This is my attempt to revive the Inc2 Community.. Even though the phone is alil old it is still a great device. Its not too big or too small, and it can handle anything...its also a great device to start learning developement on. Other devices are cake walk but this little guy is a pain in the butt..its ok though...it opens an opportunity to dive in and do some dirty work...

What are your netbooks specs? Because most netbooks I know of are Intel atom based and are not powerful enough to build.
Re: [Guide]Building (jellybean Vivow roms) from Sauce
Just got a new quad core i7 with 8gb ram I can't wait to see the build time ..... maybe a dumb question but where do we get the required device, hardware and kernel tree etc. that's in the requirements? Is that the part that is further down where u say u will make it easy for us?

It's possible... Check the XDA-U forums, follow the build guide there to get everything set up, then use this one for the vivow specific files.

I've used in it the passed to build cm9 for my vivow but aeroevan would never get back to me about some questions I had for him but my specs are 1.6ghz Intel Atom, 2gb ram, 160 HDD, Ubuntu 12.10 with Gnome Desktop. I originally set this up again to build for my Nexus 7 but I'm not getting any feedback about adding a kernel I want baked into my rom so I might just set it up for Vivow.
So I think I'm stuck. Followed all the steps, when I get to the lunch command, the option for cm_vivow-userdebug isn't on the list. Not sure what to do from here.

what are you trying to build? cm10.1?
the guide is mostly for 4.1.2 buut....you need to add cm_vivow-userdebug to vendor/cm/vendorsetup.sh that should do it
...with that said...building 10.1 your going to run into problems

Was trying to build 4.1.2. I'll add cm_vivow-userdebug to that vendor. I'm wondering why it didn't do that when I followed the steps.
i added aokp vendor to my repo but if your doin 4.2.1 you will have problems
repo is set for 4.1.2

This rom is awesome. I love the new features of the new Android.
I have ~155 Mb free RAM, i think it's probably enough for my programs.
It's not the smoothest rom, but i think it's good enough for the second beta.
Thanks for your great work.:good:

it is because of lack of CM features.
Just to be sure: does A2SD work? Or maybe I'm the only one with problems
Use Link2SD instead, it works fine for me!

Thanks for your answer.
Btw. I think the necessary features are in the rom and this can be the perfect way for the development.
The biggest problem was the amount of free memory, in the past I had ~50 Mb with ICS and JB roms, now I have ~160 Mb.

Hello all! I just got ahold of a used (mint!) HTC One V, and I'd like to know if any of you is aware of an unofficial or ported SlimBean ROM for this device. I use this ROM daily on my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 7, and I really like it. I haven't been able to confirm that it exists for the One V so far, so if anyone has information, please share!
Or, if a dev has planned to port SlimBean, I'll be more than happy to beta test it for the OneV!
Thanx!

It's an awesome ROM, imho. So far as I can see, it's the ROM that has provided me with the most ways to customize my phone. My past Nexus S ran it before I retired it, and now my GNex and N7 both do too. I thought CM10 and AOKP had everything, and they almost do, but Slim steps it up and adds more. And it has a much smaller footprint to begin with. All of this, of course, is my personal opinion.
I'm not a dev in any way, shape or form, so I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say we need AOSP sources (maybe it means a vanilla JB rom for this very device? some devices have official Slimroms support and don't have stock JB roms yet). It's sad if this is what's keeping SlimBean from appearing on the One V.
i'll run a build see how it goes....i'll also run an evervolv build, let me know what else needs updating guys. Also need some of you who can build from source to step up now, this place went to hell when myself and maxwen went to work on X+

Thank you for considering building it! Not a dev myself so can't help much! I went as far as installing Ubuntu x64 in a VM amd following a tutorial on how to install JAVA and the Slimroms git, but then the tutorial ended and I was without a clue about what to do next, lol!
Again, thanx in advance!
EDIT: I don't know if it matters or not, but I would like to see a 3.1 (4.1.2) build instead of 4.2.1. The 3.1 Slimbean build is very stable on other devices, and I think it'd be better than 4.2.1 for now.
I didn't plan on 4.2

running C build now
Hey everyone,
I've been building these builds for a long time now. I started small and hardly had anything different from the original CM ROM when I started. Now I have CM with Pie and HALO as well as many other small tweaks. I used to focus on the Audio Aspect but now I care more about performance. We already have another CM based ROM that has Viper Audio so I'll just stick with DSP Based Awesome Beats. That was my classic setup so we'll stick with it. 4.3 Audio has never been as good as the 4.2.2 that I used to build unfortunately hence why my new focus is performance. For the record, I use Poweramp Pro now and I enjoy having the Equalizer built into the app. Works great!
Here is how my ROM differs from CM:
- My builds are ALL built with Linaro 4.8.3 for the ROM and Linaro 4.7.4 for the Kernel.
- BLUE THEMED ICON SET
- AWESOME 1.8 GHz Kernel (see here for more details)
- HALO ))) with extended Color options
- PIE Control (also with Color options)
- Modded Trebuchet from sgt7 github
- More Animation options (.25 and .75)
- Additional build.prop and init.d tweaks for better speed and sound.
- AWESOME BEATS
- Zero Lag!
- SONY WALKMAN (Optional)
- Consider Using Nova Launcher for additional speed
[DOWNLOAD LINKS]
All builds on DevDB which you can find by clicking here
Flashable bootanimation! - This is so you can replace the bootanimation after installing other kernels. All credit goes to @mhassan11x! He not only made the boot animation but he also made this flashable boot animation reinstall kit for us.
Flashable Walkman for use in other ROMs.
Other builds can be found at goo.im/devs/Cl3Kener
Installation instructions
1. For best results a FULL wipe is required. Please back up your ROM before you begin!!!
2. Download any of the above links and latest JB 4.3.x Gapps
3. Reboot into recovery with TWRP 2.6.1.0
4. Flash the ROM
5. Flash Gapps
6. Flash WALKMAN (Link above and it's optional)
7. Reboot
8. Install Trickster MOD from Play store so you can tweak the kernel settings the way you like. Performance menu works but does not allow you to tweak all options.
For an upgrade to newer version you can "dirty flash" although you will need to fix file permissions afterwards. I recommend using ROM Manager because it does the most thorough job!.

I'm posting this because the latest nightly for Hercules is only 4.2.1. I've had a few requests through PM for this file and so I'm just putting it up for those that don't know how to build their own unofficial Cyanogenmods that are dying to try out 4.2.2. I also am working on uploading my new tweaked version for later today. Thank you though for making sure I was aware the the codes have finally been merged. I noticed that same question posted on the Cyanogenmod Facebook page recently and nobody seemed to have cared to respond. I assume like other Cyanogenmods they only change numbers if it's a completely new android version like 4.1 to 4.2 I think other smaller updates (like 4.2.1 to 4.2.2) don't count. I could be wrong though. Any other thoughts? Should I rename this thread?

This is actually going to end up confusing people because it will imply the kernel will work on 4.2.2 regardless of its GPU binaries which is not true.
