Computer won't recognize phone - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So, My phone isn't being recognized by computer. With or without the battery in. USB port works since it's just been replaced but my computer isn't showing OMAP when I connect it. The phone is bricked I assume but is it fully bricked? Download/recovery doesn't work and toolkit doesn't work.
Any thing I can do to test what the issue really is?
Thanks,

[Q] USB connection

Ok so I am trying to plug my phone into pc using usb cable so i can use odin. But my computer doesn't recognize my device. I've tried everything from uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them restarted pc and phone. nothing works i did get it to read one time and was able to access my sd storage and then i tried to go into download mode and i plugged in usb cable and it didn't recognize so i got out of download mode and it didn't recognize the phone again. Then i plugged in my girls evo and it reads the phone all the time. Is there something wrong with my epic then? how can i fix that problem. seriously getting frustrated!!
Try not to double post. We will get to your issue eventually. Refer to the other case, as it has potential solutions available for your issue.
(I've dealt with this as well.)

Galaxy SII not recognized by computer

Installed the tmobile samsung galaxy SII USB drivers , I am using windows vista and it does not recognize the phone. I tried another vista computer it still can not recognize it. I tried an XP computer, it still can not recognize the phone.

Tried using the USB utilities under settings --> wireless and network

since you install the drivers into multiple computers and tested them all... it might be your phone.
First can you give more detail on what happens when you plug your phone in? Does your computer make any sounds or searches anything?
ALSO Try installing kies.
if that doesn't work either... looks like you need a warranty exchange
Try using an oem Samsung usb to micro usb cable. I had this problem with my Samsung Galaxy Epic a while back. Everytime I used a generic cable lying around my computer would not recognize my phone. When I used a Samsung cable it worked. Your computer should automatically identify your phone using the right cable. If not re-install them and don't forget to restart your computer before attempting to connect to your computer again. Good luck.
I've had this problem too.
Initially I had kies installed and had to launch the program to access the two 'mounted' removable drives.
I assume the drives mount, but you can't access the drives?
If that's the case, look on the phone and pull down the status bar and check to see if it sees the USB connection. Select that, and allow it to connect as USB storage.
thanks guys for all the quick response.
The problem seem to fix itself. After removing and attaching the USB cable a number of times, the PC suddenly recognized the phone.
I don't know what fixed it.
Now, I can proceed to root my phone!

you probably didn't give it enough time for the pc to actually install the needed components.. it takes a good 5-10 mins for everything to finish installing
I'm faced with the same problem. Only different is, as soon as it shows connect to usb from the notification bar if goes away. I tried the usb tool in wireless but still wont work. I tried the samsung cable as well
know it sounds dumb, but have you rebooted lately? mine wouldnt recognize the sd card when plugged into comp....rebooted....all is well

[Q] USB Brick - "USB device not recognized" (no ADB or Fastboot)

Hi guys.
As the title suggest I've run into a USB brick with my Desire HD. I don't know how and can't remember when but it was well after I was flashing custom roms. Basically when I plug it into any PC with any cable it says "USB device not recognized". The phone thinks it's just charging (charges fine otherwise both on PCs and with the normal AC adapter). When I'm in fastboot or hboot it won't say it's in USB mode either.
When I try using Fastboot and ADB on my computer it just says there are no devices connected. I've tried many roms, both with Sense and without going from gingerbread all the way up to ICS and JB with no luck.
I cannot find any solution to this problem anywhere and was just wondering if someone stumbled upon a fix?
My thanks in advance.
Huzi.
[Update]
Plugged it into the USB 3.0 port on my brother's laptop. It turned the phone off. Turned it on and it started installing drivers and it works on there. Haven't tried it out on anything else yet as I'm backing up the files. It turned off the phone and installed it on my computer but didn't work last night. I guess I'll try again once all 11GB are copied over

Zenfone 2 not detected when connected to PC

I was trying to transfer some files to my phone through a USB cable today, but the phone was not recognized by the PC at all (Even though it was working a week or so ago). I had some issues before with the cable needing to be still in a certain position or it would disconnect from the PC, so I tried using another USB cable which didn't work either (I tested both USB cables with another device, and both cables were working and the other device was recognized by the PC).
I also updated the USB drivers on my PC with the official drivers on the ASUS support page, and tried putting my phone in fastboot and recovery mode, but both were still not being recognized by my computer. My phone still charges properly, but I am wondering if the USB port got damaged somehow so that it can't connect to a PC anymore?

uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Ensure that phone is not connected during the process.
also have you upgraded your pc os ? if yes then its a little cumbersome to get the same working...
i changed from stock to cm, it is showing well now ... using RR now
Is your phone encrypted? If so you need to unlock in order for your pc to recognize it.
Thank you both of you for the help, unfortunately, my phone was not encrypted so there was no need to unlock in order for it to be detected. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers didn't work, and my PC was already on windows 10 since a few months ago. I would also prefer sticking to the stock ROM for this phone for now since they keep coming out with updates.
In addition, I tried using a USB OTG cable to see if the phone could detect the USB drive and my phone couldn't (it has worked before, and my old Galaxy Nexus could still detect it). I also tried plugging my dualshock 3 into the phone, and it also couldn't be detected (also had worked before).
It looks like it's actually a hardware issue and my only option is to RMA it now. I'll have to do it at a time when I don't need my phone as much or when I am not as busy.
PS: In case anyone else has this issue in the future, quick charging also no longer works
zenfone2 I also experienced that, and I have tried several ways, but remains unchanged. I was dizzy today :crying:

Bricked P8000 not recognised by PC.

Hi all,
I have been playing with my P8000 for almost twoyears now and I finally managed to brick it!!!!!
While trying to upgrade to TWRP from Philz I most probably moved the flimsy usb cable and managed to brick my device. I tried flashing it many times or even formating it using the SP Flash tool but nothing happens. So I am now left with a P8000 that is only recognised as an unkown USB device even though I have the drivers installed. To make things worse when I unplug the battery and connect to my laptop it does not get recognised at all. I tried to find the KCOLO test point on my board and try to sort it with GND but no point worked since the phone is not even detected in the first place from my laptop.
I would really apreciate any thoughs on what I could try next or if you have simillar experience with this situation.
Cheers,
Kimon
SOLVED!!!!!
I finally managed to revive my phone and put android 6 on it. In case someone else finds him in the same spot as me I am leaving here what I did.
I connected the phone to my laptop without battery and nothing happend, but while connected I went on and shorted with a small cable all the nonamed motherboard connection one by one with Ground. This seemed to have somehow reset the phone to a state where when I connected my battery the laptop recognised the phone as CDC and I was able to flash it.
I hope it is usefll to someone.
Cheers
