HTC GLACIER / MYTOUCH RADIOS
Hey All!
I saw that quite a few requests were coming through for the radios for this device so I thought I would spend a few minuets and pull the ones that I could find for you all. All I did was download the individual zips that were listed in the "ALL PD15IMG" thread in the general section. I think there is a couple of radios missing so please don't complain. Since I no longer have a working Mytouch a few of the files will be uploaded labeled as the android build they accompanied when they were released. If someone wants to install these I can change what the version numbers are in my OP and on Dev Host for you all.
As always proceed at your own risk. I am not responsible for bricked devices!!!
Instructions
1. Download radio
2. Move radio to the folder where you keep your ADB files. For most people this will be the platform-tools folder inside of the android sdk.
3 Rename the radio from xxx.img to radio.img to keep things simple
4. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT that you check that the md5 sum matches before flashing the radio.
5. Boot into Fasboot and connect your phone via your USB cable
6. Using command prompt navigate to the folder where you placed the radio in step 2.
7. Type this command then hit enter..... Fastboot flash radio radio.img
8. Reboot and enjoy

1. You can't use adb to flash a radio. So the second part of your post doesn't matter.
2. Mac is a little different than everything else. I believe you have to put a ./ in front of every command. Anyways here is a guide that should help you out

mark manning,
Yes have try the site you gave me and it the same failed message.
So I decided to try in the PC and it the same failed message as well.
Any other way to try something different or is it my phone that is causing this fail message.
What other option do I need to look into in my phone.
Thanks for your help.

Hi I recently flashed the Alpharev HBOOT and had Clockworkmod 2.5.0.1 installed, but the main reason I S-OFF'd was so that I could flash the experimental CW3 which I have had major problems with so I wanted to revert but I can't find the 2.5.0.1 recovery img anywhere!. I don't need the update.zip I need the .img so if anybody has it or a link to it, will you please let me know? Thanks

to flash it (through fastboot or similar) you want the img format. Also it would be wise to check the MD5Sum of your download before flashing. Just sayin'

if you have the zip image flashable with clockwork mod u can... browse in the Desire hd radio thread...
but i do not recommend to you flash any radio from recovery... its not A safety mode....
use fastboot commander tool or flash it via adb of the sdk
take the radio thread link... and read the 2# post

I'd recommend the method from this thread instead as it's for the DHD and not Inspire: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054304 You don't have to use command prompt (adb push blablabla...) to get it on your sdcard, just copy it to your sdcard anyway you like (or download it to your phone and move it to the root of your sdcard) but remember to check md5sum!
I think its not blablabla,

You must have misundestood me, the OP was asking for a method to flash radio without a computer and the thread marsdta suggested is from the Inspire 4G forum. I atleast want to be 100% sure that the method used to flash the radio works on the DHD, as flashing the radio is one of the few ways to brick your phone if it goes wrong.
The thread that I suggested uses adb to move the zip-file from the computer to the phone, which isn't necessary. You can just download it straight to your phone or drag and drop it from your computer and move it to the root of your sdcard. I wrote the "adb push blablabla" just to show what I'm talking about and because I thought it was unnecessary to copy the entire command lines, no depreciation was meant.
Maybe we are talking of different things... Sorry if i offensed you... when i arrive to my house I'm going to edit the post for not create confussion...

I posted the link for the inspire thread because I was in it prior to posting here. In the thread the links were to the dhd radios. I found it easier for a quick response to post it. So apologies if I added to the confusion. But flashing for the dhd and inspire are the same as they basically the same phone.

Yes I know some people have thought of the possibility, but I haven't seen anyone confirm it? Except the story where leith flashed the wrong radio, but if he had let it boot normally how knows what would've happened. You still can brick your device by flashing a corrupted radio or by pulling the usb-cable/battery out during the process or are you willing to try it and prove me wrong?

Alright, well in that case But I still would recommend people to be sure they do it right (the radio flashing guides also tell the same story) just in case and be aware that there is a small chance. Maybe some people have just been lucky.

I downloaded Gingerbread 2.3.3 on my Rooted Evo 4G as per xHausx thread. Everything went well.
I am about to flash the Radio he has in his thread here >>
Standalone Radio PC36IMG (must be flashed through the hBoot/fastboot)
Evo Radio Version 2.15.00.04.08
(MD5 1ECE6F6BC355AFB721BA7264F82DD1E7)
-I downloaded the file using my Evo and it is a ilivid.exe file.
- I renamed it PCM36IMG.zip in Root Explorer
I don't know if the above 2 steps I did are correct, which is why I am asking here.
Do I have to use my pc to achieve the Radio Flash, or can it all be done using my Evo.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
If this has been discussed already, just point the way.
You put the file on ur your evo (you dont need root explorer) and boot into bootloader then in bootloader go to fastboot and then it says start update and click vol up for yes
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Did I rename it properly?
Don't you need root explorer or similar to rename, and to download zip from?
In addition, the power button submits your choice.
No you dont need root explorer and yes you press power to go to fastboot but one you have the file on your sd card go to fastboot and then it says update and press power up

And do NOT pull the battery for any reason. It will hang on a stock recovery screen the reboot and finish updating

Thanks everyone for your input.
I downloaded the Radio/WiMax combo but when I went into recovery and chose the .zip file, it said checking radio, but then I got the default bootloader screen again.
I clicked Reboot & Install after the download was complete and nothing. Just get the Rom Manager Home screen.
Will try later again after I figure this out.
Update:
I am in the process of flashing that zip and is in progress.
Will see what happens.
No luck.
I'm done for now. Don't know why I'm having so many issues as compared to flashing Gingerbread??
UPDATE!
SUCCESS FINALLY!!
- I downloaded the File in xHausx thread >>
Firmware:
Must be flashed through hBoot/Fastboot! Not Recovery.
PC36IMG - Radio, WiMAX and PRI Updates (MD5: 2E5C63EA59891A69F6D55C257CF165D5)
- I renamed it PC36IMG.zip using Root Explorer
- I moved PC36IMG.zip to the Root of the SD card using Root Explorer by selecting 'Move', then going to 'sd' then Pasting PC36IMG.zip there
- I used QuickBoot and entered HBoot and FastBoot mode
- PC36IMG.zip was recognized
- I pressed the 'Vol Up' key to acknowledge 'Yes' to continue with PC36IMG.zip (@jadden....Now I know what you meant by ''pressing vol up to start download )
- After Update was completed, I pressed vol up for Yes to Reboot
- Evo started up and I checked the Radio, etc. and SUCCESS!!
One of the issues I had before was that I didn't put the PC36IMG.zip into the Root of my sd card. This is why FastBoot didn't recognize the .zip
After much time spent with having issues, and after reading the help I got here, and Googling, the whole Process of FastBoot took 2 minutes!!
Thanks for everyone's input!
I still don't know why I couldn't use Rom Manager Recovery as suggested regarding the Radio files from Caulkins thread. I must have missed something. Maybe I should have used Recovery in Quick Boot I guess. But a moot point since I was able to use FastBoot regarding the link to the Radio in xHausx thread.............
You guessed it, I dropped the Evo and the Screen shattered!!
After All this Work......UnF'nBelievable!!
I have TEP so I'll have to order another one.
I had my Evo running so nicely.
I'll order it not activated, install Root and Install the Deodexed Gingerbread version as I did prior.
I would love to just have the Glass/Digitizer replaced, But that may be more trouble than it's worth..................
Yeah but if you get it replaced they will give you an evo that has official gingerbread which can't be rooted yet.

Well, That Sucks!
I thought maybe it wouldn't have Gingerbread in it, and I'd have to do an OTA update myself, which I wasn't going to do.
Hopefully there will be a Root available soon........
Btw, if it does come with GB installed, can I install Froyo and then Root?
Update:
I just called Asurion, and they have Evos in stock. Will be shipping out tomorrow, 5/6 Monday.
Since the Official Gingerbread is also being made available tomorrow, and I asked that my replacement Evo Not be activated, it will probably be shipped with Froyo installed. Which would be just the way I like it..................
after you flash it the radio , how do you know it has been flash, what has been changed that you can see and where can i see it to make sure??

It seems several users across the web are reporting that the 4.2 Jelly Bean update over the air (OTA) to their Stock Galaxy Nexus devices is failing after reboot, with a collapsed Android showing a red triangle. I am also affected, and have never seen this many reports before.
Some examples:
http://www.galaxynexusforum.com/forum/galaxy-nexus-help/8116-system-update-fails-why.html
https://www.google.com/webhp?source...b024c3c&bpcl=38625945&biw=1278&bih=1016&ion=1
I am stock GSM Galaxy Nexus.
I am not rooted.
My bootloader is unlocked.
I have tried five times by clearing data in Google Services Framework and applying the update, which downloads OTA and verifies correctly. There is no logical reason an unrooted, untampered with factory stock GN should fail in this way, so I suspect something is wrong at Google's end.
Any ideas from anyone smart and constructive?

That is helpful however my last update to 4.1.2 was also done OTA so I cannot think why I don't have the required radio.

D. Type in the commands into the command prompt
1) Make sure your computer recognizes your device by typing: fastboot devices
2) Unlock your bootloader (if you have not already done so): fastboot oem unlock
7) Optional (NOT optional for n00bs) -- Flash the radio: fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxla02.img (or whatever the name is of the radio image that you downloaded).

help , i too am on takju 4.12 stock w baseband xxlf1 and i returned to stock unrooted 4.12 using wugfresh's toolkit and return stock recovery as well .
ive done this 3 or 4 times over the last weekend and now again am downloading the OTA for another try,
I always get the red triangle after a few seconds . Is there a way to get the OTA upgrade to proceed when the red trianlge appears ?
i tried other method to uograde to 4.2 using techfanatics mac instructions but after upgrade the reboot hangs at the multi colored X and will not proceed to boot.
I tried factory reset of CWM but my Nexus gsm still hangs at the multicolored X,, so i went back to Wugfresh's Nexus Root toolkit 1.55 to save me by unroot flash stock back to 4.12 takju. (4 times already)
Any help suggestions would be appreciated, am pulling the 4.2 OTA again and will try again,
If I just stay at 4.12 the system uodate remnder bugs me every hour.

Hello all,
My wife has the Virgin Mobile version (CDMA) HTC One V. She wanted me to install a new ROM for her. I've had ROMs on it before, but she got the OTA from Virgin Mobile and didn't tell me. Well I've been trying to put all sorts of different ROMs on it, and everyone has had the bootloop bug. I traced it down to the radio being updated to 1.00.00.0928. I've found posts saying to get the RUU, extract the rom.zip and rename it to PK76IMG then put that in the root of the SD card, then let HBOOT take care of it. It fails every time. Flashing recovery_signed.img and then running the RUU also fails. Well, come to find out my HBOOT version is 1.57 and as far as I can tell I'm screwed.
Am I screwed guys? I mean do I have any options in getting a working phone out of this? I'd be happy just to get it back to stock, but at this point it's looking like I have a nice paperweight that lights up.
If there is any help or info you guys could give me I'd be very appreciative. Thanks in advance.

try to use fastboot mode.
start the ruu on windows, before pressing any buttons, start a search window.. in the top of the search window ( like you are going to type a www. address) type %temp% and hit enter. on the top of the search, you will see two folders that have many nunbers and letters for the name. in one of them you will find a "rom" zip extract it and inside you will find recovery_signed.img. put it in your fastboot folder
put your phone in fastboot and fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
now run the ruu utility

Thanks for the reply. Sadly, I've already tried that. Same sort of error. It gets through the signature check and then when it reaches the HBOOT part of the installation it gives me the error saying I have the incorrect version of the RUU, but I'm using the same RUU I've used in the past with no issues.
I really don't have a good answer. Maybe try one of the new ion kernel ROMs that support the new radio

Before you RUU back to stock make sure you relock your bootloader by fastboot oem lock then go back go fastboot and launch the RUU

There was just another ota on virgin other than the new radio one...it may be the cause of the problem. Crappy part is it adds nothing, just have to stick with beyond's or Simon's codefirex. Also someone just uploaded a kernel that works with the new radio for myone, I highly recommend it.

Also if you want to return you need to relock the phone (as said before) flash back the stock recovery (you did that) AND flash back the ORIGINAL kernel (nobody said that but this is needed too).
You can get the stock kernel from the RUU you have downloaded the same way as the recovery image. Search for the boot.img or boot_signed.img and of course flash it from fastboot mode.
Try it, hopefully it will work.

I don't think u need to flash the original kernel just the recovery as the RUU installs the original kernel for you

I know you have to relock... I've flashed the ruu at least 3 times on mine and my sister's I was just saying because there is another ota update, not just the one updating the radio. But another one after as well that comes with this sprint 4g message. I'll try and downgrade again for the sake of curiosity. I'll get back to you guys soon.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, but I'm still unable to get it back to stock. The HBOOT in the RUU is older than the one on the phone so it won't allow the RUU to work.
Is there a way to rollback/downgrade the HBOOT?

Yes, so your hboot and radio are updated

That's the ruu I usually use, and I can confirm...after the latest ota on virgin you won't be able to downgrade back. It updates the hboot.

It wouldn't be too bad if we could get Simon's radio fix on every kernel, the data speeds are noticeably faster with the otas so I don't mind much.

Yeah that's the one. Unless I'm mistaken it's the only one available to download.
Same Problem
Nothing substantial to add. Just wanted to say that I'm experiencing the exact same problem. I've got the CDMA HTC One V that I flashed with the latest RhythmicROM. It booted up fine but quickly manifested the boot loop. I tried restoring to my CWM backup, but that gets stuck in the boot loop too (does that sound right?) I followed the instructions in the "ROM Randomly Rebooting?" thread in the General Forum, but encountered the same error when trying to run the RUU. I used the following RUU: (RUU_PRIMO_C_ICS_40A_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.08.652.6_Radio _1.00.00.0521_2_NV_VM_3.46_0503_PRL61008_release_2 62414_signed.exe). I have the updated radio (updated to 1.00.00.0928), and the updated HBOOT (1.57).
A couple people have mentioned ROMs that support the new radio. Can someone let us know exactly which ones those are?
Thanks!
Edit:
Just noticed that the RhythmicROM does say it has support for the new radio. I didn't add that up until just now. I'm hoping that it will work.
Edit 2:
I was able to get the Rhythmic ROM working successfully with the OTA Fix that is listed and linked to in his thread. The OTA_fix.zip file contains an updated version of boot.img that I flashed (using fastboot) after installing the ROM.
Simon's and beyond's codefirex both work, as does the cdma myone. It just depends on the kernel you can use for the rom. Most devs started using Simon's fix so we should be pretty good moving forward.

So I've been trying some of the ROMs and kernels you guys suggested. They boot into Android and I get a popup that says Android is updating... optimizing file 1 of 394 or whatever... It gets through a few of those and reboots. I let it go all the way through until there were no more files that needed to be optimized and... reboots endlessly.
