On the stock rom can one enable sliding across the notification bar to adjust brightness like in other touchwhiz roms? I could not find the toggle for it.

I love that feature on my Galaxy SII. I suppose the Note 2 does not come with it?
I could be wrong but I think that feature stopped showing up on stock builds with ICS. I haven't been exposed to a wide variety of ICS/JB stock touchwiz experiences though, so like I said I could be wrong.
Too bad if that is the case.

Hello to all,
Is it possible top hide navbar when is not needed? Just like when that thing hides itself in videos or YouTube app. I am on JB androidme rom.
Thanks.
I use LMT and disable the navbar
It is great
You can only hide it completely and use an alternate gesture launcher etc. It won't actively appear and hide unfortunately and no hack has added that exact functionality.
+1 for LMT and Full Screen Toggle...awesome to have the full screen in all my apps now.
What is LMT?

PA has an expanded desktop option, that makes it full screen at will.

The ONLY thing I dont like about the Samsung Galaxy S2's stock ROM is the toggles in the notification bar. Any way to change them?
Err... that's the _only_ thing?
I didn't think the notification panel can be changed in anything stock... that's Tmo and Samsung's way to make it "idiot proof"
Toggles arent even good... And yes, i really like stock. Runs perfect, great battery life, looks good, etc.

Has anybody done this, without getting a custom ROM?

Rushing's ROMs are pretty much stock, with custom toggles. I've heard nothing but good things from them.

I currently use Power Toggles on the verizon Galaxy Nexus running JellyBelly 9.1. Is there a way to have the notifications stay on top but not have a notification icon? I used to be on Paranoid Android and it had notification toggles built in without the notification icon. Is there any way I could get that on the JellyBelly rom?

Widgetsoid from the market keeps it on top with the ability hide the icon in the status bar but that place remains empty like if there was something invisible there

Yes that is also an option in Power Toggles but I want to get rid of the empty space completely.
Don't think its possible. In order to display something in the notification shade (like toggles), it has to be tied to a notification icon too.

Is is only possible in custom roms? Because I tried ParanoidAndroid and it had notification toggles on top without any notification icon.
Yup. Custom ROMs only. If it were possible, why would these toggle apps have to have a notification?

Its available in custom roms cause they mod the status bar itself
All these apps do is borrow some space on it

No apps are possible to do that. Google don't let them. Toggles you see on custom ROMs are all built in to the ROM itself, so that's why it doesn't show the notification.

I switched to AOSP type roms now from touchwiz. The only concern i was wanting to get an answer for is how to regain the brightness slider on the new 4.2 rom types.
I like the new style of 4.2, especially the Chronus lock and widget options.
If anyone has any sort of answer or fix for this that would be awesome.

The newest release of Tasks ROM has both of these features, the Chronus clock was just added and the brightness slider is there as well.
OK cool, Im running tasks now, unless there is a more current one, this was downloaded about 2 days ago

And I should also be more descriptive, I would prefer the brightness slider in the status drop down, not as a link to the slider.

In Task's ROM he doesn't have the actual slider in the notification tray, but rather you just slide your finger across the notification bar to change brightness.

Sure do miss that from the 4.1.2 days I know most AOSP ROMs offer the feature to slide the bottom bar to adjust brightness, as well as the toggle that pops up with a toast notifcation with the slider, but I really do like having it set in the notification panel.
Suggestions?
I'm curious too but I'm interested in a way to get the cm like slider where you just slide the drag down bar. Recently switched to PA and no such goodness on it
