Alright so I've sifted through several threads on here and to be honest, I'm a bit overwhelmed and confused. So I was hoping someone could help me with the issue that I'm having. So I used hasoons all in one toolkit to root my HTC One X and everything worked fine, I got the phone rooted and everything, booted up fine and installed TWRP recovery. Everything was fine until I tried installing Blade v4.6.0 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2027029), I followed the directions and flashed the boot.img, when I rebooted to recovery to flash the rom, the installation failed, I tried installing it several times and it failed. What I'm thinking happened is that I didn't have the proper firmware on the device before flashing the rom and boot.img. From what I can tell the all in one toolkit I used to root the device changed the CID to all 1's and the mainver is 2.20.502.7. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. If you need any more information or if I need to clarify something please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you guys and thank you for taking the time to read this

Pretty sure 2.20.502.7 is for the AT&T one x, does this sound right to you? you are in the Tegra 3 one x forum,
try the at&t forum here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538

I am in the exact same position. Except I am using the tegra 3 version and I am trying to flashing CM10. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Rogers HTC One X that is fully unlocked and rooted. I have multiple apps on the phone that the phone needs to be rooted for and they work great. When i rooted the phone i used the one click root tools. I am trying to flash a new ROM on to my phone, but i cant get CWM to boot. I follow all the steps to flash it on the phone, but then when i do the power and volume - and then click recover, all i get is the HTC screen and then it reboots over and over and over.... until i push power again and start it up again.
Another note, i was able to get the other mod to work, the tradewin or something like that, but for some reason when i use that one it wont actually install the ROM i am trying to install. Its the Android Revolution HD. All the forums i read it says to use CWM but i cant load into it. Does anyone know how to help me with this?
Thank you! :fingers-crossed:

Try and flash CWM recovery over and then do "fastboot erase cache" - do that twice, then try and boot into the recovery without restarting the phone..... you need to choose hboot from the phones screen and then recovery.
what is the command prompt code to erase the cache? i know i saw that before i just cant seem to find it again. I am still a little new with this stuff.
Thank you!

Before you do anything further, can you confirm that you have the international HOX and not Rogers HOX as they talked here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538
Flashing something that is not meant for your device will brick it.
That didn't work. I will explain exactly what i do.
Push power and volume -
Then i click fastboot, plug in my phone and do the CWM
I did that twice
Then after done i clicked bootloader
Then recovery
Phone just keeps restarting. Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks

Sorry i am a huge noob with that. What is the HOX, i used the one click root tool to do everything. How can i check if i have already screwed up the phone?
sorry, the rogers part didn't register in my head before posting..... try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671873
HOX is shortform of Htc One X.
You really need to make sure you flash the right CWM. The one for International HOX will not work for Rogers HOX.

None of the International Htc One X ROMs will work for you.
For Rogers Htc One X, only ROMs from here will work for you

Hello everyone, I've been using this forum for a few months to download roms for my desire s but this is my first post on here.
Ok here goes. I've successfully rooted and flashed many different roms on my desire s for over a year now but recently brought my girlfriend a wildfire s and have been trying too root it for over a week now. I've tried all the different tools such oas one click and htc manager but I'm really stuck.
The phone came with the bootloader already unlocked and with s on, so I've started trying to flash a few different recoveries with different tools and it reboots and just gives me the white screen with the green htc logo for ages and nothing else, I've also tried putting the recovery file onto my sd card and letting it install from the h boot but it either says cid incorrect update fail or something about model unknown update fail.
I've been trawling this forum for the last week and tried so many different things but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
My HTC Desire HD gets stuck on the HTC screen when I try to boot it.
I am kinda new to this, so I should not have done what I did. I got this phone used and I rooted it, and tried to install a custom ROM.
And something went wrong, likely I didn't prepeard the phone the right way.. And of course, I have been serching a lot on the web, some things don't work and other this requires tools that have a bad download link or outdated.
So my question is: How do I make my phone like normal? Like unrooting and removing everything if possible..
Would be so great if someone could help me out or just by linking me to a working tutorial.
Thank you and have a nice day. And please, ask if something is unclear or if you have questions.
I have a very similar issue

Hi, I have done a similar thing, in that in an attempt to flash a custom ROM, I removed everything. Now, all ROMs just produce the HTC splash screen.
Please help as this is my only phone !!!
You both need to provide more detail on what state your phone was in to begin with and what you did to it. I have a hunch that your phones are S-On with unlocked bootloaders, and that neither of you flashed the boot.img from fastboot after flashing the ROM from recovery. But more detail on what you have and what you did is necessary.

Yes, you are right. I just flashed the boot.img with fastboot AFTER installing from recovery. Jellytime booted up. I really have to thank you for that.
And again, you are right. The phone is S-Om and bootloader unlocked.
I used a a tool named "EasyUnlockTool". It rooted, unlocked the bootloader and some other things.
But right now, I think I am going to stick to jellytime. But to help caraar12345 and me later if I want to go back to stock room, what kind of information do you need?
Thank you for helping
You can either flash a rooted stock-like ROM from recovery, in which case you'd be mostly stock, or relock your bootloader and run a RUU from your computer in fastboot, in which case you'd be completely stock.

Hey guys,
I dropped my HTC One M8 today, and now it has a crack in the screen.
Well, I wanted to go back to the store to get it replaced under warranty, but I needed to unroot & go back to stock first.
So at home I tried to go back to stock and stuff, but it just didn't work. That is where **** hit the fan.
Right now, I can't boot into Android, can't boot intro recovery. Everytime I start my phone it boots into FASTBOOT USB, and I have the following screen: *see attachment*
I really don't know what to do, I've been searching for serveral hours and my guess is I hard-bricked it...
Please, please tell me there is a way to make it boot into android again...?

Do you still have TWRP installed? Boot into recovery from your bootloader, and restore a backup. (You should have made one before you tried returning to stock)

Yea being s-on I don't think you can what is your cid and what carrier do you have maybe someone can modify one of the ruus to work with your cid cause it seems the ruu is checking your cid and it doesn't match for the ruu so it isn't working. Have you tried reflashing twrp and seeing if you can enter recovery again then maybe restore one of the backups from the backups thread. I don't know how much help I can actually be cause I'm just a flasher hopefully someone with more experience and knowledge can jump in and help you I'm just suggesting what I would do in your situation. I hope you get your phone booted again though

Third of all, HTC US is different than other regions. Most of the other RUUs that have been made available are not found on HTC's websites. Most are leaked versions, I believe.
And no. It isn't in any RUU threads on XDA.

What exactly is "the finish line"? Like @bigp951 said, we need more details. Please list everything you've done to this point and exactly what you're doing that returns that error.
I'm no expert but the process i used was.
- Get phone, Unlock bootloader via htcdev, (hadnt realise the sunshine apk does both unlocking bootloader and s-off at the time >< doh!), then s-off using sunshine, flash custom recovery via fastboot, flash superSU and install superSU apk for root, flash 1.40.401.x firmware with fastboot, flash viper rom (i had to do this twice as the first time an error came up which was helpfully listed in the troubleshooting section of the dev's post for viper, boom, it was all done. Backed up for safety
hope that helps you get to the source of the error.
when you say you flashed supersu and then installed supersu apk, what does that mean? I ask because when you flash the beta-superSu it installs the apk for you. But then again you had to be rooted to get s-off (someone correct me if I am wrong). Also, did you check the md5 before you tried to flash? Did you file a ticket with team viper? What was the error that showed up on the first failed attempt? Did you post on the viperonem9 thread and ask them for help? what is your cid and mid? supercid may help... and what is the current state of the phone? Is it still working?? Can you go into recovery? Still lots of questions.
If you want a clean slate to start over with find the CORRECT RUU and run it. Then you will be stock all over again (disclaimer--Find the RUU thread and follow instructions completely).
Obviously I am no expert either. I just run through the troubleshooting list when problems arise. But I try to help or point you in the direction of someone who can.
EDIT- there is also a newer official version of twrp for the m9. As @jollywhitefoot asked, you did not state what the finish line is nor what you were doing to return the error. If you installed the rom and made a backup than it sounds like the phone was working...
