(UPDATE) Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III Latest Build LJ7 4.1.1

So if you are coming from epic 4g touch you might be familiar with a thread that is updated now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494847&highlight=i+have+the+best+news but it was called " I have the best news for you Ice cream sandwich on epic 4g touch". It was a thread that showed the latest build that ics was on for our phone so i just changed the model and the date and i find rds that have not been released yet

These are probably small software updates like LG2. Would be cool if they were JB though.

Im thinking minor as well if they were Jellybean i would be having a spasm attack lol im going to keep checking the rdfs everyday and see if i ever see differences or android version 4.1 <3

It would be sweet to have sfhub period i really hope he gets this photo eventually but these aren't leaks all they are is an rdf of the new build kinda like a log of where the new build stands but i should ask sextape where she got her leaks from she lives in so cal also ima try n make friends for leaks lol
Edit : sorry i read these leaks my bad lol yes im praying for leaks well the only difference i put was 4 and its something about frameset so im thinkin maybe framework Change to support brightness slider?

We NEED someone on the inside, that's how we got leaks. hopefully we can get them out someone else to be the middleman

Amazing! I'm glad they are working on jelly bean. This will help us to further our deving on jelly bean assuming they release JB with source. I wonder if they are hiding the JB rdf as well, can't see the one in the link.

You need to remember it is a small team of Samsung that do the updates for our phone, not the ones who do the whole phone software itself. They probably did a quick version of ICS for our phone to get people to keep buying it since it's still a top of line phone and want to squeeze any amount they can. So it really shouldn't change your decision if you like the basic device or not.

I'm not to happy about spending hard earned money on something that is as buggy as ics. Business is made by making the customer happy with what they pay for. Motorola Photon users for instancewill likely not choose moto next time around.

Can we root or install roms on the GS3?

My Galaxy nexus just died. I dropped it and cannot read the sdcard inside it. I tried CWM recovery, and it gives me io errors when trying to flash it..
I have 3 options:
Repair, get the S3 or wait for the next nexus if it comes out on october 29th.
What would you guys suggest I do? I really love the Nexus brand because i get all the updates directly from Google.. I also love Android 4.1.2 and I know the S3 does not have it..

Thats weird, cause when I looking in my phone options funny enough I see, 4.1.2. Anyone else? I feel like you are going out of your way to troll..just saying.

Not Trolling at all, I know 4.1.2 is suppoded to be released anytime soon on the S3. Just not sure in Canada. My friends who owns S3s are still on 4.0.4.

There are leaks and custom ROM for it but officially should be in the next few months.....soon as the powers that be get their you-know-whats out of their you-know-wheres lol

you need to slow down and not post until you realize where you are. the is XDA. a place where things in the mainstream are not. that being said. we have Android 4.1.2. unlike the rest in the mainstream that don't. so just take my advice and search around the forums before creating threads of your own.

The answer is Yes, I am currently on the Cyanogen 10 Nightlies ... Everything works great aside from some random screen artifacts in youtube and the overall very functional and worth the dabble.

Can anyone help me please im using 4.0.4 rooted but want to update to offical 4.1.1 jellybean?

Well, technically it's not out for AT&T or Verizon or TMO.
But it is officially out for Sprint now I think. Released a day or two ago from what I read.
But most or all of the GSIII's have 4.1.2 available via custom ROM installs.

Really? Your title can't be serious. 1. Your on XDA. 2. You made mention of CWM, so you know rooting. 3. One tab back leads you to all GS3 development - I'm assuming you found your nexus rooting info on here so you're well aware of how the site is organized.
Is it April 1st again? There's another thread asking about rooting tutorial.

RDF Discussion Thread for Sprint Galaxy S3 (SPH-L710)

This was done over on the Samsung Galaxy S2/E4GT threads by my good friend Febby. I did some digging and discovered we didn't have anything like it over here on the Galaxy Note 2 threads. After doing one over in the Note 2 threads I had some people ask me to do one here too.
Being the RDF junkie that I am I thought it might be fun.
For those of you who don't know what an RDF is... RDF stands for "Resource Description Framework". In non-geek terms an RDF is essentially a specification sheet that details what the finished product will be. In this case the product itself is already out but any time there is a software revision it results in a build number change. Each build number has an associated RDF.
Before we get too much further, you MUST use Internet Explorer to view an RDF. For whatever reason they ONLY display correctly in Internet Explorer.
You can almost always view the most recent RDF by entering http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SPH-L710/latest in Internet Explorer. *Generally the only time you don't see the latest RDF on here is when it's a potential OTA.
I will try to maintain this thread with the direct links to each RDF as they come out. I will use Post #2 to keep a history of some of our older RDF's. If I miss one don't be afraid to point it out!

Don't know if anyone saw it but I made the point in the OP that sometimes an RDF isn't posted with a build because it's an OTA candidate. hint hint...

Nice! I'll get that added. It seriously had to have popped up in the last couple of hours. When I put this post together last night it wasn't up yet.

Kinda odd that the screenie says 4.1.2 but the rdf says 4.1.1...... no biggie tho.....after my time with the og epic4g....the s2 4g touch...and now my gs3.....if sextape has it.... its the real deal.

Knox will bring some difficulties in terms of rooting, right? I'm hoping not but I have a feeling it will.

Knox and seLinux will make our lives more difficult. Confirmed. They've been dealing with it in the S4 forums and now the Note3 as well.
There are ways around as I understand, but no telling if they'll work on ours.

I have strong beliefs in Chain fire though lol he's a magical man. If we didn't have Chain fire with us, we'd have to go Nexus to root.
And not to mention AdamOutler he's also a beast as well.

OTA/Kies would be for normal unrooted stock users on 4.1.2
The majority of us will be waiting for someone to extract 4.3 and make a custom flashable ROM, it's been like this for all of the major updates we've had haha.

Yeah its pretty solid as is. I'm just OCD and cannot stand no tweaks and bloat on Touchwiz. I'm getting pretty good battery life and Wanam and Xposed are wonderful together. Not to mention the nice added ability to download content from Instagram and Vine.

4.1.2 is not 1.5 yrs old.. its a yr old.
