Precompiled SDK rips are like waiting to take a crap for a week. Its slow, hard, painful, and marks up the bowl, making a mess.

Sdk != source, so there is no compiling. It will be a severe hack job, even worse than buying a non-nexus device and porting over an different device's software (I.e. sense to a galaxy s2, etc).

I meant for my post to both be a satire on noobs (myself included) and a thank you to the devs. I know Jelly Bean isn't out yet, that was the whole point of the post demanding a rom already. no need for comments like "noob is right,lol" Lighten up. Come on now, you know there will be a leak within a few days.
My prediction is that a leak for the GSM model will end up here very, very soon. Someone will port it to the CDMA model but it won't have any cellular connectivity. In two weeks we'll have our CDMA OTA leak, by the end of July we'll get our OTA but none of us here will need it.

I've been running Xdandroid for 3 months. I don't remember when I updated to 2.2..I believe it was July. All of my IPhone Geekers are asking me how to Jailbreak there devices(I haven't got a clue and don't plan on it). It is great work here and I am excited, looking forward to continuos great work. There are a few devs that have had this as early as last weekend - hence having the new 1.77 PRI. There is also a new radio associated with this release. It will begin to be pushed OTA by Sprint tomorrow (9/22) - and that is official.

I've been around SDX for a bit and jerdog has proven himself to drop some very accurate knowledge when it comes to release dates and inside info from Sprint. He's stated on a few occasions he's some kind of higher level tech for Sprint on the radio and towers end. I trust his info.
Is this going to mean new kernels once it and the source code are released. Im one of the rookies but im thinking the new stock kernel should have great battery life like the one flipz just released and with the fps fix worked in by htc it should be pretty damn good out of the box.

Uhm no? Why would you buy a 4.0 device and the want somebody to put 2.2 or 2.3 on it. Just get a device that runs froyo or gingerbread if you want it that bad.
I really like the hardware and style of the phone. 4.0 just seems sluggish compared to 2.2 or 2.3

What do you have that isn't working on 4.0? The developer needs to update their app. And sluggish? ICS is the fastest smoothest version of Android yet. Maybe you aren't use to all the flash and flair, but you can turn off animations.

No, the correct analogy would be you buying a porche, and then asking somebody to do an engine swap and put in a Escort engine...for free.
I can understand the want to go back to an older OS, sort of like people who want to stick with 'Windows XP'.... You like specific apps & how they are working on your current OS. Then, you switch to a new OS and your app isn't working properly anymore. You think "damn this new OS! I want the old one back!"
Well, the problem isn't the new OS. The problem is support for your app on the new OS. Just like with anything, it's just a matter of time before such issues are addressed and the devs fix/update the app for the new OS.

I just moved from my Miui running HTC HD2 to the T-Mobile S2 and I really like the phone but where are the Miui ROMs? Langthang had an awesome one for the HD2 and there was a couple of others that had a large following.

I just find it ironic how the guy calling people out on stupid questions has the most grammatical errors on their post. At least if you're gonna call people out have the decency to be a grammar nazi.

I have my share of trolling people for posting repetitive questions and in the wrong section, but sometimes people really don't know what to do or where to go. Each device's subforum are setup differently. Usually these threads should be replied once or twice at most and the thread can be moved or die out. However, we're in no position to talk down on anyone. We're all people behind these words. It can be a kid, an adult, someone's grandparents, who knows. But condescending words can totally ruin someone's mood and day and that will be reflected upon.

Sometimes people dont know where to go or what to do, really? Yea I'm not not gonna lie I was bit of an asshole, but im sure if he made to the GS2 forums that he passed the Q&A section on the way in. And I also understand that he wonders why there aren't any MIUI ROMS, but come on. How would it seem for me to go into the SGS3 forum and be like "Where are all ROMS? I had a SGS2 and there alot of roms, (insert name) has alot of great ROMS for the SGS2. Am I missing something?"
I do apologize for being such an ass, but if you dont understand what I'm tryin to say then all hope is lost.

Why do you hate that guy? You don't even know him. I agree with what he is trying to say, just not the manner in which it was stated. The op has obviously been around xda long enough to know about miui, he should know where questions belong. There is a reason there are different sub boards. There is no sense in filling the development section with ridiculous questions. A little research goes a long way. If he wanted a miui rom he should of checked the dev board before purchasing the device. Since he didn't, he should have read a little and would have noticed that cm and miui is lacking on our device...

Agree with jdubb a 100 pct. Phones like the hd2 have been out for a long time and we all know of about its huge dev support. Our phones are relatively new and people just gotta be patient. Straight up. If not, sell your phone and go get a Galaxy Nexus.

The op might have posted in the wrong section but the post is helpful in reminding DEV's that there is still interest in the ROM. From what I was reading on XDA and other sites was that MIUI for the TMO SGS2 should have come out around Xmas.
The delay as I understand it is due to lack of Cyanogen support, which is another ROM most of us are waiting to try and as far as I know the development of that has been halted until V9 is available.

I agree with mainmast on this one, and I think he answered the question and the root cause of the problem quite succinctly. If his was the first response to the OP, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion. This type of quick question in the dev forum can indicate a certain level of interest in the port. I come here looking for ROMs, and I have a specific interest in MIUI, as I love to use that on my Nexus One. Admittedly, I don't frequent the Q&A section as much as this forum, but I still want to know about the progress on a MIUI rom.
Not to add to an out of place post, but we can agree that the post from our military friend (thanks for your service, btw) was pretty strongly worded. Subsequently, the additional comments (including mine) have just added to the legitimacy of this question... we're all invested enough in the question or the forum to respond.

If you're talking about Nexus 4, that's not what I'm talking about, and the Nexus 4, is Jelly Bean 4.2, not 4.1.1, which is what I was talking about. If Sprint can release it, and Verizon can leak it, why can't AT&T at least leak something, even if it goes through another 2 or 3 leaks before official release.

Thought you were talking about 4.2. But either way. You're comparing carriers. Different carriers release faster than others. So to say verizon or sprint can do it doesn't really hold any significance. AT&T does there own thing. So if you're waiting on them I wouldn't hold your breath dude.
I realize that carriers release things differently, and VERIZON, didn't release there's it's a LEAK. So all I am asking is, where is the AT&T LEAK?

Because I want something specifically designed for my phone, not one that's close. Also I've seen several articles on here about people having problems with the Sprint version, especially with the GPS, and having to go back to stock 4.1.1, and reset etc......... I use my GPS a lot, so don't have time and can't afford it not to be guaranteed to work. Hence wanting an AT&T leak.

By definition, a leak is, something an owner doesn't want to be made available and somehow becomes available before it's suppose to.
I wouldn't expect AT&T to volontarily "release" a leak...
They're only doing a better job than the other carriers keeping their stuff to themselves.
Of course, that's unless Sprint and Verizon intentionnaly leaked theirs...

Hahah u sound frustrated. Even when the ATT leak comes don't expect it to be 100%.
As for the Sprint leaks I understand your reluctancy to flash it. Worse case is if it didn't work flash back to what did. That's the great part about Android.
I had issue with a certain JB rom until I found Graxxixnyc port and it works flawlessly. GPS et al.
Other then that just wait for ATT to give us JB, but as task said don't hold your breath as if we get official from them by the end of this year we would be lucky.

Never said they would "voluntarily" release it, otherwise I would have stated that implicitly. All I said was that since the OFFICIAL SPRINT release is out, and a leaked version of Verizon's SG3 software as of 10/8/2012 where is the AT&T version?

I'm not sure how long you've been with AT&T, but they seem to take the longest out of all of the carriers in terms of their release times. Leaks come and go and sometimes never come. Basically it's just a waiting game dude. Patience is key when with AT&T.

Its not about trolling "dude" its about talking to people in a respectful manner. I think its silly that when a some users are a developer they feel like they can come on and talk down to people. I'll just as soon run stock cupcake 1.5 on my phone than have some one treat me like **** for asking a question. Happens every day dude. Get used to it. That's not only weird but its also taking something waaaay out of context. This is you holding a grudge for some reason or another and releasing it in a development site. So either you should keep to yourself or contribute to this community. I know all this, and if that is what I wanted to do I'd do it. But what I'm looking for is an AT&T leak, that way it's has the most chance of having most if not all things working properly. They take longer than forever from what I've seen. Which really sucks for the user that wants to run stock official roms. There is no leak yet. You will definitely know when there is because it will be posted in the development forum and users that use touchwhiz will be all over it.

you should really be concentrating on #2 & #3. please remind yourself that this site is about development. please go to the more appropriate places like Facebook, Twitter, or start a blog if you feel the need to voice your personal opinions about me. Your observations are just that. yours. but either way they belong elsewhere. please stop polluting XDA with them. thanks.
