E4GT on Virgin Mobile - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I'm fully experienced with my SII E4GT and currently running Jellyverse and know the ins and outs of rooting/modding/roms etc..
However, I am not familiar what it would take to use my phone on another carrier besides sprint.. Do I just need the kernel for that rom?
A friend wants to get virgin mobile service... They charge $299 for the Galaxy S2 4g. I have a rooted and custom modded E4GT. If I gave that phone to my friend, what would it take to be able to activate and use through Virgin Mobile w/4g?
I did find this but still am not sure what I'd have to do to run my Sprint E4GT on Virgin Mobile network with full features.

The stated thread above is all the info we have on it. Should work, but only on outdated eclair roms that have iptables. It's not worth the hassle of you ask me, and if you're with metro because of the rates, and prepaid, i suggest you switch to Virgin Mobile. You buy a cheap Samsung intercept, follow my Epic 4G to Virgin Mobile guide in android development, and you'll get sprint service in just about anywhere, without worrying if you're in a metro coverage area. The only downside I've found with virgin mobile is that there is no roaming, while metro is unlimited free roaming. The choice is yours in the end, but it'll be way too complicated to get everything working with metro, and even then, the speeds are not going to be anywhere close to 3G speeds.

Also, consider Boost mobile..

[Q] What can The Epic be flashed too?

Hi a friend of mine wants to trade his Epic 4g Touch for my Evo Shift. I'm pretty sure it's worth the trade but before I do I wanna know what's possible on it first.
What all carrier(s) can the Epic be flashed to?
What's the best performing/fastest carrier available?
And is the flashing process easy?
Thanks in advance

First he's either trading off a bad device or doesn't understand his E4GT is superior in all ways to the Evo Shift.
Get the ESN and call Sprint to make sure it's clean.
Make sure he hasn't damaged it in any way, internal or external.
There are several Galaxy SII's so check the model number. Ours is SPH-D710 which I think can only be supported by Sprint, although it seems like there's a post somewhere about flashing it to Boost and US Cellular. (Found the links)

Keep in mind phones that run on Sprint can not run on AT&T or Verizon networks. (I stand correct, thanks booksyx) apparently it can be flashed to Verizon.
Flashing on this phone is super easy so long as you read and follow all instructions and when in doubt, ask questions. There are several incredible ROMs currently for this phone of both Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich flavors. Read in the development section to see for yourself.
The post above me has many incorrect statements.
The epic 4g touch can run on almost any CDMA network. I currently have mine running on Virgin Mobile. It can also be flashed to boost mobile, cricket, metro pcs, verizon, etc.
They key to getting it working on those networks is to have a donor phone where you can extract all the NAM keys, esn/meid, and data keys and flash them to the epic 4g touch. Really isnt to hard once you have all the keys to write them.
My epic 4g touch has everything working on virgin mobile. Calling/SMS/MMS/3g/Wimax. However you will have to go elsewhere for a wimax solution. Best part is I only pay $25 a month for all this!
The ESN is clean and it's also relatively new. Not 100% sure what the exact model is but i'll find out when he gets off work.
The whole reason he's making the trade is because EVO is his favorite phone. He was going to trade me his iPhone 4 for my EVO but then I found out that even if I flash the iPhone 4 that Data and MMS dont function fully. So I didnt want that.
But If the Epic is that much more superior that makes me want it more now, as long as I can get it fully functional on a prepaid service that is.
I wasn't aware there was so many different versions. Because he didnt tell me it was an Epic, all he said was Galaxy S II. So I ended up posting in the wrong forum. But his is Sprint though so everyone said it's an Epic 4g Touch.
That's good that it's relatively easy to flash. I personally prefer boost, but whatever is fully functional and runs the fastest
*Edit
Does every carrier require a donor phone to Flash to?

Many incorrect? lol I see one (oh make that two, didn't know that about Verizon) and that's why I said thinks like *I think* as in I'm not 100% sure, just going on what I've recently read here on XDA.
Thanks for clarifying that though.

[Q] Flash a SPH-L710 to boost mobile

I'm sorry if i broken any rules i'm new this, i just receive a s3 i order from ebay a few days ago i wanted to flash the sprint L710 to boost mobile using a samsung prevail as a donor phone i went through hours of reading comments on xda and many others forum and i also watch like 40 vids on youtube but 98% of them was showing s3's that was flash to boost with no description how it was done or what kind of s3 it was. I'm starting to lose hope about flashing this phone im to the point of paying someone to flash it for me but i dont know who to ask or where to go to.
P.S will the cmda L710 be capable boost mobile gsm network once its flashed

Boost mobile is cdma by the way, it runs on Sprints network

Flashing help.

I want to change my carrier. I currently have sprint. What are my choices and what are the drawbacks of each? Will I still be able to use MOAR ROMs? Ive never done this before any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Page Plus prepaid is great it uses Verizon network. granted your limited to 3G but man their 3G is crazy fast compared to Sprint. I had both my phones Flashed to Page Plus by a authorized dealer Evo 4G LTE & GS3 and I don't regret it. Everything works data/mms/sms. Now granted I had to use Verizon Messages app off Play Store to be able to send mms.
Now with in the last month or so Straight Talk offers service for CDMA phones I'm wanting to try that route next Friday and see how that works. I unlocked my brothers AT&T GS3 and activated it on Straight Talk Unlimited and hell he gets LTE.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
Thank you so much. What Roms Will I be able to use after I flash? I use MOAR now Can I still?
Does anybody know if after flashing can I still use any S3 roms?

Thinknig of using Sprint GS3 on Metro! Questions!!

Hi,
I have a Sprint GS3 running 4.3 stock that I am contemplating bringing over the metro. I have a few questions for the experts here:
1. Is there a stock Metro pcs rom that I can load on this phone? Purpose would be to automate things like update PRL button to work for metro, Visual voicemail to work and remove sprint bloatware and use metro bloatware (ha).
2. Phone seems to be fine with talk and text but no data. I have looked at the guides over here but so far, no go. Anyone can help me find out what is my SID??
Thanks

T-mobile purchased them a while back. They quit selling CDMA phones last year and will discontinue support next year. I'm sure CDMA coverage with metro pcs isn't much better than Sprint right now either...plus, how much will they support existing towers? And doesn't Metro PCS 'flash' your phone for you? I thought it was one of those places. You should visit a store or look online regarding this.
