Everyone,
I posted a guide here to enable font sizes in ICS builds.
I will likely still edit it for anyone that wants it but I wanted to share it with the community and hopefully get it into more custom ROMs as well.
If you're interested in doing it yourself, the guide can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1659941
I've attached a settings.apk which belongx in /system/app should you want font sizes on this release.
Enjoy.
Great write up OP-Barnacles10. Thanks hit.

UVLI4 and instructions may be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895400
You can just do gapps if you like. Instructions on rom update maybe found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143784
Flashing UVLI4 is done in the same way as jb 4.2.1 and gapps 12.12.12 though. So if you want clearer calls and faster gps locking you can do it. OTH, if you're happy with your radio's performance as it's not required. YMMV.

Seeing how your just getting started on this one, you're welcome to follow leebert's suggestion to start over and see if that doesn't solve the problem. Sometimes its the best way. And if you follow the instructions, I linked to earlier you're pretty much guaranteed success.
On a second attempt, I would at least:
Wipe dalvik -> Wipe cache -> Flash UVLI4 -> Flash JB ROM -> Flash gapps -> Fix permissions
Reboot -> Cross fingers -> Let sit for at least 10 min
On a third attempt, I'd read & follow these instructions to the letter:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143784
I was hoping that I didn't have to do a factory reset to have this ROM properly work, but that was not the case. I had to reset and reinstall the ROM. Now its running fine and I'm still on UVLH1. What are the benefits to running with UVLI4?

No it will not get its own sub forum. It will be like the T999V where there's really not a lot to worry about as long as you stay away from the rest of the firmware.
Roms, recoveries, and kernels only!
Things will get simpler as time passes. And we will see some roms based off the T999L, but I wouldn't expect many.

Correct. I call roms, roms. And Firmware can be any combo that includes other partitions to be flashed.
Wicked should be fine. I am assuming that an ICS rom will eork, but don't know for sure. Nandroid your current to be safe. You will also need to flash an ICS kernel. Pretty sure any of the ones I've got listed in the other thead won't work.

Well the v10 is actually a jb 4.1.1 build not ics... but its aroma installer so your forced to pick stock or deviant kernel during the install which may cause to fail not giving me option to flash your uvuamb7 kernel after the install if it fails during the aroma install... see this is what confuses me, I'm no noob but I also don't wanna Brick or Bork this new phone. ...

Lol! Oops! Been a bit since I've thought about 4.1.1. Sorry bout that.
Pick whichever kernel you prefer from aroma. As I said in the other thread if the rom includes a kernel, you don't need to worry about it.
In the event you do flash one without, you can use either of the kernels. They both work.
Was something not clear in my thread? Was pretty sure I had that covered.
And lets have further questions there if you don't mind. Best to keep the info together.

Honestly every ROM we have has something unique to offer. If you want spen functionality and wifi calling stick with touch wiz. Jedi and tweaked are both great and by far the most popular, but like I said the others are nice too. Ultimately no one can tell you which ROM to run and this thread will get locked by a mod eventually because these always turn into ROM bashing which just discourage development.
The best bet is to make a backup flash a ROM and run it for a couple days then if you want to try something different give that one a shot.

Thanks! Loving the Tweaked Rom...I have one question though. How do I flash the modificatinator after flashing the rom? I mean, do I just boot into twrp and install it, do I need to wipe davlik or something? Thanks for the help guys!

Click to collapse
Just boot into recovery, wipe caches and flash away

You can also use root explorer to extract anything you need from it like an app for example and move it to your system app folder fix permissions reboot and boom its installed.

Best Touchwiz Rom - Tweaked
Best AOSP Rom - Slimbean (most stable for me, AOKP would be the best if it didn't have the wakelock issue)
Edit* Nvm slimbean is starting to give me some FC issues
XDA is a development site not a support site. As such members are expected to do the research, read through the development threads and decide what is BEST for them. The only results that would be posted here are what each member has found to be BEST for them by experimentation based on their phone/usage/setup/apps/signal strength. Please take the time to read through those development threads to learn all about the software you are about to drastically alter your very expensive device with.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
