Hi.
Ive been searching around to find either a gallery or an app that would show me my dropbox videos and pics in the gallery without copying them to the device. This would save me a lot of space as i take a lot of pictures.
Ive used foldersync from the market but that just copys the files across so not what im looking for.
Ive heard that the note 2 has this function and also htc sense.
Cheers
I find the Dropbox gallery in the Dropbox app pretty good. Tap on the gallery tab to get to it, 2nd icon at the top
I too love the dropbox gallery itself, but would like to see a way of integrating dropbox into other gallery apps..
Nice thread, let's hope someone finds something.

+1. I do the same thing as OP currently as I have found no better alternative. I can confirm that the note 2 doors do it.

Might be on to something here.
Does anyone know how to link an icon to all your photos folder in pictarine?

Right ill tell you what i did. In pretty happy with it.
I installed pictarine and added my dropbox account.
I went to preferences-starting screen and i chose my photos.
I installed Nova and i changed the icon of pictarine to my gallery one so in effect i have replaced my gallery with pictarines. Its pretty nice and now all my photos are in the one place at the click of a button

Having just updated to build 26 I have discovered that my YouTube app has been misplaced. Does anyone have the apk, or a solution to this?
Market?

I'd upload it for you but my tapatalk doesn't let me upload non picture files...
Do you see an apk in your System/App folder? That's where I was getting mine from

Youtube was removed from the Google Apps package as it is now available in the Market.
I don't have it there. Would reflashing gapps work?
Isn't it easier just go to
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.youtube
and dl

Fix for Story Album app
The way around this FCing is stupid but works.
A) Go into settings
B) Click More then Date and Time
C) Set the date format to something else and back out of the screen.
D) Go back into Date and Time and choose the format you actually want.
E) Back out back to the home screen.
F) Reboot your phone.
Bingo. The app actually works rather than crashing as it tries to create an album.
Hope that helps!
How did you even come up with that work around thats crazy. Glad at least you have a solution albeit a very, very weird workaround. Thanks for sharing:beer:

I stumbled onto it on a post about ten pages into a Google search and tried it in desperation. Could have knocked me down with a feather when it worked!
Got a link to the file(s)?

Apologies. I only just noticed this wasn't in the S4 forum. My bad. Hopefully it still works on the Note II.
Hi I'm wondering if anyone has found an android app thats able to plot personal points of interest by GPS and maybe add a photo to that. It would have to be personal too so that my spots don't get nicked
Basically when I find a good place for a certain wild food if like to be able to plot the place by GPS so that I can find the same place next year.
Cheers

Use Google maps and add a star at the location. Then it's in your My Places area forever until you delete it

Is that private though. Will it not share it with the world?

No, it's only viewed by you I think.. I don't know about using Latitude though.. Try it on some random location and ask a friend if they see it using latitude :/

Indeed, correct. Starred places are only visible by you. You can share them later if you want but it doesn't do it automatically.
Yeah but I can't write anything on it I can only star it. Means I will have loads of stars and not know what it is in the individual location

Try OruxMaps. It supports offline mapping/tracking (with pre downloaded maps) and you can create and edit waypoints and tracks. A bit of a learning curve to it compared to something simple like Gmaps, but it is incredibly powerful. It comes along on all my backcountry adventures lately.

You can open https://www.google.com/bookmarks/ on PC and rename your starred places whatever you like. In a few days or so the new names will be synced with google maps -> My Places on your phone and you will know what is what.
I was trying to start up a content transfer with someone else's phone. I used an HTC One and they had Samsung Galaxy S3s. It would show the touch to transfer screen and it would just open the playstore to an item which didn't exist. It doesn't matter what they tried to transfer.

From what I understand its just a frontend for NFC which the phone does have. All I've done is selected the content I wanted to move and tap phones..

Did you enable nfc in settings, mine wasn't cut on by default. I had to go and cut it on.

It wouldn't send me the little note to send off / receive without it on. Issue is, every time I receive something, it just shows up as a Google Play Link. When I try to send something, it just stops after I touch to beam.
I'm not sure what it is then, mines working fine(a little finnicky at times but fine).

My buddy has an S3 and I have the One, and in order for it to register I had to hold my phone about as low as his camera, but it worked like a charm. Then again, I sent him a few contacts and some pics for jokes.
Wife and I have GS3 and ONE, we send pics back and forth all the time.

You can NOT send playstore apks via NFC, it will always show a playstore link, this is to prevent sharing of paid apps.

No, not playstore apps or links. For example, friends on GS3 with gallery app opened to send a link. It just constantly wants to open a nonexistent item in the playstore. Sorry if I am unclear. I am thankful for all the help thus far.
Might have something to do with Samsung galaxy s phones. I can have my gallery open to a picture and nfc transfer it to a gnex and vice versa

Thanks. I think I actually figured it out. Anyone else wondering, anyone with Samsung phones transferring to the HTC One, the Samsung user needs to turn of their S Beam, because it tries to use the Samsung branded gallery app to transfer pictures.

So I've had my TMobile Note 3 since last week Thursday. Enjoying it so far, but theres a ton of bloatware. I use Nova Laucher and turn off/hide the bloatware apps that I don't use. Don't want to root.
My gripe is with the stock Gallery app. It's really slow, as far as how quickly the pics load when you open it. I'm used to the Gallery loading pics a lot faster. I used to use QuickPic when I had my Nexus S. But I noticed yesterday that QuickPic doesn't let you sync your Google+/Picasa albums to it's interface.
Any other suggestions for a replacement gallery app that is simple yet loads pics fast and can sync with Google+/Picasa pics (at least)?
Thanks in advance.
Try the beta cyanogenmod GalleryNext. Its pretty great
