Just reflash your actual ROM and it will all be OK.

I am in a bit of a dilemma. my Galaxy s3 will not connect to any computer VIA USB. and i am currently rooted and on a custom rom (Jellybean)
Is there a way to return to at least the stock ROM (if I have to keep root, that is a risk I am willing to take) or am I screwed?
Any and all help is welcome and appreciated.
Try mobile Odin.. I've used it once, you can restore to factory without the need of a computer

I am currently running jellybomb 8.0 but I wanted to flash 12.1so followed the new installation directions but when I did a factory reset I did a system wipe as well. (Per directions) now when I try to reboot it tells me there is no os. And I cant get out of twrp.Did I brick my phone? Can anybody help?
Flash a kernel
All you need to do is flash a new rom, not kernel. It says no os because you wiped the system out, hence no operating system. So just go back into recovery and flash a rom.

When that dosent work...flash a kernel

When I click install (using twrp) it just reboots back into twrp. Is there another way I am supposed to flash via twrp?
Fixed! !! Took the battery out overnight and reflashed backup. Thanks for all your help.

For future reference, booting to Odin mode (power off from TWRP, then Vol Down + Power + Center/Home Button) and flashing a LJC/LK8 one click will also get you back in the game.

I used to zip file from the sticky thread.
Re-named to Update
Put on SD card
Booted into recovery
Ran and now all I get is the Galaxy SII screen.
I have done this a couple times before without any problems.
Anything I can do? If so give me some reading or instructions!
Thanks for the help.
You're not actually bricked. You've just soft bricked. Flash something via Odin and you'll be back up and running.

Yes find a one click odin and download to pc.
Clear cache and data in recovery also helps.

As Mattix724 said PC Odin a one-click. Try this http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=116 Directions are simple and explicit

just calrification.. technically a soft brick is still a form of a brick.. the op just didnt state which it was but correct.. if you can still get to the splash screen then its a soft brick.. not a hard brick..

Thanks all, I ended up using the FI27 One Click from Sextape, then I instantly received the OTA from Sprint (which was kind of lol).
Worked like a charm.
Still had to wipe all my user data because I was getting force closes, but on the positive side my battery life has been amazing.

My phone was working fine for the past few days. I believe I updated my nightly on July 28th. Today I picked up my phone and it randomly crashed. I figured it would just boot up, but it didn't; I took out the battery and replaced it several times and it didn't even go to the spining Cyanogenmod logo. I tried getting it into Recovery mode, but it shuts off 3 seconds after getting it there and tries to perform the same reboot task. Is there some way to factory reset the device w/o recovery mode?
What about download mode? If you can you could always Odin back to stock.

I'd try it, but I need to know what programs to use whilst doing so.
Just attempt to boot into download mode first, search ODIN in the Dev section. Sounds like another S3 is biting the dust.

To get into download mode, hold the power up home and power button simultaneously. Hold until a screen shows up and then press volume up. Do not plug in USB cable until you reach that screen. Launch Odin and flash the root66 md5.tar file and then reboot. Hope that works.
