[Q] General Question before Putting lifeless ROM - Sprint LG Optimus G

So i have all of the files needed on the phone.
im rooted and using apex launcer... If i do a full wipe when in recovery, will i lose my apex launcher config, apps i downloaded, and also pictures.?
This is like my first smartphone coming from a BB for 5 years, i did own a galaxy tab which was rooted and has 4.1 rom in it, but i always didnt care about what inside so i did a full wipe clean/clean davik etc.
thanks

No u won't lose stuff in ur sd card like pics and video. You will lose apps tho, so i recommend u back up with titanium.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium

I never lost apps when I flashed lifeless. All I lost was home config but that's prob because I went from stock to apex. If you choose apex while installing I'm sure it'll keep it the same. No guarantee tho lol

Choose the second option when you pick the wipes.
The first will wipe your sd card also.

Any way to revert all this back to normal.? I did a backup earlier and i guess it got deleted when i did a full wipe

Well the one that apex launcher installs with is holo locker. There should be an app in the app page. Go into it and unchecked enable hololocker. As for stock, you have to have it enabled to use a different one to my knowledge

Ok so i downloaded the Rom and for a couple of weeks it was working perfectly but then something happened and my landscape support for rosie just stopped working and when i checked my Rosie scroll folder there were no files in it is there is that what is the problem is there anyway to fix this or do i need to reinstall the rom
Can anyone help mee??????????
I have been running the ROM for over a month and have not seen that at all. I have seen twice now a big unexplained lag. Also installing/uninstalling programs seems to lag just a bit as well.
Do you have a backup you can restore from instead of starting from scratch? I usually do a backup once a month or so just to keep something around.

Boot Manager Not saving Phone Rom

Tried searching on Google and in the Forums before posting this as I am sure that it has come up, but I have found nothing (sorry).
I am using boot manager and when I run "Setup Phone" it says that it successfully saved the boot.img. Two reasons why I believe this is false on my phone
A) The boot.img in the folder is 0kb
B) When I try to boot back to the phone rom from a Slot Rom, it doesn't work.
Also, is there any way to save your changes in a slot rom to the rom slot without doing a full reinstall of the Rom and making changes again?
Thanks.
so if you can't boot from a slot back to the phone ROM, do you flash the update.zip in the bootmanager folder on your SD card to return the phone ROM? What happens when you do that in recovery?
My understanding of slot ROMs is that they write as they go, so if you boot into another slot or phone ROM, that ROM is "frozen" at the point you left it. I go back and forth all the time and they are all there with no problems

Well, in my experience, it isn't saving the phone ROM at all. It will save all other slots correctly, but not the default phone ROM.
Do you have logging in the superuser app disabled? That borks stuff up in boot mgr for some reason.

You can copy the boot.img out of your nandroid backup to your current ROM and overwrite the boot.img in the phone ROM folder

Problems with Giopro v1.6

I have been experiencing problems with Giopro v 1.6 for a while, which is that when I want to enter the phone and use an app suddenly all the icons of the apps (not the systems apps such as Gmail, settings etc) are changed to a same type. At this moment I can't use any apps and have to restart the phone.
Any suggestions on how to avoid this, or even an update to Giopro??
thanks
How excactly it happends?! When opening 1 app in particuarly or with any app?!
Do you use a2sd or similar!?

I use Link2sd, and it works well, so far.
When it happens I can't open any apps, except the Settings (other system apps icons are showing but didn't try them), all the apps I have installed is not functioning after it happens.
I want to flash back the stock rom and I have already made a backup before I flashed in Giopro.
Can I use Odin to flash the rom without going in CWM mode? The reason is the phone has difficulty reading from the sd card.
The back up is as two folders, I previously made by CWM.

Try going into download mode, not recovery. Sd card isnt needed for that.
Use;
Power button, home button and volume down button at the same time when your phone is off, and then connect to pc and flash with odin

I haven't had any issues with restoring apps with TB on my rooted SGIII. Haven't heard of anyone else having problems either (but know that a lot of people are using it successfully). I've used it with every rom I've flashed.
What do you mean when you say it "appears" you can't use it?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Don't you have to pay for it to restore backups across different Android versions? I could be mistaken. TB is the reason I rooted mine it the first place after I got the GSIII to replace my Epic 4G.
You should only have to pay for the full version with all of the GOODIES. You should download root checker to see if your fully rooted. you may be missing busybox or some other vital part. TB seems to be working for everyone else I know that has an S III.
I quess maybe the ui is different from the evo. I would press menu button then select batch and restore that way. Now i don't even see a batch option but when i first go i to the app it gives me a msg that i need to check unknown sources or something to allow other apps to be installed hell i don't even see that as a option.
Upper right hand corner icon will bring up the options for batch operations.

You will need to check the unknown sources box. From home screen: menu, settings, security, scroll down to unknown sources, check box, done.
Also, one of the recent updates (not sure which one) they moved the batch ops to the top right corner.
Good Luck!
Note that TB also make backups of system apps, and system apps are not always compatible with every ROM out there. So TB wont be able to restore them.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using XDA Premium HD app
not to hijack the OP, but is it possible to create a zip of your apps in TB so after reflashing a rom you could just flash that zip while in recovery and upon rebooting, your apps would already be installed?
I don't think TB does that, but there is an app in the the Play store that does make a flashable zip of your apps. App2zip or something like that.

Changing From Rom to Rom

Titanium Backup.
Been some problems with titanium back up when flashing new roms, see galaxy nexus development threads for some examples, if you want a relatively failsafe method that stores your apps off phone you can use a file manager like astro to back up all your apps into apks then drop the backups into a folder on your computer via usb, along with any media or data you want preserved, then reload after fully wiping phone and flashing new rom, you might have to download a file manager to install the apks if rom doesnt have one. Gather you have a custom recovery installed, dont forget to update it prior to flashing new rom so you can recover if all doesnt go to plan. Good luck

If you're interested in using your PC to back things up, you may as well give apk batch installer a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531880
If you are using the latest version of titanium backup, you have the option of creating flashable zips of all your apps with data included. Tried it a few times and it seems to work flawlessly for me. The key is to avoid restoring any system apps. I have about 70+ apps to restore and setup. Before it would take me an hour or two, now is done in about 10 minutes.

Titanium backup is useless unless you actually have the pro version. Pro version makes it all one click, set it and forget it. Definitely recommend it for any custom rom flasher.
