Firstly, if u want to come back to stock rom later, flash a recovery(i suggest twrp 2.4.0.0) and make a backup of stock rom. Then, flash a suitable kernel via fastboot(u can find suitable kernel on the rom's thread) and simply flash the rom and gapps via recovery after a full wipe....
See this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1996665
Firstly install recovery and make backup after that flash kernel then rom... u just follow the above link, u ll get it...
Hit thanks if I helped u!!!
put your pacman rom in sd card
http://cyano-rob.tuennerhoff-edv.de/RECOVERY/CWM/GSM/recovery.img download this and save it into fastboot folder (folder from you have rooted your htc one v in pc)
Reboot into hboot
then fastboot
then connect usb cable to Htc one v
open command type the following command
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
for kernel you have to install suitable kernel which supports the rom (save kernel in fastboot folder )
type following cmd in command prompt
-fastboot flash boot boot.img
then go back to Hboot
select recovery
-delete all user data wipe data /factory reset
-install zip from sd card
browse pacman rom and install it
then flash the Gapps (gapps are there in pacman's rom thread you can install it as same as the installing rom)
then reboot simply!
enjoy
wht is gapps nd y i shud intsall it?
wht is gapps nd y i shud intsall it?
Playstore, gmail, google now etc. Are included in gapps..... its approx. 90 mb zip and u have to jst flash it.... u will get the link on rom’s thread....
stuck
hv installed pacman in recovery,,nd reboot bt nw it showing pacman on d screen frm half n hoir,,plz help urgntly
Flash the kernel first.....
Already flashd

have u install the correct kernel check whether its cm9 base or cm10 and ya have you perform wipe data/factory reset in recovery before installing the rom

CWM is no more there after installing a new rom and new rom won't load. Then i have to flash the stock rom again > root it > install CWM. Again when i install any rom it would install normally but nothing gives a blank screen after reboot and the stock rom is not even there.
The situation is occurring with the following;
Phone: Sony Xperia ARC S (LT18i)
Bootloader: unlocked
Android version 2.3.4 (Build 4.0.2.A.42) -
I have made multiple attempts on installing new roms but nothing works. Every time i reboot after installation im left with a blank screen. Can anyone advise what the problem could be ?
Thanks
Did u flash the kernel for the ROM u flashed ? The ROM will not boot without its kernel.

you must be installing CWM into the system through one touch command prompt program.. as such as soon as the ROM changes and you wipe out data and cache, CWM disappears..try flashing a custom recovery kernel which are available even for stock roms.
Also follow these steps for a custom ROM (eg CM9):
download the ROM, extracted it into a folder, copy the boot.img where you can remember, then copy the original cm9 ZIP - not the extracted folder- into the root of SD..use fastboot mode of flashtools to flash the kernel boot.img which you had copied..its a recovery kernel so CWM should open..wipe out SD data..then cache..and then go into advanced option and clear dalvik..and then proceed to install zip from sd..then gapps.zip if u want..it should install fine..and then reboot.
Press Thanks if you think i was of help to you..:good:

Got it - Yes i was installing CWM within stock rom via market. though i tried to install it through adb/windows but still i guess the problem was all about not installing a custom recovery kernel.
Thanks a lot !

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1943412
[ROM] [08/11/12] [4.0.4] Amazing Sense V2.0[Full Sense 4.1][FAST]
But I have no idea how to install it can some one please help me?

You need a custom recovery to install the needed zip files.
sentfromybrain
Did you install a recovery ??
If yes
Boot into bootloader
Go into fastboot
Flash kiss kernel by typing fastboot flash boot boot.img(optional but recommended )
Then go into recovery
Install zip from sd card
And select the Rom and you will go into a installation process (aroma installer)
Then just wait for the phone to boot
First off, I want to state that I'm a complete noob at everything. Okay so today I tried to install IceColdJelly v3.2 from CyanogenMod 10, following the instructions on the page. When I tried to flash the the rom, I got a failed error. After that, I decided to just reboot my phone but now it gets stuck on the CyanogenMod load screen, then reboots itself and loops all over again. Is there anything I can do? My phone doesn't appear on my PC when I plug it in. I'm completely clueless as to what to do now so please help me!
Thanks in advance.
Do you have the required hboot to run 4.2.2 roms?
Failed while installing rom means either a not supported hboot/base or corrupt download... just redownload the rom and extract the boot.img from it and put it in your fastboot folder and then do the following.
1. Go to recovery and go to mounts and storage>Mount usb and put the ICJrom.zip and gapps on your phone...
2. Wipe data/cache partition/dalvic and then flash the ROM and then gapps..
3. Go to bootloader and then flash the boot.img via fastboot and then fastboot erase cache
4. Reboot

When you change your rom you need to wipe data from recovery.

Always flash custom rom through custom recoverys only (not from stock rom). Flash TWRP or CWR or Philz recovery first and then flash custom rom.
After flashing custom rom or stock rom, first wipe data and cache (as above said) before rebooting.

get into recovery flash this file http://d-h.st/fWr u will loose evrything from internal memory, now after it reboot to recovery just flash your rom but dont reboot after installation.
first click fix permission
then wipe cache and dalvik atleast twice
then reboot!
it should load the rom fine, and i would suggest to stay with philz recovery and create a backup of efs and rom both the terminal way and through recovery too

I hope u are rooted and have a custom recovery installed if yes then its a script to clean wipe the rom to start a fresh install better known as dirty flash so when u flash the zip it will wipe ur cache, dalvik, system on recover and will automatically reboot to recovery then u can proceed wth any custom rom u want the latest philz recovery is recommended.i am using my phn yo reply and already 4am morning here so be sure what you are doing , give complete info of ur phn status as wht u hv done till now if u have all as mentioned abv then u r good to go and flash, but in ur case the flash of the file was not successful so u can manually wipe all mentined above and procced as instructed.
Its an instruction for custom rom and recovery if u have stock then just wipe cache and dalvik and try booting up.
Off to sleep
If you are unsure of what u r doing then try to get hands on odin and flash stock rom ,as messing up to much may damage ur pit partition
