I currently use Power Toggles on the verizon Galaxy Nexus running JellyBelly 9.1. Is there a way to have the notifications stay on top but not have a notification icon? I used to be on Paranoid Android and it had notification toggles built in without the notification icon. Is there any way I could get that on the JellyBelly rom?

Widgetsoid from the market keeps it on top with the ability hide the icon in the status bar but that place remains empty like if there was something invisible there

Yes that is also an option in Power Toggles but I want to get rid of the empty space completely.
Don't think its possible. In order to display something in the notification shade (like toggles), it has to be tied to a notification icon too.

Is is only possible in custom roms? Because I tried ParanoidAndroid and it had notification toggles on top without any notification icon.
Yup. Custom ROMs only. If it were possible, why would these toggle apps have to have a notification?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Its available in custom roms cause they mod the status bar itself
All these apps do is borrow some space on it
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
No apps are possible to do that. Google don't let them. Toggles you see on custom ROMs are all built in to the ROM itself, so that's why it doesn't show the notification.

Hi all
Is there a quick toggle mod for the notification drop down menu like found on stock TouchWiz and Sense devices? Not looking for widgets on the "desktop"
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
You can try Widgetsoid in the Market. It will allow you to place themed toggles in the notification area without a widget. Just make sure you select "hide widgets".
That could work, however, I was looking more for a hard mod that could be flashed in there, like in past devices that I've used that didn't feature this by default (back in the Sense 2.1 days).
Like this? Its available on this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383210

I haven't seen a separate mod. You can always ask the rom developer to make a flashable zip for you.

Yes, as long as the major toggles are all there (wifi, bt, gps, etc...) that is exactly it. Of course, on Touch Wiz, it's just one horizontal line of toggles (like the widget on the Nexus), and that is the cleanest. On sense 3.0, it's a vertical list of toggles.

I tried turning on the notification toggle in widgetsoid, it doesn't even show up for me.
Also, seeing how the music player can have different buttons in the same row, I don't see why it can't be possible for other apps to use this functionality too.
Edit: Widgetsoid works perfectly, almost exactly the same as the CM toggle bar (sans the side scrolling)
Someone should be able to make a new app for ics,
you can add buttons in the dropdown now so it should be possible with out a custom rom or even root
Is this what you are looking for?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037817
"With this app, you can place different toggles into your Android status/notification bar for quick access without having a dozen toggle-widgets on your homescreens
You can choose which toggles to display in the settings of the app. You can also choose to combine different toggles into one "all in one" notification.
Unfortunately, on most devices you can only define one action per notification, so on these it will show a small dialog with the available toggles when clicking on the "all in one" notification. But some devices (seems like all devices with HTC Sense ROM) can distinguish where in the notification you clicked and on these you don't have to see the dialog.
The app is for free in the Android market, would be nice to get some feedback"
The only thing keeping me from going to JB is I need the status bar toggles. If any devs can see this that would be awesome. Has anyone else gone to jellybean and returned to ice cream sandwich because of the lack of toggles?

yeah I tried it I'm just gonna wait until it gets baked into a Rom. Not enough to deter me from getting a belly ache from playing with Jelly beans though!
You can even customize Notification Toggles with holo style buttons.

I remember seeing an option within the app to keep it at the top. However, when I checked that box there was a system notification explaining this gave the app access to all your typed information including credit card numbers (excluding passwords). The implementation it uses is through accessibility service so I'm guessing that's why. I left that option off but for the few hours I used the app it kept the toggles at the top even with the option turned off.

Elixir 2 is also working as notification bar toggles, even with Flashlight. It's in the Playstore.

Extended controls also work good a little more customization and the flashlight actually works. its a $1.

Why do all of these have to have a notification icon in upper left? Even set at transparent you can still tell there's a place holder there since any other notifications would be moved one spot to the right.

Because it's essentially an interactive notification. Without an icon it wouldn't exist
I remember one of the first ROMs i flashed on my nexus was Code Name Android, and it had the option to hide the navigation bar on the lock screen only.
is this something that can easily be implemented into JB? i noticed it was taken off of ROMs because it interfered with incoming calls when the screen was on (wasn't able to answer call) just curious if it was ever fixed or if this is a simple mod that i could do myself with some layout tweaks or something.
anyone have a clue?
I use Widgetlocker - lock screen replacement app, and it has an option to hide the navigation bar. I highly recommend it, very customizable with tons of sliders/themes to choose from and is very light on using system resources and draining battery.

you sure about that? i know it has the option to hide the navigation bar buttons, but the black bar is still there.
i want the wallpaper to go from the notification bar all the way down to the bottom of the screen.

Oh okay. If that's the case then you'll need to go a different route. Widgetlocker just blacks it out.

i want to have toggles like wifi bt data etc etc in notification menu in stock jelly bean rom...?? is there any mod to do so? please help.. i dont wannt flash another rom for just these toggles
I don't think so, most notification bars are tied to the ROM and not the Launcher... But I'm not 100% sure on that.

Just install Power Toggles from Play Store. No need for rooting or modding
The user above typed faster than me.

Widgetsoid has more customization than power toggles. I suggest to try widgetsoid. Search in play store

i would recommend widgetsoid or notification toggle from the play store.
Both work great.
The newest version of Switch Pro Widget added an option to put your widget in the notification tray. Loving it so far.

Do you mean in the pull down notification menu?

This looks like what you're talking about... But it just creates a constant notification icon that you can customize: which is the next best thing you jelly bean.
EDIT - Found it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44121985
Good day,
Flashed to CleanRom and it's going great. One thing I would like to have is a battery percentage on the top notification bar (or a circle, similar to Paranoid Android). My main gripe with ordinary apps is that they add the percentage, but then the stock battery is still there. My OCD kinda hates that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
You can download a battery meter from the Play store for this. Some people then use custom ROMs to just disable the stock battery on the right side.
I personally just use a custom rom. CM10.2 Kanged rom has the circle battery, battery bar, percentage, and others. Also supports CM Themes which can spice things up quite a bit.

is there a battery widget app that works best with this? most of them are outdated and only work if you actually go into the app...not from the status bar
Power Toggles on play store has a small widget in status bar, and the pull down has selectable quick toggles. I love the app, personally.
