[REQ] hide navigation buttons - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

is there a way to do so? without hiding the notification bar as well?

Hi,
Just add this line in your build.prop file :
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Done !
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

And reboot
Make sure to have an alternative for navigation before you do though

It's a build.prop edit so need to reboot.
Don't use the "expand desktop" option in power menu/LMT/PIE.
More clear there :

i wish I could help because I am holding off updating until there is a way to hide the bar. I can't stand that bar.
+1
+1 For me.
i'm interested to ....
is there a way to set the home button to toggle (hide/unhide) the statusbar? it would be nice to just press the home button and hide/unhide the statusbar.
That would be a great mod!

maybe our developers in xda can try working on this. it would be a big help to get fullscreen when we want to by just simply pressing the home button.
now that we have root the old method should be doable?

I tried the old method... but no luck. (hide honey bar, gesture control lite)
nothing is working..
Update's regarding this topic?
GestureControl Lite root works in ICS.

[Q] Is there a way to disable the softkeys all together?

I am on the paranoidandroid rom and was wondering if i could disable the softkeys completely and rely on the on screen nav bar

First off just a correction ...
softkeys are "Software Keys" so the "On Screen" keys are soft keys .....
As far as disabling the Hardware keys, there used to be an app that let you disable buttons, but not sure if it works on the sgs2 ....
I'll look around for one, thanks

I was wondering the same thing earlier... if your using nova launcher hold down on the home screen and select shortcuts then activities then select Galaxy sII settings. Then just dissable key backlight.
Hope that helps
Edit - after re-reading what you wrote I realized you meant how to completely dissable them. I'm not really sure how you would do that. Well, good luck

[Q]Sofkeys hidden in games, LS and HS

Hello!
I actually use a Xperia Z with softkeys hidden and the LMT Pie mod.
The problem is that I like the navbar in apps like chrome, phone, messages etc.
But I would like to see them dissapear in games, on the homescreen and lockscreen.
Would it be possible?
Thanks.

In fact, I want an automatic mod.
More simple, I would like the navbar to appear when the notification bar is showed.
In games, in the gallery, and on the homescreen, there are disabled (by stock apps or by features or others, like with nova)
Is that possible to detect if the notification bar is showed, and if it is, show the navbar and disable the pie?
Full!screen+ does that
As im new, cant post a link
U have ltm the does the navigation bar thing for u when u press in a certain spot in the screen and full screen toggle hides it. So what do u want. The softkeys are hidden permanent but ltm launcher pops his own half circle navigation buttons on the screen. Basically the same thing just the screen stealing software buttons are gone. Is that not for Ur satisfaction? It works perfectly.

In fact I would like the same as full!screen+, but with a lmt pie that pops up instead of these two quarters of round at the bottom.
EDIT: full!screen+ doesnt work, Nova shows a black bar (without softkeys) and many craches of "UISystem" (not systemUI)
Well u can make ltm launcher also open up the navigation bar left and right doesn't has to be bottom also u can expand the navigation bar and make many short cuts with it.

I bring you a small mod that will add the signal cluster to your extended status bar.
Backup in Twrp and/or backup the original systemui.apk

Could you tweak the main status bar to hide the NFC/Bluetooth/Location icons? Or know of an Xposed module or some way to do it?

I can look into it. Have you tried using g4 tweaksbox? I think it has an option to hide icons, don't remember though.

Tried it. Nothing in Xposed has the ability to do it. I just wanna hide them without having to turn them all off, hah.

I believe you are able to hide them with gravity box. I am using it right now and it works fine.

Didn't hide anything but Bluetooth and that seemed to just turn it off :/
Is there anyway to make the navigation bar smaller ? Like the same size of a Nexus phone would be great.

Installed this and it's great and works perfectly rcale however I've noticed since I installed the percentage of the normal status bar is hidden... I settings the percentage bar is checked but doesn't show. If I deselect and reselect show percentage it shows but then disappears again when screen goes off then back on just an observation

Yeah but we talk about to completely hide the softkeys and not only the "auto-hide" one mean when we swipe up there should be not show up the bar.
