[Q] No radio service after Jedi X-9 flash - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II - AT&T version.
I flashed Jedi X-9's rom and noticed I couldn't connect to the Play Store nor the Internet.
I wasn't able to send SMS but could call and receive calls.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2005141
I then flashed the atti317ucalj2modemfixed, rebooted - same thing.
http://d-h.st/QCG
Is anyone else having this issue?
Please let me know!
Thanks,
- J.

I had the same issue. Try flashing over to the k7 modem. Its seems pretty good for alot of users. I prefered the j2 that cam with it because its seems more stable for me.

Thanks for the reply.
Is that what you did, was switch to the K7 modem?
Thanks!

Yeah. I actually backed up when i had the j2 and flashed the k7. For me, it wasnt too stable so i went back to the j2. But maybe you might have better luck with the k7 depending on where you live.

Awesome, I'm flashing it now. - I'll let you know how it is.
EDIT: No Dice. the k7 did not work. :*(
Also, it seems the Jedi X-9 rom doesn't like my SanDisk 64gig class 10 card.. doesn't read, nor mount

have you confirmed you APN settings are entered correctly? these settings allow you to connect to data, SMS, MMS, etc. i'd also confirm your IMEI is still present.

I don't think I had to configure any APN settings. I did connect to my local router.
I see an IMEI preset, dBm, signal strength.
I'm thinking of just trying a new rom.

Connecting to your router has nothing to do with your APN. (If that's what you were inferring). Did you at least confirm your APN settings are there? With some ROMs you might have to manually add them.

Try this apn to see if it works

No data Telus?

Hello everyone,
I recently flashed my first rom last night (jedi mind trick) and it works awesome, but I have no data connection at all. There isn't even an icon for it. I read that it may be the radio? So I flashed a different radio, but it is still doing the same thing. Is there a way to get data on it? Thank you
Have you checked your settings?
Sent from my SGH-T989D using XDA Premium App
Yes, data is enabled and it reads im set with telus.
Are you on a plan or prepaid? Because they block data on prepaid unless you have an add-on
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I'm on a plan with telus. Not sure what I did wrong... I reflashed the rom and it's still doing the same thing.
I installed TELUS_SGH-T989D_LE4_ICS_Radio_MOD. I read that was a good one to use? But still no go.
Apn set?
Sent from my SGH-T989D using XDA Premium App
That is the correct radio with telus... Any other radio would most likely give you slower data speeds... Not sure why you have no data at all though

[Q] LiquidSmooth RC8 Problems

So I downloaded and flashed the LiquidSmooth that i got from galaxys2rootdotcom since I couldnt find any downloads here.. Im on android 4.1.2 Of course, running mod version Liquid-JB-v2.0-RC8 and kernel [email protected] #1.
Now to the problems, The main one is my data its constantly switching from H+ down to H then back to 3g Then H, H+. Tried switching the network mode and that didnt work went into my apn settings and changing the protocol from Ipv4 to ipv4/ipv6 that didnt work either, keep in mind i unlocked my phone and now running off straight talk via the at&t sim.
Second is the gps, tried going to maps and getting directions and it wouldnt show my location.
Third is the calling, when i call people they told me it sounds like im in a tunnel. So its probably echoing.
Hopefully I can get some answers and maybe help others who have the same problems.

Help please, no service.

So first off, im running The Devil's Reject v6 with a cwm touch 6.0.2.3(?)
and i flashed over the intergalactic v2.5 kernel, soon after that my messages werent going through so i thought it was just the kernel that didnt wanna work with my phone, so i flashed the intergalactic 2.6 and same issues, i could connect to wifi and i have one to two signal bars but the 4g or 4g lte never came up. i then flashed the stock kernel that the TDRv6 was originally running and the issue was still the same. no service but wifi connection and signal bars. later on after some research i learned that i had lost my imei number. i was able to recover it but still the service never came back..
Please any help would be great!

Sounds dumb but verify that your imei came back and is the same as behind the battery.
Check to make sure your APN settings are set up correctly.
There has been instances where no data after restoring imei, there is a thread dedicated to it. Simple search will help you.

Yeah I did the restore imei thread and the number was good but then the service was still bad. Like it would go to G and then drop. I couldn't do anything on network. But I found this thread and it worked amazingly.

I should've looked more before just posting up a thread but I was sort of all freaked out. Lol
Well hope I at least made it easier for some one to find the thread. Thanks for your help

Do you have lte in your area? My area just got lte this weekend. And when the change was made, I did not have data service until changed back to the pta apn. I thought it may have been the rom. But it wasn't.

Yeah I have lte in my area. Ive had it for a while but it wasnt that, I had just flashed something and somehow in the process I lost my imei number which didn't allow me to do anything under the network. Idk if it was an issue with the recovery or with the zip file but I got it all worked out, thanks.

Stuck on Edge

So I was wondering if T-Mobile had refarmed my area with the 1900 MHz frequency...I used pasted *#*#4636#*#* into my phone dialer and I pressed the menu button and selected the USA (1900) Band...I was on Edge, so I realized T-Mobile did not refarm my area yet...However, my phone is stuck on the 1900 MHz band...I can't go back to AWS for some reason. I've tried rebooting and reflashing my radio, but to no avail...I'm on AOKP 4.2.2 (March 22 nightly) with Cerux Kernel. I was wondering if anyone had a clue as to how to return to 1700 MHz(AWS)
Surprised that you got the code to work on a jb rom. None of the codes work except imei on mine. You have to go into service mode and find phone settings for band *#32489#. Hit back a few times and you will see the menu if you can get the code to work. It still works on gb roms but not on jb for me

So, do I have to flash another ROM? I just restored a nandroid of SlimBean, but it's still stuck on Edge...
Yes get a gb rom. Then type *#*#197328640#*#* into dialer and it will give you service mode menu. From there find band settings and you will be able to change frequency. Once you change it you can reinstall a jb rom and settings will stick

It should work fine. I have changed a few settings on my phone using the service menu in the past. Like I said the settings will stick even if you flash another rom so you should be ok.

Tmo is doing lots of work and I have noticed lots of flaky data lately.
I would hold off on blaming the phone, as I myself this week have had to switch airplane mode and do reboots to get out of edge/no data.

Losing service

I searched and didn't find anything. So my problem is I have a stock i317. I randomly lose service. Sometimes it's just data, I'll have 3 or 4 bars but no data. Other times it is everything just the no service symbol. I usually turn airplane mode on and off and everything comes back. Any idea what the problem could be ? I just updated ota to ucamh3. Hoping that would solve the problem but there is no change.

Some devices had internal antenna issues that required a repair /replacement ....
If a stock rom is used and the device has been factory wiped ...but you still get antenna issues ...
The device may have a problem ..
It's not uncommon ...
And if the device is truly stock and no tampering has occurred ...then the odds of a hardware issue certainly go up...g

I found what works with my phone is a quick smack to the thing. On the side or the back Im not sure I hit it a few times. Then it goes from not being able to find a network to having full signal strength. Im not hitting it hard enough to hurt it. I hope this continues to work for me.
(Update)
Upon further testing smacking it does not seem to make a difference. We are on Straight talks BYOP sim plan using AT&T towers. My wifes skyrocket does it sometimes and has Cyanogenmod Rom. And my note2 I just got and immediately flashed with Pac Man Rom does it a lot. Cyanogenmod Rom has some of Pac Man rom built in it hmm. My skyrocket never does it and it is still stock 2.3.6. Im thinking of doing a nandroid backup of my hard work setting up my Note2 and then flashing back to stock to see if it still does it. Or try to see if it only does it on a low charge. Or only wail plugged it. Or flashing a different radio, or different modem or baseband how ever you are supposed to say it.
Right now my Note2 is on baseband I317UCAMCE.
My working Skyrocket I727UCLD2.
Wifes Skyrocket I727UCLL3
Yea i have tried different roms now. It was official.tried a couple diff roms. Just did the new leak and sll having same problem.

Iam having a very similar issue with my Note 2(sgh-1317).
If you could please walk me through this. Permissive and Enforced are both greyed out using WanamSELinuxModeChanger. It is rooted(CF-AUTO-ROOT), os IS 4.3, IMEI under battery matches IMEI as listed under [SettingsAbout Device/Status] as well as that listed using Android System Info from play store. Radio is "UNKNOWN", KNOX status empty
This is the 4th phone, all note 2s, that I've had "No Mobile Network" issues with since I originally got this device last Christmas(2012).
the 1st 3 were replaced under warranty by AT&T. But now I'm on Straighttalk and rooted and the issue remains. There is an iPhone 4S in the house, also on Straighttalk, that has no network connection issues at all. I have verified APNs etc etc and am at a total loss.
Any help is much MUCH appreciated.
thanks
