Ok to Update OTA?

So I'm rooted, and I'm flashed with a stock rom that allows me to remove Sprint's crappy apps. Would it do me any harm to update the OTA updates from Sprint?
HTC System Update 1.32.651.6
which rom did you use dude?
The ROM I used was http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699847 I believe. Or you can just follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701004
OTA will likely remove root, so don't update via OTA if you want to keep root. Wait for someone like joeykrim to release the stock rooted ROM.
When you rooted you didn't use the updated rom? There is a 1.32.651.6 rooted rom iirc
If you followed theBiles' instructions, just flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697636
It is the rooted updated ROM. I don't think you will need to wipe anything.

[Q] Unrooting for OTA update

I rooted the phone then update came, I like the sound of some of the updates so I want to take on the updates.
I came across this post..
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1941546
Did I read it right? If I apply this file, I wont have to keep on rooting/unrooting to take on updates? Or can I reset counter using triangle method?
Just dl voodoo ota root keeper from the play store, temp unroot accept the ota update and reroot using the app works perfectly
Either way will take you to the latest update. If you use triangle method, just follow instructions to reroot
and ota rootkeeper wont install stock recovery for you. it also wont replace any system files you may have messed wit. still too many chances for the ota to fail
-my 2 cents

it says useless with: samsung phones updated via Kies or Odin..... I used Odin, so I guess it wont work
Download Freeza's ALL IN ONE zip and install through recovery.

It's the latest update and you wont lose root.

No. OTA updates require stock recovery. However, you can revert to stock recovery and unroot as you please. Also, you can flash OTA updates through TWRP once a flashable zip is made, except you have to download it and flash it manually, just like installing a custom ROM. Cheers.

I received the last update through OTA on a rooted Stock ROM with TWRP installed.
After the install was finished TWRP asked if I wanted to restore the root. All went smoothly.
To clarify.. I did not flash the ROM. I used the normal OTA update.

I believe you can on small point updates. The full update from 4.3 to 4.4 most likely won't work with a custom recovery.

you must have stock /system folder + stock recovery
you can be rooted, by if you delete some files in /system - you break your ota
new ota will be with new radio too
after ota super-su apk will be removed by the ota
---------------
i restored /system apps from sdcard before 4.3 ota and migrate very well from 4.2.2
The ota 4.3 update removed my root and Twrp. Hope 4.4 doesn't do the same. It's always a pain for me to restore root with my Windows 7 laptop. It keeps installing the wrong usb drivers which get in the way of the wugfresh toolkit access to the nexus 7. So it's no easy task for me.

[Q] Before I get the OTA

I have a rooted Nexus 7, what should I do prior to getting the latest OTA so as not to have problems (installation failures)? Are there any spicific apps I should install so as to maintain the root or will I need to unroot get the update then re-root?
Update and re-root.

Previously, I flashed the OTA with TWRP and before rebooting I installed the newest version of SuperSU, and I remained rooted and good to go. I assume it will be the same with the newest OTA.
UPDATE: just installed 4.4.3 using the method I described above. Everything went well and still rooted.

OTA Update OH3 to L900VPSCQA1?

Anybody know the purpose of the OH3 to QA1 update? Worth the trouble to lose root etc?
How do you turn off the update notice if I don't want to install?
Thanks.
Most likely a security update... I took the update and then re-rooted successfully with Chainfire's CF Root. (I factory restored my phone to oh3)
