So I pushed a boot animation to system/media, rebooted my phone and I didn't like it so I deleted it from system/media.
I then downloaded another one and pushed it to the same spot and I rebooted my phone, and it's showing the boot animation that I deleted? I can't get the new one to pop up. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

There is a screeny of my system/media there is a boot animation in there but it will not play it.

Rename it to just bootanimation.zip
Also change permissions to rw-r--r--
Check /data/local/ and see if there's a bootanimation in there too. If so delete it
Finally check to make sure your kernel supports bootanimation.zip's

Besides the list on Supernova, where can I find a supply of boot animations to check out? Running Bonsai 3.0.0 and EXT4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905538
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696193
and a lot more that i cant find links to right now but most good thing is to just look around the theme forum for android and not specifically epic4g
So most of the "Android" boot anis should work with Bonsai and EXT4?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Yep. Just download one of the supernova (or any cwm3 compatible) boot anis from our epic 4g forum and replace the bootanimation.zip with whatever zip file you downloaded from another forum (after renaming the one you downloaded to bootanimation.zip) and you should be good to flash it.

That is the one I have now. I really like the one on Nebula. I want to try and pull it out of the zip file.

Thought some people might like this pac-man'esque boot-animation I made quite a while ago.

It depends if your kernel supports boot animations.

Do you know there is a button that says that for you??!!
can anyone say what directory the recovery image saves to? it says for Android 4.2 its saved in a secure location i.e not in the clockwork mod backup folder. why have they done this? just to get you to shell out on premium so you can download through your browser?
is it possible to locate it through root browser?

That's because the folders are really symlinked (like a folder shortcut in Windows)
Is there a way to change the splash screen on the S4?
Because some people confuse splash screen with bootanimation, I am talking about the screen that comes at boot like

It's on my computer. But I've already taken a look inside the ramdisk for the kernel and it's not there. Ktoonsez thinks it's inside the bootloader. So we may never be able to change it.

Use flashable zip or copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ if you have one already, then replace it, if not, after you copy it set permissions to RW- R-- R--
Also looks good on my Nexus 5X
How to install? U make it flashable?
