I flashed the PA rom (from stock Android) and the gapps package and it was fine. However, after I restarted, my gapps are all gone (icons are still there, but when I click them, it immediately closes) and the option to log into a Google account in Settings is also gone. I tried reflashing the gapps package but it didn't work.
Any help would be appreciated.
Even wiping cache/dalvik?

Do a full wipe then reinstall everything ... That helps in 99 % cases ..

I recently flashed cm7, works great. The only thing I'm having trouble is with the apps. I can't download the apps I had previously from the market because It says I have them installed already.
So how do I fix this/restore my apps?
thanks
Try and clear data for the market app and see if that works for you.
Erm, how exactly?
If you go into settings and then applications. Find market under all and click clear data.
Part of my problem is that I don't have the market app installed
Did you flash a Gapps package when you flashed your ROM? That will give you Market and other basic Google apps. I believe CM is packaged without an integrated Gapps loadout for legal reasons.

No I didn't flash Gapps, I just installed market via apk, cleared the data but I can't use the market cause I cannot set up a profile that its asking for.
How would I go about this Gapps package?
There was no data to clear anyways.
About to try this
wipe data+cache
flash cm7
wipe data+cache
flash gapps
If you wiped system, cache, and dalvik cache before you installed CM7, you shouldn't even need to wipe. You'll just reboot into recovery and flash the Gapps .zip just like you flashed your ROM.
As far as finding it, I'd just Google "cm7 Google apps" or "cm7 gapps", you'll find a download link for the .zip. Keep in mind that, unlike the ROM itself, the Gapps package isn't specific to one model phone.

Which cm7 version are you using?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
In that case you might want to start from scratch:
Boot into recovery -- nandroid backup -- factory reset -- wipe dalvik cache -- install cm7 -- flash gapps.
And yeah, check to make sure you're using a current stable cm7 build.

What version of CM7 did you flash?
depending on the version of cm7, i would flash one of aero's kernals
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/7717-kernel-aeroevan-vivow-kernels-for-aosp/
v8 needs to be for 7.2 otherwise, flash .7 version.
7.2 + Aero kernel .8 is an amazing combination. Do that!

7.1.0.1 stable is the version im using.

This fixed it, thank you.
A thanks to everyone else also.
I'm on AOKP milestone 5 and Franco kernel milestone 4.
I was on gapps from the AOKP site: gapps-ics-20120422-signed.zip
And upgraded to gapps from CM9: gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip
This message pops up a lot after a reboot, my guess is syncing w/Google stuff? Never had this problem with AOKP milestone 4.
Anyone have any ideas?
flash the gapps for AOKP.
Why would you "upgrade" it by flashing it? You could've just updated the apps by use of the Market.

The issue was happening on the original AOKP GApps, and I read on here someone suggested flashing the CM9 GApps.
how did you get to milestone 5? did you dirty flash from milestone 4?

I did a full wipe. Also cleared cache and Dalvik cache again to be on the safe side.
Is anyone else on this same combo/version of AOKP and Franco and has the phone working normally?
Could be an aberrant flash?
did you restore data from tibu?

Some apps + data I restored from TiBU, about 1/3 of the apps. Mostly just the games and WiFi, Bluetooth stored partnerships.
Ok, I think I fixed it!
Will reboot a few more times to confirm, but so far, this solution shows promise!

UPDATE:
Rebooted 4x and no more error messages! My GF will be so happy that it's finally fixed! It's her phone and she has about 250 apps and my last resort was to redo her whole phone :/
But, that solved it! Thanks to everyone to helped out!
Install gapps fixer.

Also:
I'm almost positive that the 4-29 G-apps is likely the one you want, considering you're using a regular AOKP Milestone version(as opposed to a seriously modified/themed kang version of the ROM). The Gapps package released from 4-29 fixes a Google Account backup issue still present in 4-22. So there is a benefit in flashing updated g-apps at times, due to fixes/optimization of Google account-linking functionality and other things of that nature.
If you flashed from another ROM, always try wiping system, data, cache and dalvik.
If you're coming from a compatible ROM, just wipe dalvik at most.
Force closes are almost always a permissions conflict or not flashing the g-apps with the correct procedure.

You're right about that.
My GF said she had errors w/Google Play last night. It wouldn't download any apps.
I looked into it and found this solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25877843&postcount=7
I think a more thorough solution to this type of error message (it's not really an FC) is to:
Remove your Google account (by going into Accounts & Sync)
Delete the data in Google Services Framework (by going into Apps)
Then, re-add your Google account
On that last step, I'm not sure if it matters whether you re-add your Google account through Google Play or through the Accounts & Sync settings.
I tried flashing the newest version of gapps (4.1.2) on top of old gapps (4.1.1) but it doesn't seem to stick. I tried to swipe away individual messages in Gmail but got nothing. I'm running the latest cm10 nightly
Is it possible to get the new Google apps (4.1.2) on cm10? I'll do a clean flash if it's actually possible

I've only ever tried to install gapps on a fresh flash, not sure about flashing over top of an existing install although unless the .apk is named differently it SHOULD overwrite the existing. You can always try deleting the gmail .apk from /system/app and reflashing.

I tried a clean flash and it didn't seem to work. Restored to previous.
Can you confirm you can swipe messages in Gmail?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Thats affirmative. Have you tried clearing the data and cache from the settings>app menu?
Try clearing cache and delvik cache than installing the new gapps. After it is installed clear cache and delvik cache again and reboot. This is the process I use when I'm not doing a full wipe.
I got the rom AOKP and when I try to open Google voice it force closes please help I have tried everything and read online and can't figure it out
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I would. Go into twrp.
Wipe system.
Flash ROM
Flash gapps
Flash any addons you may have (optional)
This should fix your issue.
If not you may be using the wrong gapps.
Just wiping system and then reflashing the same ROM with gapps will not wipe anything. It will act like you never wiped or flash. The second you wipe data or factory reset. Etc. It will lose installed apps. Or data. Or if you wipe data media you will wipe everything. But just invade always back up photos before reflashing.
Another option is to force uninstall via titanium back up Google now. And then installing it from scratch.

I'm sorry, but isn't this supposed to be in the Q&A forum?
Maybe clearing cache from recovery might help.
Try clearing app data on google play services, play store, gmail, and any other google app that isnt working. This should fix the problem.
If for some reason is doesnt then download the latest gapps for your device and install them through recovery
