[Q] All JB 4.2.1 roms problem - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody
First: Sorry for my bad English
I have an HTC DHD and I've tried all versions of jellybean 4.2 roms (like codfirex, unofficial cm10.1, aokp jb, jellytime r1,r2,r3,r4) but all have a problem with multitouch. When I put 3 fingers on touch, multitouch work perfect, but when I put 4 fingers, my phone make a big lag. Work very bad, can I fix it? or can I add more multitouching points?

I haven't heard of anything like this before.
Can I ask what you're doing that requires that many contact points? Any details would help

I use a application named multitouch tester, when I try to put 4 fingers to touch my phone work hard and make a lag, when I use 3 fingers it have no problem. maybe is a kernel problem, I don't know.....

You don't need any app. You can test multi-touch by enabling 'Show touches' in Settings-Developer options.

Nice, thanks:good: but my phone work bad in games like fruit ninja when I use 4 fingers for multitouch

But yeah, you're right about the phone not detecting more than 3 touches. That's really strange, because I remember it detecting 4 before. I'm trying on codefireX 20130127 test build with 2.5 performance. My phone is acting funny too. Maybe some other people can test this and confirm?

[Q] Epic Failed! Multitouch doesn't work on Tapping on 4.0.2

I have noticed Galaxy Nexus' epic failure on the multitouch while tapping on 4.0.2. I know there are plenty of videos out there reporting the multitouch not recognizing two fingers. Mine, however, shows that tapping does cancel the other finger that is still touching on the screen when one of the two fingers has been released. Can someone please verify the problem for me and is there a way to solve it in the upcoming ICS. Thank you.

Works fine here with 4.0.2 (GSM Version)!
Tested with this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.batterypoweredgames.mtvistest
same here 4.0.3 however tested other multi touch apps and no problems there . Could be app specific problem tho

Pretty sure its app specific or something cause if you go to settings--> developer options --> pointer location (checked) this cannot be reproduced.

I thought the same but i was unable to reproduce this bug on leaked 4.0.4 ROM while using exactly same apps. This leads me think it's an Android issue.
Btw, this bug has been floating on Google bug tracker for months now.
I tend to believe that there are plenty of different hardware revisions of the GN out there resulting in very different experiences with plenty of different issues.
This could also be the reason why Google has a hard time releasing a long awaited update for the GSM version of the GN.
Would be interesting to question the users about their hardware revisions.

Osmos relies on multitouch tapping.
Never have had a problem.

So you had this multitouch problem before 4.0.4? Hmm... this really annoys me and I would avoid playing games that requires multi touch tapping

ICS Ice Cream Sandwich

I am thinking of going back to my LeeDroid rom.
The only good things about ICS is the custom install, one setting which helped with internal storage.
I liked the twitter app which let me set a notification tone for someone in particular.
I have found the speed of the menu and opening apps quite slow. The keyboard is annoying. Using the track ball for moving along text is too fast. I can't leave it on charge when it is fully charged because the phone will switch off. The contacts settings in People is basic and looks odd.
Does anyone agree?

Awesome deductive thinking Batman!
via xda app
The people thing is kinda basic I suppose compared to Sense.
The rest. I prefer ICS

Yes and no. I'm using Leedroid right now but camcorder (including third parties) causes reboot when you press record.

I want my device faster but...still not going to such an old sense. Beauty + speed it's what i want
I guess it depends on priority and how you interpret two conditions. Speed and smooth. These stick together in different proportions and have completely different meaning.
Smoother ICS does not mean faster response, it just mainly higher FPS -"Frame rate (also known as frame frequency) is the frequency (rate) at which an imaging device produces unique consecutive images called frames.Frame rate is most often expressed in frames per second (FPS)" I just stick to GB roms for now.
I was using MIUI before and tried Sandvolds ICS to see what it was like.It runs really smooth and so far I've had no issues with it.
I don't really notice any lag, in fact a lot of my apps are running a lot better.

For calibration of the screen do this. Go to: settings- language & keyboards-
Htc sense input- advanced- calibration tool. There you can calibrate the screen.

Multitouch in games problem

Hi. I have a problem with my Desire. In games as is normal, I am using my left thumb to tell a character to move right or left, and right thumb to turn over. However, when I use left and right thumbs at the same time, the screen no longer recognizes that my left thumb has been pressed down the whole time and should still be moving in the direction I am pressing. But it is in not all games. For example I can play Modern Combat 4 and it works perfect. But in Blockstory, Bladeslinger and other I have this issue. My firmware is CM 10.1 VJ JB 6.0. I tried different JB roms, but still have the same issue. At GB roms I dont have this problem. Is it phone or ROM problem? Can it be fixed? Help please!!!
Sorry for my bad English.

Be sure you are only touching the screen only in 2 places. The Desire doesn't support more than 2 fingers at once.

Cm 10.1 Multitouch Fix ?

I really love jellybean roms on this phone but the problem is that I want to play games on my phone that require multitouch and I can't play them because the phone can't handle multitouch correctly . When I put 2 fingers on and then I lift one finger up , it seems to cancel the touches out and then I have to wait 2-3 seconds to use the touchscreen again . Can anyone give me a solution . I'm currently on rhythmicrom 1.3 on cdma

If its a bug in your ROM then nothing much you can do. You can report this bug to developer with probable logcat file attached. So he can try to fix it.
