So I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 I747M model yesterday and today I decided to flash a custom ROM, Cyogen Mod 10. I flashed it and it worked without trouble except for the fact that it doesn't pick up any mobile networks. It works with WiFi which is strange as I have the same sim in since the day I got this phone and suddenly it doesn't pick up my Rogers network. What should I do to fix?
You probably lost your IMEI. You will have to fix it by following the properly named thread.

How fi I recover my IMEI number?
Check your APN.. if it empty, there is the problem.

It is empty so now what should I do?
This happened to me when I first flashed a custom ROM. I fixed it by flashing a modem..

I rooted my Samsung T989 this morning, and I lost 4g connection. I noticed it a couple hours after rooting, so I didn't know if it was root related. I went to t-mobile, got a new galaxy after backing up with titanium backup, and rooted it again. Now, still no 4g. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it?
Edit: I have no data at all, it's not just 4g that's missing.
ummm idk whats wrong with your rooting process, but rooting has nothing to do with data. which method did u use to root your phone? and have you used a custom rom yet?
I used the clockwork mod with odin. No custom roms, just rooted, installed busybox, and titanium backup.
Anyone? I really don't want to unroot my phone.
Do you have an active apn?

Delete disable from the apn.
It should just say epc.tmobile.com. Also change apn type to internet+mms.

Recently, as of today, I have not been able to send any MMS messages.
Restored multiple nandroids, checked IME and everything else I can think of. However, I have not been able to find a listed stock AT&T APN on this site.
Currently, this is what I am using:
APN: PTA
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: None
APN type: default,mms,supl
APR ptotocol: IPv4
Can someone with working MMS please paste their APN settings in here?

looks correct to me, u need a smartphone data plan for this to work i believe. My sim is non-smartphone data plan and it wont work for me, but when i stick in someone elses smartphone sim, these settings work.
Yeah. No idea how, but MMS now works. Didn't change a thing...
Add ",hipri" after supl.

Depends on your data plan on AT&T.
If you have the simple 3G smartphone plan, you can use the wap.cingular APN which is:
Code:
Name: Cingular 410
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: Blank
Port: Blank
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1
Server: cingulargprs.com
MMSC: http://mms.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: Blank
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Blank
APN Type: default,supl,mms
APN protocol: leave as is
Bearer: leave as is
If you have the Smartphone on 4G provisioned on your plan you can use the Phone APN which seems to be faster. My Nexus is provisioned for the later 4G plan and I combined my MMS with the Internet for one APN:
Code:
Name: AT&T HSPA+
APN: phone
Proxy: Blank
Port: Blank
Username: blank
Password: blank
Server: blank
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: Blank
APN Type: default,supl,mms,hipri
APN protocol: leave as is
Bearer: leave as is
You'll need to check on your AT&T plan to see what data plan you have. If you don't have Smartphone on 4G you can't use the phone apn. You have to use the cingular.wap one. I'm getting about 5 mb/s down and 1.1 mb/s up using the phone apn.
Hope this helps and remember the Thanks button!

Thanks for this. I searched the forums and whatever else thread that has the supposed APN info did not work. This though, works like a charm. :highfive:
Thanks! This APN for 4G worked on my T999 SG3 from T-Mobile that I just put on ATT. I managed to get 3.49 Mbps down from it. 4G icon. I guess this means my Iphone 5 LTE wont be used now lol.
It's not the APN, it's how the mms.apk was compiled. Download Go SMS Pro from the market, disable stock MMS app, go through the ADVANCE Settings in Go SMS. Find MMS Custom Agent & type "Android"
Done & Done.
I hope it works for you, too!
Verified on my Skyrocket with Orthus X 4.2.2 & Triumph with ROM? 4.1.2

i grandfathered the unlimited data plan on att but lately i can't use my data plan and i am not sure why...
i can use text and calls but no internet connection ... do you have any idea on how to fix it ?
I was Not getting mobile data on my LGOG after flashing CM 10.2, and added the second APN listed here. I just tested, and down speeds are 9.85mb/s down. I'm not getting the 4G logo though? What gives? I've got the H.
These are current as of November 6, 2012. I have 2 APN's setup in my TELUS Samsung Galaxy S3.
This is the one selected (along with its info):

MNC: 220
Authentication type: None
APN type: internet + mms
APN protocol: IPv4
Enable/disable APN: APN enabled (check marked)

Here is the second APN in my phone (I'm not using this one, as it wasn't selected by default):
Name: TELUS ISP
APN: isp.telus.com

Username: <Not set>

I thought I'd post to keep the info available for posterity's sake (and, you never know... if I update from my stock rooted ROM, I'll probably need these settings somewhere). And it's the latest, soooo...
Its been the same if I'm correct..also I've had to reenter my APN so many times I remember it by heart lol

Those settings only seem to work on stock roms, maybe aosp roms as well but using M7 or serenity JB type roms data wont work, all the settings are ok but under apn settings use "default, mms, hipri" instead of the "internet + mms" and data should work. The internet+mms only seems to work on my gf's stock, non rooted ics phone doesn't work on my rooted JB

The ROM you're using shouldn't have any effect on the ability of the APN to work. The APN's are not based on the ROM you are using, rather they are carrier settings that determine if your phone will work on their network (I know you know that, I'm just stating the obvious so that *YOU* understand I also know what *I'M* talking about ).
Others will have to confirm if what you're stating is truly the case. Can anyone else comment, please?
Thanks!
Okie dok, just saying in my experience the "Internet + mms" does not get me any data using serenity or milestone roms. As long as ppl are getting help either way I say we're good lol

I had a similar issue with MMS, but found this to help: try copying the "MMS proxy" to "Proxy" and "MMS port" to "Port" so that they're both populated with identical sets of numbers.
