I installed the 01-29 Nightly & 12-12 Gapps on my shiny brand new 7105 and now it won't boot. I've searched till to I'm blue in the face and I'm about to have a breakdown. I can find stock roms & etc for the 7100 but not the 7105. Someone please point me to a stock Odin Rom so I restore this thing.

Hi,
Try this:
Turn your phone off
Boot your phone in to recovery (hold home + volume up + power)
Do a factory reset
Wipe cache ect
Then reflash the ROM with Odin
Then leave it for at least 10 min to boot. As it can take a while.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers

I did the factory reset & wiped the cache as you suggested. It rebooted before I get it turned off and I let it go. It booted on up and I'm good to go again. You helped me get my new phone back and I appreciate it. I don't know if I'll try anymore custom rom's or not on this 7105.

Completely up to you, mate. You just have to be very cautious when flashing things on your phone. You have to be very particular with the files you're downloading. Just ensure that everything's for your N7105. ^^

Hi,
Glad you got it working.
It should be pretty safe to flash ROMs on it, just make sure they are for the N7105.
Always make a cwm backup, then u can just flash that to restore everything.
If you follow theses rules when flashing ROMs, they should boot fine most of the time:
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Install ROM
Wipe data again
Wipe cache
Fix permissions
Custom ROMs are so much better then stock, so its a shame not to use them
Cheers

Did you do a data/cache wipe when you installed CM nightly over the stock rom ? Maybe that's why it wouldn't boot up.
Anyway, don't be afraid of custom roms, if CM10.1 is what you'd rather use - try again and if something goes wrong - there's tons of people here who can help
Also *always* make backup of IMEI, it can get borked for no reason :silly: TWRP has the ability to backup only single partitions eg.

Yes, I did the Factory Reset and wiped cache & delvik cache first.

Hey everyone I was having problems with a rom so I decided to go back to an old rom that i had used before. Anyways during this process (I did all the steps, wiped data/factory reset, cache and dalvik) something got messed up and now when I try to install a new rom it installs and then boots into an endless reboot cycle. I can put the rom that i was using before this happened back on and it partially works (troubles with programs force quitting, cant install or uninstall etc) so anyways what my real problem is is that cwm wont delete the data or cache. When i go into mounts/storage to manually delete then i click on it and then in the script it says unable to delete /data or /cache or something to that extent. Also I am using 3.0.0.8
If anyone has any tips or help for me that would be great! I have tried everything I can possibly think of and nothing seems to work.
P.S. I am new here and if this thread is in the wrong forum then sorry. Please direct me to where it is supposed to be.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Try going back to 3.0.0.7 if you have an AMOLED screen
Download vr superwipe, flash after wiping EVERYTHING, you will have no more issues.

Thanks for trying but it didnt work. Flashed vr superwipe, it "wiped" everything, flashed rom and then booted into the same reboot cycle
Might want to try another radio.
If your recovery is giving you an error it may be an issue with your actual data and cache partitions. Did you try flashing a different recovery? Give 3.0.0.7 a shot, or amon ra, it can't hurt to try.
It would be helpful if you could post the actual error message you're getting in recovery.

I tried installing a rom last week on my Galaxy Note II (Rogers), i followed orders (this isn't my first time flashing roms), and it has been stuck in a constant boot loop.
I've tried everything, wiping cache, factory reset, tried to flash different roms, etc....
I am a mac user (which means Odin isn't an option).
If you guys have any suggestions on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated.
What rom were you on and what rom were you trying to flash originally? Also what recovery are you using? Need a little more info because usually wiping caches dies the trick. Provide a link to the rom you were trying to flash of your can.

This is the rom, i was using CMW to flash it, then it made me switch to TWRP (think its called that)......hope that helps.
Sorry I can't be of more help aside of redoing the installation of your recovery and redownloading the rom ( bad downloads happen) and making sure you do all the wipes (cache, dalvik cache and factory reset). If none of that works I'm sure someone more knowledgable than myself will chime in.
I've never run into a bootloop problem myself, but this might help you out :

Put another ROM on an sdcard. Take your battery out then press the button combo for recovery mode before you slip your battery back in. Then it'll force download mode. Reflash the new ROM after full wiping and you should be good.

Definitely a bad ROM. Run a MD5 checker against it prior to copying to the SD card. Note: your SD card could be the culprit.
If you have a recovery installed, ensure you WIPE everything, Fix permissions (i'm on CWM) and reflash the modem and carrier files POST rom install.
I experienced my first boot loop yesterday but I was able to recover from it thanks to a little common sense and patience. :fingers-crossed:
Good luck!
first of all, don't freak out, a bootloop isn't the end of the world. Sounds like it was a bad flash.
ppl above have obviously told you to wipe caches, and all that stuff and if it hasn't worked then you are still down and out.
I would suggest you get yourself into recovery - not going to explain that here as you said you were able to flash other roms and it didn't work and try flashing your nand backup - hopefully you have a nice clean backup from before you flashed. if so, clear caches, etc and then try flashing it it should be back to at least working.
your nand backup will have all your stuff in it as you would have had to backup from recovery, which means you'll at least still be rooted. you can then go ahead and get another rom - check the md5 and flash it
Hey,
I used the 18.5 version of Shpongle with the 14.5 version of HELLBOY kernel until today.
I tried to update only the kernel today to the latest HELLBOY (21.5), so what I did I booted into recovery (TWRP), erased only cache and dalvik, and flash the new version of the kernel using cmd, with these two commands:
Code:
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
After my One V rebooted, it got stuck on the HTC welcome screen (with the red development purposes warning) and I can't get out of it, all I can do is reboot then it comes back to that screen.
What did I do wrong? Can I fix that somehow? I can't seem to go back to recovery so it feels lost...
Thank you for any help.
Might be a bad flash. Wipe everything and reflash, then try to reboot.

Turn off the phone and quickly press volume down and power on to try to get into bootloader otherwise it will turn itself back on (happened to me before when I got a bad flash). Try to get into recovery from there.

Thank you! that's what I was looking for. I was hopeless. Thanks again!
Is there something wrong with what I did to update the kernel? I kept the ROM and just deleted the cache and dalvik and then flashed the new kernel. I just don't want to lose all the data so I'm hoping to fix it without wiping everything.

No there was nothing wrong with what you did to update the kernel, you were just unlucky and got a bad flash. If it still gets stuck try reflashing the ROM, without wiping data.

sir, sorry for troubling you again.
the problem is still not solved
I was using Slim bean for a quite a long time. Last month I changed my ROM to shpongle. since then the problem has started.
I found out that GPS doesnt work in shpongle so I wanted to revert back to slim bean. so i did full wipe, factory reset, dalvik cache. installed zip from SD card, flashed the boot.img file. but it was stuck at android screen (startup screen of slim)
so i reinstalled shpongle.
now today i wanted to install samsung ROM but the same problem showed up. so I had to again install Shpongle.
now i tried the boot.img provided by you, tried factory reset, but the problem is still there. Can you help out?
thanks in advance

i cant think of anything of now
BTW, the latest shpongle has working GPS so maybe u wanna try that

It's because you formatted your system and it has nothing to boot into now. A factory data reset should fix it.

If you have a cwm/twrp flashable rom on your internal/external sdcard or if you have
a nandroid back and if you still have access to get into CWM/TWRP recovery then
why not simply restore a backup or flash a rom?
If you don't have any backups or cwm/twrp flashable zip file roms in your phone
then simply remove the external sdcard and put it into an adaptor and plug it into
your computer, download a cwm/twrp flashable rom and copy it to the sdcard.
Then put the sdcard back in the phone, go into cwm/twrp recovery and flash it.
If you cannot get into cwm/twrp recovery for some god knows what reason you will need
to Odin flash the stock rom in download mode to get the phone running properly again.
Good luck with it!

Trying that as i type. Performed a wipe and reboot'd to DL mode for a stock odin flash. Not optimistic though
any reason why this WOULDNT work?
EDIT: No luck. Went past the samsung screen initially to android stock recovery to finish flash...once it rebooted back to stuck at samsung screen!
EDIT: SOLVED. checked Phone EFS Clear in ODIN...then flash stock. BREEZE
