Are you rooted?
You can't install it. You need to make it a system app, for which you need root. You can search for details on rooting and converting apps to system apps.
Thanks for the replies but yes I do have a rooted HDH, so I should just look up google how to turn .AOL to system app?

What device and which ROM? Don't expect proper answers if you don't provide all the needed information.

Keep in mind that gapp.zip that you get from gapp page or rom manager or somewhere else is meant for your rom version( ie android base version) some are for froyo, some for gingerbread, and some for 2.xxx. if they are not compatable, they can cause fc.
Also do a dalvic wipe before you install zip, and do a permission fix before you boot, in case you hsve installed gapp.

Hello,
I recently installed [ROM]22-01-2012|LC ICS 4.0.3 - 1.0.beta4 | AOSP + CM + COMMUNITY on my Desire HD.
For the first day I had no issues and was loving it, however now I have an issue I can't quite figure out. I can browse the Market but anything I try to installed gets a 404 error. I have cleared the app cache and data and even wiped the Dalvik cache but still get this error.
I haven't flashed GAPPS yet not sure if I should or which version. ANyone else have this and know how to fix it?
Thanks for your time!

Build Version 3.4.4
Try downloading market.apk from the web and replace the existing one with that.

Thanks I have tried that and I get the same error. I have tried to push from my PC through the market, using the market itself and through boat browser all generating the same error.
I just reflashed the ROM as it was working but still getting that error.

I have tried to use enabler but it has changed nothing. I find it odd that I have no difficulty browsing the market, it's just the installs that fail. I have tried to install a younger version as well but Titanium Backup doesn't seem to want to remove it. I appreciate your help thus far!
Well not sure if was the enable r or what, but one thing I hadn't tried was to update an app, and that worked! After that I was able to install fresh apps. Weird. Anyway it's all good, mods can lock this thread and I appreciate your help!

Hi there,
I am running JB in my Nexus with Faux´s kernel.
Sometimes when the Play Store announces an update for an app it starts downloading and when it is installing I get an error of "Can not install on internal storage or SD" (something like that). I tried uninstalling the app and installing the updated app but still get the same error. Only way to recover this apps is restoring them from my Titanium backup...
Apps are Enodomondo PRO, Call timer PRO, Tapatalk (paid) and Sound Hound (paid).
Can anyone help me? I also tried fixing permissions...but still can´t update...
THANKS!
Try a different kernel.

Hi. I want a clean ROM having HTC Sense. I want it the closest possible to stock so that everything works although I would not mind if it is unlocked so that I can move apps to sdcard. I cannot download from football's thread as I tried and all roms i tried failed. Is there another one? I am currently running CM9 but I dont like it very much as it is slow and does not have sense.
Thanks
I have made a flashable zip from the RUU HTC Asia India. If you want you can get it here:
Maybe install stock rom with root, then install Dust kernel ( with overclock) then install Link2SD + No-frills CPU+ APP Quarantine --> And You have a stock fast and space free rom
Thanks. I will try these during the weekend and let you know.
link2sd
Hi. I really thank you for your help. I found this ROM really good, exactly how I had it when I got the mobile. I have only one problem so far. I installed link2sd however when I try to move apps such as facebook it fails and says that it cannot get root access. In a forum I found that I should install the superuser app. I did this however when I opened link2sd I did not get the message to allow superuser rights and I still could not move apps. IS there a solution for this please?
Thanks

It says that my device is not rooted. I had rooted it before. Can you guide me to the easiest way to root it again?
Thanks
I replied to your PM. Check it.

I use Foxhound 2.0, but when i update to 3.0 or higher (i think it uses the new firmware?) It breaks a number of apps with the "app isn't installed" notification. how can i fix this issue?
when i flash i use TWRP and i dont wipe the data because i dont want to lose certain things, like pictures and sms stuff. I know i can use titanium backup, but it doesn't restore the apps with the error.
