Custom Splash Screens - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I noticed the GS3 Themes & Apps forum has some threads with some nice Custom Splash Screens. Can they be used on the Note 2 without issue? Or do they need to be formatted for the size of our screens? I didn't find a thread for the Note 2 with different ones like the others have.

i had a custom one i was using with their png to splash script... but it failed when i tried flashing it on the note2. just thought id try. lol one of us should ask the dude that made that thread over there to tweak the script for our note. that would be a bonus.

Different sizes, the splash screen wont display on our device.

It has nothing to do with the size of the images...its the way it is stored in the boot.img file I believe. The creator of the gs3 script says it will never work on our phones.

How to convert boot animation to our screen size?

I found a great cm10 but animation here http://techgeekal.wordpress.com/2012/08/04/cyanogenmod-10-official-boot-animation/ but it's a bit small for our screens. Is there anyway to convert it?

I am not promoting another site but this MIGHT help get you started. http://vcd1.software.informer.com/
You're looking to change the resolution size that's appropriate.. Several android specific apps to convert.

Unless I'm missing something, those programs are for video conversion, not for boot animations.
Extract the images from the boot animation and batch edit them in photoshop or something else.

I also use rom toolbox, it works great for changing the boot animation, and a lot more.

Bootanimations and Shutdownanimations [Updated - 1/4/2013]

BOOTANIMATIONS:
Stock JellyBean
Stock Sprint
Stock LG
Stock ICS
Nexus 7
Pac-Man
R2-D2
SHUTDOWNANIMATIONS:
Stock LG
Stock Sprint
DO NOT FLASH IN RECOVERY!
Make sure to have a file explorer installed to do these instructions, such as Root Explorer or (What I use) Root Browser Lite.
Steps :
1. Download the ZIP
2. rename it to "bootanimation.zip" or "shutdownanimation.zip"
3. push it into your /system/media
4. set permission -rw-r-r- a.k.a 644
5. reboot
6. PRESS THE THANKS BUTTON
7. ????
8. PROFIT!!!!!
Make sure you delete the old ones, "bootanimation.zip", "bootanimation_sprint.zip" and bootanimation_boost.zip or shutdownanimation.zip and shutdownanimation_sprint.zip"
Please let me know if these do not work or the link ever gets broken or anything like that.
I do not take credit for making any of these, I have found them throughout the internet and edited them to work with this phone, such as resizing the image. If any of them are yours then please let me know!
Mega, you seem to always be the first person to "thanks" my OP when I post anything. Haha.
Also, Almost done uploading. Decided to get an account at Android File Host, was just waiting to get approved for Dev. I am trying to take the stock Jelly Bean bootanimation and reverse it for a shutdown animation.
Thank you for your work.
Does everyone know, though, that the boot animation applications from the play store work as long as you adjust the proper settings inside the app?

No, has to be done by the directions.
Updated OP and added 4 more bootanimations.
Theoretically couldn't you do this for any file that's supposed to be a bootanimation?
For instance, I have a GS3 as well so I frequent those forums and have a couple bootanimations for that phone. I could just install them on the OG the same way you explained in your OP. Do you think there would be any problems that would cause a brick/bootloop issue because of the different dimensions of the screens?
Changing the Sound - Awkward Sounds
Heya,
This worked perfectly the above method by Epic. However now when I boot up I get the awesome nexus boot logo but still the same awkward sprint boot sound. With a look digging I discovered that the boot up or as in the phone "PoweOn_Sprint.ogg" and the bootoff "PowerOff_Sprint.ogg" all located in the same media folder "/system/media/audio/ui/" So now the question is lets start picking boot sounds (on/off) maybe the nexus 4 will be a good start.
Thank you in advance,
TheAceX
What I would do is just search up android boot animations and so far anyone I likes has work. As for the sounds, you can make the boot sound literally any song or clip you want, my power on is the ps1 boot sound which is awesome. You just have to convert the sound into .ogg with an audio converter program, rename it PowerOff_Sprint or PowerOn_Sprint respectively and make sure its capitalized exactly that way, then put it in the Ui directory.
I was gonna post a how to but no one showed interest lol

Sounds good. Only thing is I did it on my brothers computer who went back up to school so I'll have to redo it or see if I can get him to email me. I'll let you know soon

Not a problem. Thanks man!
You could always try using something like THIS to convert any audio files.
I haven't tried this service so I can't vouch for it, but I've used ones like it before.
Then you install it just like the bootanimations (naming them appropriately and putting them in the proper folder).

You shouldn't (it is really unlikely) have any issues.
They may look a little stretched or won't fill the screen.
If the animation is somehow broken, Android doesn't need it to boot.
I might already know the answer, but can I add this to the rom your testing? and tell which one you would like me to try.

Would LOVE if the R2D2 one could be full screen. It's one of my all time favorite Boot Animations

[ MOD ] Nfc with screen off and lockscreen get it here flashable for deodex!

Found this...its not mine I take NO credit...its not for sprint but I can confirm at least works on jellybomb v-11 ljc sprint screen on/off/lockscreen/and while video playing.
All you need is the attachment At bottom for nfc with screen off. I have not tried that tutorial all I did was flash that and worked
#$ ONLY FOR DEODEX ROMS. $#
(At least it seems that way)
I tired it on one lk8 rom (beta) and it caused occasional nfc service force closes, but at the same time nfc did work screen off and on, so there's a possible fix for that I'm sure.
Here's link...flashable.....attachment at bottom of his post

Honestly... This disorganization with the different sections is aggravating. We have roms in 2 different places, mods all over the place and it is a mess.
TW based roms should be in one place.
All the other roms in another.
Kernels/Mods/Hacks should fall under their respective uses.
All threads should be labeled correctly with [MOD],[ROM],[Kernel] ect.
Why is this so hard?

Boot Animation Question

Can anybody make something similar to this for the s4?

Try changing the size of it, making a backup of your current, putting it in the right place and seeing if it works.

Believe it or not I flashed it via zip file. With slim beans ROM go to settings, scroll down to advanced and look for misc settings and at the bottom u will see select zip file for boot animation. It takes care of the rest for you.
Or u can find the post I'm sorry I would but I'm at work.
