Hey guys , Im using the stock music player(just because i dont feel like buying one) And i have a big collection of music on my phone stored all the time.
Some of them all recently disappeared for some reason. I can find them if I use something like ES File explorer or Root Manager in my internal SD card. But they just wont show up in my stock music player. I also use the stock one for the lockscreen music control(Big +++++ for me)

Not sure how yours got into your music folder, but you should be able to move them using the onboard Files app. The path for my music is /sdcard/external_sd/music, and my ringtones are in /sdcard/external_sd/Ringtones (custom ones I made previously and put on the card). The ones I made with Ringtone Maker are in sdcard/media/audio/ringtones. Not sure where the factory ringtones reside, don't have a problem with them, don't use them, so I haven't found the need to go hunting for them. But you're not talking about the factory ones, are you?
Mine are under ext sd/media/audio/ringtones and none of them show up on my music player

you can install 3rd party apps from market to handle that
Hello everyone! I'm having problems playing some music on the phone. I've used googles music app from market, default htc music app, and cubed player. They all seem to skip over all the songs. However, finding the music in root explorer will play it from there! They are mp3 320 bitrate... I assume not variable quality. Anyone else experience this? I'm on skyraider 1.3 btw. Thanks!
all the music players i've used work fine with my mp3 files. are the songs that get skipped in the same folder as the other files that work? the only thing i can think of is a .nomedia file is placed in their folder, which makes any media invisible to any media player, pics included.
try moving the music that isn't recognized to a different location and check again.
The problem is while i'm listening to music and open the gallery app the player stops the song and start the next.
I am on stock rom and using stock music player, could this be because my memory card? Or just too bad phone for multitasking?
Thanks!

its not the multitasking bad phone for sure.. that's what i can say... i do that and much more all the time....
move your music player to phone memory, then you will be sure its not the memory card
and as the last step try another music player... there are many good ones ... i personally use Uber Music

The music player and the gallery app is on the internal storage, maybe i try to reformat my card, on my desire, recording 720 also lagged, then i reformated my card with 32 swap and now it works.
Ok so i find it out, the gallery app listed some avi files which caused the problem, i put a .nomedia file inside the videos folder and now it works.
hi guys,
I'm on AOKP B31 with Franco r130 kernel
For some reason my music files will not show up in any of my music apps (google play or songbird.
I know the files are there and the only way I can get the music to play is to manually open the file through es file explorer and use the es music player. If I try to manually open the file and try using google play or songbird both apps will crash.
I've already deleted the one .nomedia file I saw in my music folder and rebooted the phone and I get the same problems.
If you need more info please let me know but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks guys!
*Forgot to mention that I've also tried reinstalling the music apps as well with no success.
**I fixed it. Not sure what was going on, but i took my music files out of the music folder, deleted the music folder, then created a new music folder, transferred music back in, cleared data for both music apps, and now it works. Not sure what was going on....
Try rebooting your device. If that doesn't work install winamp or poweramp to see if the problem exists there to.
Note: m4v or other apple produced media files will not be added to play music or google based music apps. Poweramp and winamp do!
If you love google play music make the music folder on your computer stream it's media to google play online using music manager and play it on your phone from the cloud.
If you like to convert your media to mp3, ogg or flac (best supported on android)
Use a free program called foobar. I like it because it allowes me to batch edit music tags in most formats, batch convert them and because it's free without needing to sign up for anything.

Thank you very much for your suggestions but I've already fixed the issue.
As I stated in my updated post above, it was strange because I had to delete the music folder and create a new one to load the files back into. After that it worked as normal. Never ran into that problem before and I never expected to fix the issue with what I had to do.
Again, thanks though for your suggestions!
Hi Forum,
I got a stock music play that cannot see my mp3. I got an old version of ClearRom. I did a factory reset and configured it for my wife. But I now having a problem with the stock player. I cannot see the mp3. First I got it on the SD card, then I moved the mp3 on to the internal sd, into the Music folder. Still, the music player cannot not see the mp3.
Thank you for looking,
I had this problem before what i did is move everything back to ext sd and make sure them in a folder just called Music and after get a app called player pro, when you have it go to settings music library and hit refresh media store and there it will read all your music this is the way i do it and it works without flashing anything or even root just an app
