710 is the model number for a Samsung galaxy II phone. I747 is galaxy III. If you 'about phone's says 710. they either have you back the wrong phone or you have, and I don't know if this is possible without bricking your phone, the wrong ROM on the phone(?)

SPH-I710 is sprint version of galaxy S3. There is "L" before 710 not " i ". Here is SPH-i710 model of Samsung . And for OP: If you flash rom from difrent provider of Galaxy S3 that what you gona have in setting and about your device. This is normal.

I might suggest asking this question in the Galaxy S3 i9300 forums. I don't know if the Sprint forums are best to ask where most of us are only familiar with the Sprint S3 variant instead of the international version like you have.

Everyone made reference to the forum you should check in but nobody linked to it. You'll have a much better chance of getting an answer here:

The international version is a very different beast than the American Varieties, a lot of the tricks are not compatible between versions.

You questions will most likely be best answered in i9300 forun

Hi,
I currently have the At&t branded samsung galaxy s3 and it has no chinese language. How do I make this option available?
I already downloaded Odin and am ready to flash but I'm not sure which firmwares I can flash on it.
If I flash a International Unbranded firmware, would it brick the phone?
Please, this is urgent.
Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately I am not sure about how to get Chinese language support on your device other than flashing a new ROM such as CM10.1 or see if AOKP has the support.
What I can tell you is: Do NOT under any circumstance ever flash an international ROM to the i747. It will brick the phone.

You would be able to flash ROMs that are made for the AT&T/Rogers/Bell/Telus variant of Samsung Galaxy SIII.
Go to Settings -> About phone, and look at the Model number. It should display SGH-I747 (AT&T) or SGH-I747M (a Canadian variant). You might want to look on the label under the phone battery -- it should give you the same information. For these phone models, you will be able to flash ROMs that are advertised in this forum.
Make sure you don't flash ROMs made for another SGSIII variant (International I9300, T-Mobile T999, etc.), as it might just brick your phone. You have to flash a ROM that is made or ported to your exact phone model. For every ROM you find, read the first post of the thread: the ROM devs always say to which phone model their ROM is made for.
Hey folks I found this update to 4.1.2 on a site, it says that it can be done with a network unlocked s3. I'm using a t999 right now, will this brick the phone if I flash through odin? I unlocked my phone through the service choose I found on here a while back, here's the link:
http://androidadvices.com/xxellc-galaxy-s-3-jellybean-4-1-2-firmware/
Let me know if this is safe? Or you decide can compile it for us carriers? Thanks

Hi all. I've royally screwed up my wife's AT&T, American Samsung Galaxy S3. I need the factory ROM. I really need help with this one guys. I won't go into all the details of what I messed up, but suffice to say I know I can fix it if I can just find the factory ROM for this phone. I'll then use Odin to reflash, and all will be well. So can anyone help me out with a link to the factory, stock ROM for an ATT Galaxy S3?

Here u go try the at&t forum section. Just double check your phones model is correct before flashing any roms official or not. As some ppl have tried to flash wrong model version roms and bricked there phones.

I've never heard that. I always thought that if you have an American ATT Galaxy S3, then that's the only model you need to worry about. Are there sub-models or something? How do I determine what ROM goes with my model?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1756332
Here this sticky from this thread will explain it.
Edit:- if you go into phones "settings" and "about device" under model number should verify which model your using.

So My friend had network issues in his note 2 so i took it to help him. Now in the about phone in settings, it says n7100, however in download mode, it shows SGH T889 which is the t-mobile version... in the widgets it shows a few t-mobile widgets as well...he bought it second hand, so it is possible that the person flashed the t-mobile rom in the international version, or is it the t-mobile version. Thanks!
