Windows 7 on HTC desire

Probably a very silly question but I have to ask ;-)
Will Windows 7 ever be able to run on a rooted HTC desire ?
If so who's gonna have a go ...

Windows 7 is x86 if not x64 architecture and will not run on ARM based Systems.
And since its closed source nobody will bother.
So its not gonna happen.
If you like closed source buy Apple

More to the point, if you want windows mobile, buy an HD2.
And how about using the search button? This gets asked EVERY week.

Always someone moans about using the search button ... if you know the answer don't read the thread.
Ofcourse I don't want a HD2 otherwise my signature would say sent from hd2 all I wanted to.know is whether anyone would be able to get 7 to.run on the desire regardless of who likes it or what platform its meant for

Are u one of the boys who want to brag around saying their phone is like the best, because its an android phone but it can also run other devices OS meaning u got like 2 or 3 phones in one??
I mean thats pretty lame. Go buy an HD2 and run android on it, or flash a rom stuffed with galaxy S wallpapers and themes and stuff.
You bought a desire.. thats like the ultimate gadget out there.. and ur still not happy with it? Go ask ur mommy and daddy to break the piggy bank, and post a thread saying "i'll pay 1500€ per developer, who will join the team in making win7 flashable on desire"

Ofcourse we freakin' moan. We frequent XDA visitors see the same question posted over and over again by people who don't search.
If you had searched, you would also know the answer, just like those who read the rules when they sign up for XDA-Dev forums.
In the top of this very forum there is a simple thread called "Forum & Marketplace Rules".
And the first rule, to rule all the rest is:
1. Search before posting.
Use one of our search functions before posting, whether you have a question or something new to share, it's very likely someone already asked that question or shared that news.

there are 2 main points that make this thread pointless!!!
1) porting windows mobile is not possible on an android phone!
2) (and the most important) even if it was possible, windows mobile isnt open source, none of us own a licence for windows phone 7, that would make it piracy and therefore illegal

There are a few devs that have had this as early as last weekend - hence having the new 1.77 PRI. There is also a new radio associated with this release. It will begin to be pushed OTA by Sprint tomorrow (9/22) - and that is official.

Dont worry about it, just drop it. There are a few people that get pissed because it happens ALOT and by new people. So some people think they have to be rough so other people see and learn also. All I have to say is poor Toastcfh, he has to move all them and deal with the bickering. Just try to read the forum rules

I've been around SDX for a bit and jerdog has proven himself to drop some very accurate knowledge when it comes to release dates and inside info from Sprint. He's stated on a few occasions he's some kind of higher level tech for Sprint on the radio and towers end. I trust his info.

Is this going to mean new kernels once it and the source code are released. Im one of the rookies but im thinking the new stock kernel should have great battery life like the one flipz just released and with the fps fix worked in by htc it should be pretty damn good out of the box.

English may not be the persons primary language, but in an international forum such as this, you'll see grammar not being the best for some people.

Hahaha, I think the one about cloud computing is priceless....seeing how everyone is trying their best to catch up with Google's cloud offerings, even Apple knows that's where the user pull is at.

There is no denying that Google has incredible vision.

I remember google Androids early days, defending the concept and making iPhone users look/feel stupid. Ha ha.
I say Google Android because google didn't always have rights to Android. Without Google, Android would be nothing. I knew there was a reason I signed up for gmail beta back in the day. Haha

I never used Android before 2.0, but I remember when my cousin showed me his G1 and was explaining how awesome it was when there were almost no apps for it yet.
I was on an Omnia at the time, and was extremely jealous...as I tapped at my screen with a damn stylus.

Technically, it is. For the nexus 7 the Google developers are holding in their hands.
Not "out" as out to us, though.

Precompiled SDK rips are like waiting to take a crap for a week. Its slow, hard, painful, and marks up the bowl, making a mess.

Sdk != source, so there is no compiling. It will be a severe hack job, even worse than buying a non-nexus device and porting over an different device's software (I.e. sense to a galaxy s2, etc).

I meant for my post to both be a satire on noobs (myself included) and a thank you to the devs. I know Jelly Bean isn't out yet, that was the whole point of the post demanding a rom already. no need for comments like "noob is right,lol" Lighten up. And as to this post being a question, the question is there, just forgot ? after ("where our stock,deodexed,zipaligned 4.1 JellyBean rom is?)

Come on now, you know there will be a leak within a few days.
My prediction is that a leak for the GSM model will end up here very, very soon. Someone will port it to the CDMA model but it won't have any cellular connectivity. In two weeks we'll have our CDMA OTA leak, by the end of July we'll get our OTA but none of us here will need it.

For those who were'nt the brightest and sharpest at school, I asked if there is another smooth and stable os that a person can use as a daily driver, of course since it's a gnex forum, for his GNEX.
Now, Is there ? Maybe WP or even use a linux distro if there are dial and sms functions.

:facepalm: how ironic, its weren't not were'nt.. as for your question.. why did you get an android phone if you want to run windows on it? also ubuntu is out for the gnex but its not stable

I would love to try other operating systems as well.

I didn't get hurt. I was surprised by the stupidity of some people. Always looking for a way to lift yourself and get an ego boost by lowering others.
