When playing imobsters I see these text symbols everywhere but I don't know how to get them. Most notably the actual android logo ones

I use swiftkey but the smiley button just has basic text faces like ^_^. And my default keyboard doesn't have a smiley button

Android keyboard has an emoji add-on dictionary (at least in 4.2 it does)

Didnt Google change them from the regular smilies to the green heads in ICS? Or JB? Or is it CM that changed them and I just don't remember? lol

CM. Pretty sure it came with the CM10+ Messaging app.

I think the gnex dialer is beautiful but I hate how it does not have t9 predictive text for finding a contact very quickly. What alternate dialer does everybody recommend?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Dialer One gives you this option and seems to work fine on ICS.
Check out exDialer - a MIUI style dialer; T9; supports themes (including a nice ICS theme). I had been using DialerOne for 2 years and recently made the move to exDialer with no regrets
I have tried dialer one in the past but just downloaded exdialer with the ics theme and love it, thanks!

+1 to this. I love it. it even has an ICS theme if you like the light blue color.
TouchPal Dialer is also nice.

Notigo is nice so that it can clear the missed calls. The zip will no longer work with modern versions of CWM but you can still extract the apk from the zip and put it into /system/app yourself and reset the permissions for the same effect.
Can someone extract the main ics dialer's icon and replace the exdialer app icon with it? Then thankfully post the apk here?

It's exactly what I just finished doing so it looks like I'm still using the stock dialer/contact apps. Couldn't be easier.
Typically I would use an Alt Launcher like Go Launcher, pin the exDialer to the bar, change the icon, then hide it in the main drawer.
Find attached exdialer v59 with main icon changed (the one from default phone app). Resigned. Please uninstall existing version on phone before installing or you will receive a certificate mismatch error.

Most ROMs have t9 dialing enabled in the stock phone app now. This was a big pet peeve of mine too, and one of the deciding factors to flash Gummy Nex. That, and the enabled AOSP tethering.
I'm using android Revolution that doesn't have t9 dialing plus others may prefer the Exdialer.

Any way to edit them?
Agreed, the :O face looks really angry which is weird.
Try sms go pro
haha I know same, I like the messaging app though.
I use Handcent. You can customize emoticons and send emoji smiles to you iPhone friends (or Android friends with Handcent, Go SMS etc.).
They're just .pngs in an apk (think it's systemui.apk). UOTKitchen also has several versions to choose from, though I haven't tried it with the galaxy nexus...so I'm not sure if it's updated for ICS.
I too hated the emoticons. Handcent has the option to use "Handcent emoticons" (not emoji) instead and they are much better.
I reccommend GO SMS simply for the various customizations, emoji plugin, and the notification pop-up.
This are the same emoticons form honeycomb... just ugly...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
As someone said above - you can replace them in UOT Kitchen or pull framework-res.apk and do it manually. Really easy.

Have you experienced any issues with Handcent on ICS? I would get FC's alot when I was using it.
Instead of modifying, would it be possible to remove emoticons completely? I wonder what would happen if somebody just removed those pics. I will try when I get my nexus back from service.

I don't know what it is about SwiftKey, but I really, really don't like it. I like the stock Samsung keyboard the best, but it's unusable for me since it doesn't have autocorrect. Therefore, I'm using the Android 4.2 keyboard.

I would get android 4.2 keyboard but I bricked my phone this past weekend trying to cwm recovery to flash it. And you can't flash it with twrp for some reason. I also tried manually installing which didn't work either. Idk. I really like SwiftKey 3 though. It's perfect for me.

Swift key all day.

I really don't like keyboards that cant use finger dragging for input. I like swype but have been using the Android 4.2 keyboard for the past few days. I like the 4.2 with the swyping function but still have to play with it a bit before it's a keeper. It has some things I don't like as far as a few common things on the second keyboard screen. A comma is one of them. I might be able to change this but have not tried at all....wait...the comma is also there if I hold down the period key.

Right now I'm using Smart Keyboard Pro with a hot pink theme. I love keyboards that ur able to theme cuz I'm a pink-a-holic! I know Swiftkey has a pinkish type theme, but my fav pink color is bubble gum or hot pink. If Swiftkey ever gets a pink color theme like those I'd definitely switch back to it cuz that is one awesome keyboard. The auto-correction/predictions is out of this world fabulous!

IOS 6 Emojis
I have the ios 5 emoji keyboard installed on my note 2. Also I know you can get ios 6 emojis with GOSMS Pro Premium and they are color but only work inside the app.
The IOS 5 keyboard works throughout the whole system but is only in black and whit and does not include the newer emojis. The keyboard can be found here

Ik you guys are looking for a MMS.apk but until one comes out you can use this keyboard in conjunction with whatever texting app you choose.

That is not an iOS 5 keyboard. It's the emoji keyboard from JellyBean 4.2. It has the latest emoji, including iOS6 uses.

Is there anyone who could make the stock TouchWiz 4.4.2 messaging apps with IOS Emojis added to it? Or is this a keyboard feature? I remember having it on my nexus but I can't remember how.
