Temporary unroot. Un roots until you reboot I believe.

This is more than likely a noob question but I just received a notice for the 2.3.4 OTA update. I was wondering if I went through with it is it possible to still do the revolutionary root method?

Yes, you can still use revolutionary root.
Thanks. Should I just perform the OTA update and the reroot or should I unroot the phone prior to the update

Why reroot? If you want the stock rooted update, just flash that specific rom. Brad has the stock rooted update rom, just look for it in the development section. It should be on the first page

Is it possible to temporarily root the device without applying a custom kernel? I'm having 4.1.2 woes so I want to factory reset but backup data first. Can it be done?
If not, would rooting prevent me from getting new ota updates? Thanks!

try rooting with chain fire. it hardly takes 5 minutes to root. and unrooting is pretty easy and quick.
I rooted my note 2 when I had 4.1.1 then I unroot it again to get ota update and upgraded to 4.1.2 and after that again rooted through the same procedure. its easy n quick.

So i rooted with Framaroot. I then found that i want to unroot because im paranoid about my warranty so i tried to unroot via Framaroot and i thought it went well. OTA Rootkeeper says that my phone isnt rooted but /system supports root protection. Is my warranty void and i have to go through the troubles of flashing a stock rom?

Nevermind. My Nexus 7 has never been rooted and it says the same so im guessing my Note 2 has been unrooted

Newbie question. If I'm already rooted with a non-stock rom, what's the easiest way to get to stock rooted? Can I flash something, or do I need to unroot and re-root?
Thanks!
