[Q] bricked?? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am currently running jellybomb 8.0 but I wanted to flash 12.1so followed the new installation directions but when I did a factory reset I did a system wipe as well. (Per directions) now when I try to reboot it tells me there is no os. And I cant get out of twrp.Did I brick my phone? Can anybody help?

Flash a kernel

All you need to do is flash a new rom, not kernel. It says no os because you wiped the system out, hence no operating system. So just go back into recovery and flash a rom.

When I click install (using twrp) it just reboots back into twrp. Is there another way I am supposed to flash via twrp?

Fixed! !! Took the battery out overnight and reflashed backup. Thanks for all your help.

For future reference, booting to Odin mode (power off from TWRP, then Vol Down + Power + Center/Home Button) and flashing a LJC/LK8 one click will also get you back in the game.

Have you tried going into recovery? Maybe there is still cwm? Since your flash back to stock seems to have been unsuccessful.

Just had a thought. It's easy to get stuck on boot when you flash back to stock without wiping.
If you can wipe it/factory reset that could solve you're problem.
And it'll boot up.
It's confusing cause it looks a lot like your phone not booting cause of the kernel
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Yeah just take the battery out and get into android recovery by pressing volume up, power, and home button. Then wipe/factory reset and reboot system.
^^^^ just like the gentleman said. Reboot into recovery and factory reset it. It should boot up after that.

Recovery isn't there, any way I could do it from adb?
Sent from my HTC Ruby using xda app-developers app
If you can get into download mode, reflash the stock tar in Odin again or just flash the cwm or trwp recovery tar and reflash a different kernel
Sent from my SGH-T999
Here is a link to Odin-able recoveries that you can use. I also agree with the others that this is probably a mismatched ROM/Kernel that is preventing you from booting up. The only problem I foresee is that you Odin'd a stock image, so now you are not on CM10 anymore. Now you'll have to find a TW kernel that you can flash, like Morfic's or I think Ktoonez has one too. But you can ADB push the kernel to your SDcard so that when you flash the recovery above, you should be able to then go in and find your kernel and flash that.
What I suggest first is to Odin one of the recoveries (TWRP is what I use) and then once that is done, go in and Factory Reset and try to boot it up. If it works, great. If not, then you may need to move on to pushing a kernel and flashing that.
Volume up + Home + Power takes you to Recovery.
Have you tried that?

N7100 does not boot past start up screen

Hi All,
Couple days ago I tried to flash my note2 with mobile odin back to stock rom but something went wrong and since I have not been able to get past the welcome screen *Samsung Galaxy Note 2*. I can get into a recovery screen but I am unable to choose a new rom to flash with.
I ve tried to flash it with odin 3.07 and via kies but no joy.
At this stage I am quite desperate to get this resolved. Can anyone help me?
Download correct stock rom to pc. Mount SD Card in recovery. Transfer file. flash from recovery.
Flash stock rom via pc odin
make a nandroid bake up as soon as you root your phone next time.

Unfortunately I do not have that option. I only have volume up to continue or volume down to restart. When I go volume up the phone goes into download mode.

True but i had to use Odin and every guideline said the filed had to color yellow while for me it stayed blue but i figured heck at the moment it's just a paperweight so I don't have a lot to loose.
Now Rooting it again and placing my nandroid back up back and I am all sorted.
Thank you again!

I lost my data anyway I had backed it up with titanium but ran into problems restoring it... Lesson learned to create an image of my Android once I got it sorted again.

I had the same problem and almost had a heart attack thinking I bricked my phone when downgrading back to 4.1.1... Needless to say I just had to do a factory reset in recovery and it worked fine

u will need flash a custom recovery 1st then will be able to backup,
If you were on stock rom , I've noticed during Boot Loop if you flash the Stock rom will not wipe your data only Messages, contacts and Call log will be wiped.
If you follow my way you won't lose any files.
But you can backup everything via adb.

Firstly, before anyone can truly help you you need to mention your phone setup such as the Rom you're using, rooted/not rooted, etc.
If you're rooted and have a custom recovery then just wipe your system and dalvik cache partition and flash the same Rom again. All your personal files will still be intact.

[Q] (This andriod noob needs help)Note 2 keeps freezing and rebooting itself

My Note 2 is rooted on 4.1.2. It was rooted about a month ago and it worked just fine until this Saturday. It keeps freezing and rebooting itself and the only thing I could do is pull the battery.
I installed Dsploit a month ago and it was working fine for a while. But on Friday, it automatically reboots my phone after quitting the app (I don't use the app very often.) Later that day, my phone kept rebooting itself. Yesterday I deleted the app and had changed the settings on SuperSU to forget the app. The problem still occurs about 9-10 times a day.
The latest app I installed was Mr.aahh!!; I deleted it about 2 hours ago and problem is still unsolved.
Is there any other solution that is not factory reset?
Thanks.
Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.vinagre.android.emmc_check and check if you have a sane chip first. IF you do, clear cache, dalvik cache and see if gets better. If it doesn't, would recommend doing a full wipe and installing a custom ROM.
The app says "YES. Insane chip.", which I assume my phone has the sane chip. But how do I clear cache, dalvik cache? I'm really new to android, please excuse my noobness.
Thanks

Download Philz or CWM recovery (search in xda ) for ODIN
Turn off your phone then press volume down+power+home key at once for a while then again press volume up key...
now
Connect. Your phone to pc and open odin it will detect your phone... then select recovery file in PDA and flash it...
Then turn off your phone and press vol. Up+power+home key
And clear cache then flash any Custom Rom....

I just used Andromizer to clear the dalvik cache according to my Google searches. Does the app do the same thing as clearing it through Odin? My phone seems to work normally at this moment. Would try the more difficult method if the problem is still there. Thanks a million tho :good:
