I just did a clean install of euroskank 4.2.1 Rom. I am having an issue now with the setup of att visual voicemail app. It installs ok but when I enter my vvm password it just chuggs and never saves the passwd.
Is this a known issue?

Have you contacted att might be a problem on there end make sure they have your phone setup for vvm

Yes, It was working properly with the stock ROM. All I did was wipe and flash 4.2.1 then re-installed vvm from play store. I've also tried clearing cache/data and removing/reinstalling the app.

I'm also having the same issue, I'm on the CM10.1 nightlies currently (1/30). Reset AT&T VM password and everything, but it just hangs on "updating account" from within the Visual Voicemail app after entering the new vm password.
It might not work right with 4.2.1 have not tried it for a long time

When I moved to 4.2.1 I started using google voice to manage my voicemails. Routes to the google voicemail box instead of att voicemail box and with GV you can even integrate the vmail into your call log. It's really easy to setup and I honestly prefer it now. While this doesn't fix your problem, I would recommend looking into it.
Also the text email conversions crack me up.
Not sure if its a 4.2.1 rom issue, i was on 4.2.1 Liquidsmooth beta2 and I remember it working then. It wasnt until I went and upgraded to 4.2.1Beta 3 that I start noticing an issue, im currently on Beta 3.2 with same issue.
I read somewhere on Task's ROM that the AT&T app isn't updated for 4.2. But setup google voicemail and that will work.

So ... was there a question? lol. Are you trying to ask how to fix that?
Try clearing the cache of the voicemail application. settings > applications > manage applications
I was having this same issue after foolishly trying Gvoice (no I wont use it for texts and calls), anyways, I looked and I had no cache to delete in the VM app, but I cleared data, that triggered it to 'check account settings'... prompted me to make a personalized greeting etc... so that may do the trick...
I had the same problem. I actually unistalled it using titanium backup, the reinstalled it. (Took the new working one from regeneration 1.1.1 using astro file manager. Didn't extract it. Just went into the rom zip. Then system,apps,cm-provider (something like that.)and installed it) Worked perfect for me.

If you are on any Gingerbread ROM the voicemail app was not included with the leak. When I restored Froyo's version on my GB it started a serious battery drain so I removed it. Youmail is a good substitute.
After having VVM issues on GB I.switched over to GVoice. Its pretty good IMO.

Did you install the rom fresh? Make sure there are no network issues in your area.
I had the same issue. I've got a few questions first.
1. Are you using Google Voice?
2. If yes, is your Sprint number integrated with Google Voice?
3. What kernel are you using?
4. What baseband radio version are you using?
5. What hboot version are you using?

It's an issue with Google Voice. Not Gingerbread. There are a countless number of people, myself included, that have had this issue. SMS issues like this are only part of the problem as well. Some people don't receive calls. Some cant make calls. Some can't receive voicemail. Some receive other peoples' voicemail. I used to use Google Voice all the time. But this last iteration of it they really screwed everything up.

When you open the Google Voice app for the first time you have to go through a setup process. There are two ways to go through this process. One is to integrate your Sprint # with Google Voice (you automatically enter this mode when you press "next" on the first setup screen) and the other is to use just the voicemail portion without integration (this is accomplished by pressing "skip" on the first screen of the Google Voice setup screen.
I accidentally integrated my Sprint number with Google Voice when I setup the app. This was a HUGE mistake as I lost all ability to receive text messages on my phone due to Google's crappy development of sms handling of Google Voice. I spent the next 2 months scouring xda, the internet, Google forum support, Sprint forum support, Sprint tech support, and every possible resource you can think of for a solution. I found an endless number of people that were having the same, and in some case worse, problem than I. But I never found a single shred of helpful information. So I decided to just take my phone into Sprint and pray they say it's a hardware issue and give me a new phone. But my last ditch effort proved to completely fix my problem and I now receive text messages just like I used to before I installed Google Voice. So here is what worked for me.
Details: You are basically going to return your phone to bone stock as if you had just purchased the phone. So the process I explain is going to unroot and return you to stock ROM, turn S-on, and revert your Hboot back to stock. It is also going to remove your Google Voice account (trust me, this is a good thing) So please make sure you do a backup of all your data, app preferences, and apps if you wish, so that you do not lose anything.
1. Log into your Google Voice account online. (from a computer or your phone's browser)
2. In the top right of the page you will see a little icon that looks like a cog (a gear). Click that icon and select "Voice Settings."
3. Looking back at the main part of the page you'll see the details for your Google Voice/Sprint phone number. Click the "Disable" or "Deactivate" button to go through the deactivation process required to remove your Sprint number from Google Voice.
4. Go back to your phone and FULLY logout of the Google Voice app. Once you've logged out uninstall the app.
5. Go to this link and follow the rest of the step by step instructions. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18399552&postcount=2
6. If your phone STILL does not receive SMS messages then you're at least already unrooted and can just stop by a Sprint store and have them see if it is a hardware issue. For me, unrooting somehow fixed my issue.
Once you complete those steps, if your messaging is working properly again, you can then reroot your phone and go on about your business as usual. The whole process of unrooting and rerooting my phone to fix the problem took an entire 15-20 minutes to do. Most of that time was spent verifying that things were working properly. Unfortunately I cannot tell you what exactly what the problem was. All I know is that when I unrooted to stock my phone suddenly worked again. So I decided to give Sprint the finger, reroot my phone, and get flash happy like always. I suggest NOT using Google Voice at all. At least not until they fix all of their horrendous issues with GV's sms messaging ability.
My wife and I both have a GSM Galaxy Nexus. A couple of weeks ago we both got the 4.1.2 (JZO54K) update pushed out to our phone.
Ever since every time I try and call her, it seems to ring once and then go straight to voicemail. Nothing happens on her phone.
Other information:
* She can make and receive calls to anyone else. Everything else on her phone works fine.
* I can make and receive calls to anyone else. Everything else on my phone works fine.
* She can call me fine.
* We've contacted the carrier and there are no blocks on my number at their end.
* I've had a look at the contacts app and the "All calls to voicemail" checkbox is clear.
As I mentioned, this only seemed to happen when her phone got the auto update to 4.1.2.
Can anyone else suggest anything else I should check please?
You using any vm apps like Google voice or youmail? If you still can't figure it out I would recommend to try a factory reset and through process of elimination find the culprit that way.

No, I'm in Australia and we don't have Google Voice here. Everything is stock except the launcher.
A factory reset might be the next option.
UPDATE
A reset of the software has sorted it out.

I am planning on flashing the new Synergy Rom for Galaxy s3, I see it is available for all carriers, but there is no dedicated thread for it on the sprint part, I see it is on the Verizon threat and it says works on all carriers....is there any other files I need to flash along with the main zip to make it work for sprint, or is that included all in that one zip.
source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792499
It's all included... some reports say that with Sprint you need to flash, let it try to boot (it won't boot) and then dirty flash over top of it again and it should boot up

It works well. But you can't update profile/prl. Also if you want to install custom kernels must be Sprint versions.

Phone not yet activated message Sprint S3
Just flashed the synergy ROM, and I could not get the phone to work. I re-flashed it several times, and tried all of the options in the setup before flashing. The data worked fine. The phone would dial Sprint customer svc for a second, and then say phone not yet activated. I had CM 10.1 on there, but that was not for me. I wish this would have worked, but I suspect someone here knows the fix. Maybe a bad download? It took 1.5 hours over slow hotel internet.

I've noticed this as well. I didn't think it would matter at all though. Everything works GREAT that I tried. BUT I found out after using it all day today, that it has a flaw with sending and receiving MMS... For me anyways. I can get on my 3G connection just fine and it pulls up websites, sends and receives emails. The phone also calls out just fine and sends and receives SMS no problem. Everything works great except for the MMS (be it pictures or an audio recording)
I've tried - Updating profile - didn't work
- switching my data connection from LTE/CDMA to just cdma.
- Wiping internal SD card (not just data/cache but the whole SD card VIA cwm) and reflash rom
- I don't know what else to try
Anyone have this problem? Anyone know what I may do to resolve it?
I've looked around and I got to the point where I entered in a special code which would reboot the phone and activate it. Too bad it didn't work and I had to restore the stock rom for it to do that process (Hope it doesn't charge me an activation fee)
Thanks so much for any input! I like the liquid smooth rom I'm on right now, but man I love the camera too much on the touchwiz roms and so far it seems like this synergy not only gives me the speed of aosp but the look of touchwiz and the note2 camera. Would be nice if i can get around this hurtle
Update on my above post
Just an update - I got the MMS to work by using GO SMS from the play store. I thought it was a long shot to install a different messaging app, but now I can both send and receive MMS! It still wont work through the normal messaging app (Sending MMS results in it acting like it went through, but never reaches its destination. Receiving MMS would constantly ask me to download it, then fail when I would click the download button.) But then when I go into this go sms app and try to download it, it works just fine, and sends just fine. The options in this app seem pretty awesome for a free app anyways so I'm actually kinda happy I had to find a workaround
It seems when I downloaded this app, that the messaging app would often forceclose after receiving a mms. To eliminate this, I just went in the messaging app and turned off notifications and auto retrieve MMS. no more force closes
Hope this helps anyone else who may be having this issue!
Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks for this info! This new Synergy ROM is very nice, and I had not noticed the mms issue until today. Mine actually rebooted a few times while the messaging apps fought it out. I think I have it sorted now. I am glad I continued to try getting Synergy installed.

I just flashed the most recent AOKP on my AT&T GS3 and can't receive MMS. the issue is the same on the stock messaging app as well as handcent, my APN settings are all correct, and every other option that I've researched (here and elsewhere) yields no positive results. I didn't have an issue with an older version of AOKP, but I updated because other aspects of the ROM were getting a little glitchy. This version is much smoother, but now MMS isn't working. what the heck is going on?

I believe the default sms app might not be compressing the image to fit your carriers mms limit. Try using a different sms app and see if it sends. If that's the problem you could use an alternative sms app or try decreasing your cameras quality to make the images smaller.
update: I did a factory reset, and mms started working again... for about a day. it then started doing the same things as before, so I'm totally lost. same issue arises whether I use handcent or the stock app. will attempt a third messaging app for the purpose of covering all bases
no other third party messaging apps work either. I can't think of anything else that could be an issue. any more help?
