S
Location : India
Android Ver : 2.3.5
HTC Sense Ver : 2.1
Software Number : 2.26.720.3
I request if anyone can help me in getting the below questions answered or can guide me to respective link where i can get answers:
1.How to backup the phone.
2.In case if i need to unroot & get back to the same stock rom, how do i do this.
3.Which is the best stable rom that runs all the applications.
4.My daily use includes: Camera, Camcoder, Internet, Internet pass through, bluetooth. Any stable rom which do not have issues with these applications.
5.Which one is better, WildChild Ver 3, CynogenMod or other, please help with the version also.
6.I wish to root the phone & install a custom ROM, however there should always be a way to go back & undo, as i cannot afford to get a new phone.
Thanks in advance to all who would be helping me in answering all or any of the questions.
Will love to see the xperience from those who have already installed the custom ROM.

Hi,
Welcome to XDA
1. Take backup of your personal data first (Like: Contact, Pics, Videos, docs,etc..)
2. You can get beck to your old STOCK ROM. After rooting your device you will take a complete NANDROID BACKUP, which will restore your previous one. (When needed).
3. I would suggest you to go for the Disciplexone ROM or WildChild 3. Disciplexone ROM was doing good for me, when I had it before CM9.
4. You will get more options than in your list.
You never have to worry about anything, since the device will make wonders after you root. (But more caution required).
Hope this may be useful. (If really press 'Thanks').

Hey welcome here.
1. There are many ways to take backup. I suggest you take a nandroid backup (i.e. backup with cwm recovery) just after you flash a custom recovery. It'll restore the phone in as it is state if something goes wrong.
For apps and all i generally use Titanium Backup. It works great.
2. There is a thread for stock ROMs in Android Development Forum here. You'll find yours there.
3. Umm That is a tuff question. For me CM9 does but it has some minor bugs if they don't affect you.. JB is still in development so I won't recommend it. Go for CM7 or any GB rom as they are mostly free of bugs.
4. Disciple1's ROM, Sense 3.5 EQDKP, Wildchild and CM7.
5. I don't know what to say about it as I installed the first version of WC3 and I came back to CM9 in a day. It was really unstable for me. Maybe just me.
6. Just unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery and then make a nandroid. the bootloader will be unaffected though.
7. Oh there aren't any.

[Q] Help with CM10 for RogersvS3

Hi I am completely new to flashing ROMs and stuff and I need some help with my Rogers Galaxy S3. I want to run CM10 on it because I don't like the original ROM due to battery life, and all the bloated software. Here are my questions:
1) How do I backup everything incase something goes wrong?
2) What is the latest version of CM10 that is daily driver material?
3) What is the exact process for this? (please link to guides)
4) How do I go back to original ROM in case I don't want CM10 anymore?
So many questions, thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully I can get some answers!

[Q] What ROM to use?

Hi! I just recently got a Galaxy S3 t999 to replace my old phone. It came with Jellybean 4.3 so I had some problems unlocking the SIM. Anyways, I want to install another ROM since I don't really like the one it came with (for some reason some apps keep crashing). I've been checking on the ROMs on this forum and there are many, so many in fact idk what to pick. I just want three things from my ROM:
1. To keep the "screen mirroring" function.
2. To avoid locking my SIM again (I don't really know if flashing a ROM can affect that, which is why I am asking).
3. A somewhat stable release. I don't really plan on getting experimental with my phone, I just want it working properly.
Which one would you recommend based on those points? I hope someone can answer my question and thank you for your time!
