Is there a easy way to root 4.1.2 and have TWRP installed? I'm trying to get PARANOIDANDROID 2.99 on my device. I downloaded the Note II Toolkit, but the only option was 4.1.1 under ATT, so I wasn't sure if that was safe.
Thanks

I second the vote for this way. Im a new android user and it was a very simple way to root! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33854391
Yes download ExynosAbouse 1.4 APK and install it. Once you run it, it will root your N2 and and install superus. Next go to google play store and download Goomanger and this will install TWRP recovery. That's it.

whats twrp??? can i get the link or the full name so i can search it on g play store ?
Just google that.. isnt that outdated?? how do i make rom manager to work?
Here is link to twrp recovery. It is more advanced than cwm. You will have to mess around to find out where everything is in it. But its nice since you can flash multiple files at once.

I have clock world recovery installed during my root process and I am able to use it manually how ever when I attempt to use rom manager its asking me to install it again but it's not giving me the option to select s3 for at&t, and when I try to install a rom manually via recovery mode its saying aborted.
Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk 2
i had a similar issue to this a couple days ago. i was getting install aborted status error 7 when trying to flash cm9 nightly. i updated my cwm to the latest version (5.8.4.7) and it worked perfectly. also note that when flashing with cwm v5.8.4.7 you have to flash from internal sdcard. (i got confused by that because i usually flash from external)

Hi I am on MA7 and would like to flash the stock recovery and unroot so I can take the OTA MC2 update. Does anyone have a pointer to the stock recovery?
Also, does unrooting inside the Super SU app sufficient to enable the update to work, or do I need to do something else?
Thanks!

If you are rooted with stock rom and recovery and its not working which is my situation all you have to do is install twrp recovery. I used goomanager from market and installed from that. Then I downloaded the all in one zip from this link:

Then I ran twrp and flashed the all in one .zip file and it worked like a charm.

Thanks yeah this is pretty much what I ended up doing, I think there are too many files changed in my OS for it to work.. I 'unrooted' and went back to stock recovery but the OTA still didn't take.

Just found out the only thing I flashed was the modem from mc2. Due to some screwed up stuff on my phone even at stock recovery, stock rom and even unrooting I can't get zip ota or the actual ota to work. Only option is to root again and install a rooted stock rom with the mc2 update already on it. I think I'll wait since my Google wallet still works and I don't want to ruin that.

So I have been rooted for a couple months now with no problems at all, I do have the t-mobile note 2 which is model # SGH-T889. And I opened up Superuser and there is an unroot button which was not check but soon became checked I was unaware at the time you can even unroot a phone via a program. Is there a way to reverse this problem, all of my rooted apps no longer allow me to open them up, But for say wallpappers and some other apps I was able to keep them
www(dot)/gyazo(dotcom)/74c27571285f3d19f866b09be020013a
That is what my Titanium backup says above.
I also tried installed the newere SuperSU or whatever that didn't work either.
And even still "Software update" "Your device has been modified.Software updates are not available" Hit OK, I only just found out today there is a program called "Voodoo OTA RootKeeper" Only had I known about this program yesterday none of this would have happened, in the "Voodoo OTA RootKeeper"there should be check marks allow me to uncheck/recheck and there is no huge button for backup/unroot/root. that tells me I'm not rooted I guess.
A buddy of mine actually helped me root via teamviewer And I do not have the proper kit/know how to do it for my model #. If someone can help me in another way besides just rerooting the original way that would help. But if not if you have a known good rootkit for my situation.
I am sorry if this is not in the right section under my phone. I wanted to put it in the dev area but read that they will delete it if you put it there, even though It would seem that is the proper area since this is a rooting situation.
If you guys need any more information about my issue please ask

Is there a method to doing so? I do remember via teamviewer he used a rootkit of some kind would that work even in my current case? I still have superuser on my phone along with kies.

Are you sure it is rom I need to DL, Don't I need to be rooted first to get the rom on there? My problem is my phone is half rooted, titanium backup says clear busybox and one other app, but every single other app says I need to be rooted, Along with that being weird when I try to do a software update. It tells me that I have a modded device so I cannot do it. In the mean while before I reroot again I would like to get the most recent update.

I have a Mac and this is method I used since my windows computer is not working. It takes me about 5 minutes or less to use this method. One trick to know with this method and the Sprint note 2 is after phone reboots after the rooting you must remove battery immediately for the root to take. Otherwise you'll have to do it again.

yes, you are basically using the latest option he has for your phone... which I think he just updated it recently too. I just followed the directions on the toolkit thread and it will walk you through everything, even the Odin part. I don't recall using Odin to go back to ma7.
