An ode to old phones - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Was talking to someone else today about this. How long have you been carrying a wireless, also name some of you favorites from days gone by
I still have my Amp'd RAZR somewhere in a drawer, and can fondly remember getting my Helio Ocean in the mail lol. Helio was awesome, 60$ a month for unlimited everything and a slider phone :good: It's funny looking at the giant slab of a phone I carry now and remembering being psyched to find a cool face plate for my Nokia 5100....

Wow! Can't believe that someone mentioned Helio!
I worked for Helio and thought the Ocean was the coolest thing. After the ship started sinking I was laid off. My first phone after leaving Helio was the G1 for T-Mobile and I've been on Android since. I had some fond memories of those day. Times before phones needed cases to survive a drop...

Since 96. I had a Motorola Startac on MCI lol. Great phone though.

That's funny I know 2 other people who have gone from a Helio Ocean to a Samsung Moment to the Samsung Epic including me lol.
The Ocean was a cool phone! Before that I had a BlackBerry Bold Blackjack II Krazr or however it was spelled and a RAZR lol.

Hahah I did the same exact thing (minus the epic). Actually when Virgin finally killed Helio I sold my Ocean and Ocean 2 for a good bit of cash on eBay. So I went Ocean, Ocean 2, Palm Pre (which I returned after 2days) to the Samsung Moment. When the Evo 4g came out I switched to that, then the 3d. Had the SIII for all of a month and now I'm here ;D

I couldn't even tell you what my first phone was. It was a Nokia brick and I ran it on GTE Mobilnet. I was 18 and thought I was the shiznitt! Then I had another popular little Nokia on PacBell PCS. It was a 5100 or 6100 something like that. Thought I was cool cuz it had a Dolphin blue front face.
Then I didn't rock a phone for a few years. But I jumped on tmobile with a Motorola V66 I believe. After that it was Nextel, with an Motorola i5XX, Motorola i6XX, and then a BlackBerry 7100i.
Then I jumped to Sprint with a Motorola KRZR K1m. After that I got a HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Evo, HTC Evo 3D and now my GNII. I think that was it. Not too bad

Wow! Here goes....
First cell phone was early 1998 - under the AirTouch brand name since I was rocking a pager with them since 1996. Couldn't even tell you what the phone was - maybe a Nokia back then?
When they changed to Verizon they introduced a Samsung clamshell phone for $240 that I jumped on. Loved that phone. Moved off of Verizon to Sprint in 2001 and onto a Moto phone due to the size. Kept that until I went to Japan.
...and got shell shocked in 2002 how advanced their phones were! They had stuff in 2002-2003 that we didn't see here until the iPhone!
Streaming TV? Yup.
Customized ringtones? Used to take my MIDI files and use them! Same with MP3s, WAVs, etc.!
Memory Cards? MiniSD/MicroSD has been around since at least 2004.
Still have my Sony Ericcson clamshell phone with scrolling, color LED and memory card from 2003.
Come back in 2005 - go back to Big Red and a LG clamshell phone. Drop them in 2007 when KDDI Mobile comes up as an MVNO of Sprint.
Free calling to Japan was a BIG seller as it cut our cell phone bill instantly to 1/4-1/5 of what I used to pay!
2007-2009 - Sanyo Katana (SPH-6600)
2009-June 2011 - Sanyo Katana Eclipse (SPH-6750)
June 11 - Oct. 11 - Sanyo Zio. Almost ruined Android for me.
Oct 11 - Mar 12 - Optimus S. This is what saved Android.
Mar 12 - Present - Epic 4G Tough. My love and appreciation of Android really comes through this device.
Now on regular Sprint as of last month with the GN2. Most of the family uses Skype - and those that don't I'm hoping to have on it this year.

Back in 1995 I got a motorola flip phone on CellularOne. It was analog. Digitial was just starting to come out. After my contact ended, I didn't have a cellphone till 2001. I went with Nextel, now Sprint. It was some Motorola candy bar. After about four years, went with a Motorola flip; one of the military grade, can take a beating kind. That last about eight months before the inner display broke. I went the Blackberry on Nextel till end of it's contract. Went with a Evo 4G. Now, GN2. I still use the Evo 4G as a media device since mirroring works well, and HML and WiFi hotspot blows through the GN2 battery.

My first phone was in 97 which was a Motorola flip phone (small brick)
Then went smaller on Cingular
Stayed with them and only used my phone as a necessity until I moved back to virginia and switched to Verizon in which I got a small flip phone with big numbers and a green calculator like display.
I switched to t-mobile and got a high speed slider phone and was then hooked.
I got a side kick and guess that started my love of big phones.
I got a htc 6700 and then the 6800.
I switched to sprint and I got a samsung instinct and a year later the palm pre ( which was the first phone I ever rooted/hacked, again hooked)
I then got a htc evo then the htc evo 3d and now the note 2.
The funny thing is that I have been completely happy with all my phones and had no desire to upgrade, but some how I always end up with something new at least every 2 years. I also have 4 lines which always has a different phone on them so I get yo play with different ones. It also gives me 4 upgrades to use......lol

Close - you have me beat by a few years. Just remember I got it off of a guy at my first part time job (the obligatory fast food one) - clear green Motorola pager. Was paying $20 a month I think.
Was cool because I remember keeping the pager until I found out about SMS in late 99-00 I think. Was about the time that they introduced super slow but first-I-had-seen version of banking by cell phone.

If I listed every phone I've had in the last 15-16 years we'd be here all day so ill go with a few of my favorites
Sony with pull out mic boom (forget model but mid 90s)

One of my first cell phones was a Nextel i1000 and then I moved to an i90. That Push to Talk was really cool when you first were able to add people outside of your plan to your PTT list. Push to talk with my circle of friends was fun. Especially when they forgot to turn down the speaker in class. LOL

Here's some of my old phones.. Some of my other older phones I lost or gave away.. My first phone was with Verizon.. It's was something matte all black phone that had the battery on the front flip part..it was made by motarola.. That was some years ago
After that I had some virgin Mobile phone.. Was a kyoceria (I guess that's how u spell it lol) it was a slide up phone had the silver keys lol
The phone in the upper right corner in the screen shot was my phone before the the intercept on the bottom
And then the s2(mom has that phone now)

Who is or isn't returning their EVO?

I'm reading a lot of complaints about the EVO. But how many of you are returning it before the month is up.
As for me I had the HTC Mogul then the HTC Touch Pro2. Still love my Touch Pro2 but i'm going to sell it.
The EVO is the first android i ever had, the best phone i ever had. I'm keeping mine.
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using XDA App at 3:36am. Sorry for the miss spelled word
I plan on keeping mine, after I get a good unit lol
I am keeping mine too. I love my rooted EVO specially using the tether app
I'm probably gonna replace mine.
Screen separation and a stuck pixel.
Return? Never unless the 30fps issues arent resolved.
I'm loving it. I'm unrooted and still love it. I don't plan on rooting until theirs a much easier, less involved rooting method. Also depends on when FroYo is expected to come out. I'm patient.
being rooted im sure every issue that is out is going to be resolved with the devs we have at xda minus the screen seperation which im not one of the unlucky ones.. im loving this phone, before having this phone the one thing i wasnt too fond of was the size of this badboy after actually playing with it now the size is one of my favorite things about it.. never thought id be one to have such a huge phone but when im messing with my wife hero im like "no way, too small for me" to think i used to think she had a big phone.. funny how things change, but im hanging on to this and am actually getting my wife one as well... luvinit
I love my EVO but I am a little salty that we got 440MB of internal memory and the droid X has 8 GBs. There's no way I am paying Verizon's prices.
I am keeping my EVO 4G being that the only competition is the DroidX and well...I get verizon's network without Verizon's prices on my EVO.

im not returning mine, im happy with it, no screen separation issues, no light leaks, the dev's here rock and after this conference in a few weeks, i shall be devloping more and hopefully giving something back to this wonderful community.

I still don't get how HTC thinks supplying such paltry amounts in a flagship product paired with 2.1 is a wonderful fit. They also supplied the EVO with a 16-bit screen so cost criteria is always at play..
I wonder how HTC-OEMs will step up their game now that the iPhone 4 is out but I think just bringing 2.2 will help a lot in the interim.
No way! This phone has been amazing so far, no issues whatsoever
I'm actually thinking about returning mine for the X. The big choice was between sprint and vzw and vzw only seems about $10 more per month for a much nicer phone.
"Their" not "There"
sorry had to fix that.
and no i'm not returning my evo, I would if sprint was coming out with a better phone but since the droidx isn't sprint no thanks.
I'm keeping my evo, because something new and faster always comes along, except with sprint, I can upgrade every year vs every 2 with verizon. Have fun with your droid x when I have my evo 2 in hand next year
I'm considering it. Both the Droid X and the Epic 4g are looking better in some areas that matter to me. The big thing that may keep me with the Evo is the user community that HTC has. I understand that the Motorola and Samsung dev group is growing but it is nowhere near as big as XDA. And since I like tweaking and improving stuff, that's important to me.
edit: Oh, and please edit the title. The "there" instead of "their" is driving me crazy. If this was an international phone, I would excuse it, but it's not. We're all Americans here and we all should know the difference between those two words.
I love the EVO!! I do have the screen seperation issue, but on a list for a new one at the shack that they say I should have this weekend. Other then that I couldnt see my self using anything else!!!

posting this again since no one has seen it evidently, but:
I called VZW and on any voice plan $59 or more/month, you get 12 month phone upgrades. So this is no longer a selling point in sprint's favor (there are others anyway, but this was the big one for me).
I'm almost 100% sure I'm taking my evo back this weekend.
I'm keeping mine. It's been working great!

upgrading from evo 4g to???

ok so my evo 4g started having problems part of the screen went dead so i couldn't
tap numbers 4,5,6 and some letters also the usb port won't allow it to be charged anymore with the normal charger it came with i have to use my external drive usb cord to charge it on my pc
i shipped it to htc and i waited a week with no response so i call them to find out it has water damage and it be would be 300 to fix this wouldnt be a big deal if i had actually dropped it in water or ever laid it in something wet
i would had believed them more if they said it was dropped but water damage -_- i'm not going for that
so what new phones are coming out that are going to be better then the evo?
i have checked out the atrix 4g sgs2 and lg3d
wait for evo2
lmao evo2
if there is actually any evidence of a evo 2 link me to it and i would gladly wait
there is evidence of an evo 3d. first, an anonymous leak. then, go to now.sprint.com/evo3d and get linked to homepage. enter anything else after / and get 404 error. htc released evo at ctia, and thats next week. i'd wait.
yeah i will wait having phone shipped back
called them and tried to tell them it wasn't water damage -_- they wouldn't listen
so i got it shipped back >.> very excited to get another new phone though >.>
the evo3d better have monster specs
I am hoping the new HTC-Pyramid is the EVo2, or this phone is coming to Sprint.

If not I will be getting the Nexus-S 4G due out in April.
wowza it is rumored to be using 3.0 honeycomb :O glad you mentioned this phone to me
if any of you guys got any more recommendations please drop a message in here :O this will likely be my last upgrade for awhile so i wanna make a good choice
also doesnt the nexus s get alll upgrades before any other phone since it's googles flag ship phone >.>

It is supposed to, but the Nexus-One took like 2+ months before the official upgrade came out, while the Nexus-S was the sole 2.3 Gingerbread phone for a couple of months.
I am not too confident that the Nexus-S will be first in line to get the next big OS update. I see them coming out with a Nexus-3.0 first phone running "ice Cream" then later on down the road the Nexus-S will get that update, and then the Nexus-One.
I thought Google was going to do it differently ? If there is a "nexus" brand phone, it should get the newest OS right away, that was the whole point of the phone. But the Nexus-S came out with 2.3, and all the Nexus-One owners just kept waiting and waiting, for a few months. That was not cool.
i really enjoy my evo so if it were me, id replace it.
ctia next week should show us something that will prolly launch come summer time. possibly a wimax enabled nexus s if you like sammy mobile devices.
Did the litmus paper on the battery get wet? It should be pink.
ooohhh htc shooter sounds sexy maybe 3d?
sorry to dig up an old thread, but there's no point in making a new one. I've had random issues with my evo and want to upgrade, but i really like mine and the active community behind it. Any other phones have as many devs working on them like we do here? i'd really like to stick with HTC
I'm also thinking of upgrading...phone of choice after research seems to be the Galaxy S II...I just read the side by side comparison vs. the iphone 4s and the verizon droid and the S II gives the best of all worlds.

A bit taller and a bit thinner. The body itself is a bit thicker, but it has the same thickest point as the og evo because the cam doesn't stick out as much. This makes it feel better in the hand, more solid. Same weight I think.

Yeah, I'd disagree with that... T-Mobile has been waaaaay better in regards to Sprint in my area at least. I tether my Sprint iPhone to my T-Mobile Android phone when I want good speeds, lol!

This is the only rumor I know saying sprint will get new windows phone.
Sprint is so busy trying to hang from the ball sack of the iPhone; for some reason they went the route of Verizon with promoting their Android phones and now iPhone, like Verizon they only have one Windows Phone and don't promote it much. WTF is next? Sprint will start trying to ditch Windows Phone?
Tmobile may work good in your area. But where i olive its terrible and many other people in my area agree. But it has to be the worst cell phone provider in my area that I've experience.

Yeah I'm really hoping Sprint gets a new windows phone.Hopefully it wont just be one with 1GHZ Process(like the radar) and will be 1.4ghz or 1.5ghz.
I've been sitting on a upgrade since April of 2011. All I want is either a 4" plus Samsung or HTC phone and I will sign a new contract on the first day.
Somehow, I got got the itchy feeling that more than one new Windows Phones are coming to Sprint.
I would not sleep on the Arrive if you can pick one up for a good price like I did on EBay. I am one that started with the first iPhone when it came out and eventually made my to Android and swore by it ever since. I currently have the Motorola Photon 4G but was really interested in taking a Windows 7 phone for a spin so I picked up the Arrive. Man the Arrive is faster than my Photon. Now yes I do not get 4G with the Arrive but I can barely get 4G anyway. These Mango phones are awesome. It also came down to since someone brought up age that I really needed workwise to stop dicking around with gaming ability and the number of apps available (I can use my Asus TF for that ) and look at smartphone functionality. If your in business like myself the Windows phone is the way to go and the HTC Arrive is a damn good phone for now. You can find them off contract for great prices to get you by until the new hardware hits the street.
I love my Arrive so much that I picked up one for my girlfriend for a penny during the holiday sales and got a cheap used one from eBay with a bad ESN so my daughter could use it as an over-glorified Zune. With that being said, I wouldn't hesitate to upgrade if a newer unit was released with a larger screen and more storage. I could care less about processor speed since WP7 seems to run equally well on all current hardware.

I have the arrive as well, I love the phone other than a few bugs that it has.
I really want something thinner, with a bigger screen and no keyboard. The on screen keyboard works great.

Before Your Epic 4G Touch & Where you're Headed?

So all of us here are using The epic 4g touch. I was just curious and thought it would be interesting for everyone to state what phone they came from..how they ended up with this phone. And you're future with this phone (keeping it, upgrading, etc) ..please don't say "I'm leaving this phone because it sucks, something is wrong with it, etc) this is just a light friendly topic
And if something is wrong with this thread ..the mods can feel free to remove it..I mean no harm at all
I'll start:
Well I came from the Samsung intercept from Virgin mobile ..had that phone for a while...actually that was my real first smart phone ..I never been a big phone person until I hit xda...anyway me and that phone didn't get along at all lol, so last December (haven't had this phone that long) I was randomly walking past the Sprint store and decided to look at phones..didn't want an iPhone.. so I got the best phone in the store which was this (best decision ever)
My future with this phone, I love it and was going to give my mom this phone since she loves it over her iPhone and get myself a note 2...which will be great because this epic 4g community is awsome and taught me a lot
-TeaM VeNuM Like A Boss
I had the Kyocera Zio from cricket and because my battery was getting to be terrible and did not last any more than 4 hours I decided it was time for an upgrade.
Cricket did not have anything that I was interested in at the time and since I was working for AT&T doing technical support for U-Verse, I was trying to get the Skyrocket, AT&T wanted a crazy deposit even though I was an employee... I walked over to a Sprint kiosk, and told them I wanted the Galaxy S II, they tried selling me an iPhone and I said no, I want the S2. There was a $0 deposit, so I jumped on the deal.

I came from an Evo 3D which didn't suit me very well because of the lack of updates at the time. Plus the 3D was useless if no one else I knew had it. I played around with an epic 4g touch. Instantly I fell in love with the design and camera, regardless of the LOS fear 3D users used to keep people from jumping. Now my future is that I'm jumping over to a Galaxy nexus but still keeping up with the E4GT since my brother and friends own it.
I also came from the samsung intercept, which was also my first real smart phone. That thing never had anything good for me. Before that I had a rant and a rumor, both which were also terrible phones. I only got this phone June 1st of this year because that's when my contract was finally up and my parents made me buy my own phone. (I'm only 18) I was looking at the phones at sprint months before my upgrade, and reading up on the ones I liked. I finally decided on this because one it just looks amazing, two all the reviews were good and three I figured it would be a good entry level phone for myself. I couldn't be any happier!

HTC Evo until the sprint software upgrade turned it into a turd. I was due for an upgrade, so I got the E4GT. Worked great on GB for a few months until we got OTA to ICS. After *****ing to sprint and Samsung, I saw a post on AC about rolling back to GB. I did that and stayed on GB for about a month, and then started experimenting with other rooms. Once I found this place, I rarely go anywhere else. Although I'm a newbie, everyone seems cool here .

I also came from the samsung intercept, which was also my first real smart phone. That thing never had anything good for me. Before that I had a rant and a rumor, both which were also terrible phones. Yes it was one hell of an upgrade from that horrid thing! I actually would like to thank Sprint, or whoever for the ****ty ota update to ICS. If it wasn't for that I would never have ventured into root and custom ROM land. I'm happy I did though, I've been missing out on a lot!

Before this I had the og epic 4g, and ive been loving it.
Next I don't know where I'll be going maybe the optimus g note too, or the j butterfly if it comes to sprint, but I'd prefer a Samsung.

Had a Evo 3D, then got the E4GT thanks to Asurion as they gave me a brand new one as a replacement for my 3D, & as of a week ago I've sold my E4GT & used my upgrade to get a GNex, but I'm not really sure yet if I'm gonna keep this or not as I have until the 29th to be able to return it & that's also the same day that Google will announce the new Nexus, but if its the same as we've been reading with only 8 & 16GB models then I'm definitely keeping my GNex.

I had a blackberry tour and I have to say that it was great but battery was in a way awful. I went to sprint after my contract with the mentality (95%) of getting an iPhone but i saw a phone with a huge display and awsome colors. My metality dropped by about 50% in about 2 minutes. Make long story short, ended up leaving with an epic 4g touch:thumbup:. I will be upgrading to the galaxy s4 whenever it comes out. Hopefully it comes out before i can upgrade in June next year. Note 2 just looks to big for a phone and I like to use my phone in one hand. Easier to swype on tapatalk. I will stick with any Galaxy forever and ever and ever. I have had a great experience.

Came from the evo 4g only reason I got the epic 4g touch was because I messed up and lost my wimax keys with so much flashing I did and never had a nandroid so I was stuck on 3g and couldn't take it no more so brought a e4gt off Craigslist lol. My upgrade been up since June and after checking out the battery stats post in the note 2 forum I'm thinking on jumping on that beast lol 8-10hrs screen on is insane lol.
BTW Miguel I seen you lurking in the note 2 thread

I came from the HTC EVO 4G. I loved that phone and would have kept it longer if I didn't drop it and shatter the screen at work. I had my upgrade waiting for the EVO LTE but then I seen Apple (the Devil) cause it to get held up in customs and I needed a new phone quick.
I went to Best Buy (no need for rebates) to get the Galaxy Nexus for Sprint but they didn't carry it for Sprint. I seen they had the Epic 4G Touch for $100 so I jumped on it!
My nest device will be another HTC, can't wait to see what they come up with in 2 years lol. Although buy that time I'm sure Samsung will have the Galaxy S V.
So I guess I just have to wait til my upgrade and see whats out by then. Tech changes so much in such a short time.

Had a couple of decent LG phones with verizon(chocolate and voyager LULZ) before getting my first real smartphone. The Huawei Ascend from MetroPCS. That was short lived due to how laggy it was. If I had seconds to live and a call to make...well, I would've died lol
I do take my E4GT for granted looking back..my future with this phone is an upgrade if the next nexus rumors hold true. Not due for an upgrade till June though.

Back with Samsung after 2 years with HTC

After two years with my EVO 4G (OG) it was starting to have some hiccups here and there. Mostly because of the power surges that came into my house and fried out 11 250 joule surge protectors, an LED TV, 2 FiOS STB's, the FiOS D-Mark, and a microwave. Charging my phone during the last strike from my local electric company had caused it to start running strangely. Or at least that is my theory.
Well, I decided I needed a new phone. I was lucky enough that I was due for an upgrade, so off to Best Buy I went. I was seriously toying with the idea of getting an SG3. My brother in law has one, as well as my wife's cousins. I thought it was a great phone and light years ahead of the EVO. Don't get me wrong, my EVO has served me phenomenally, but I wanted something nicer. I have 2 Epic 4Gs in my house, wife and son, plus I have had the Fascinate, the Moment and the Transform, so I know Samsung makes some great devices.
I walk into the Mobile center in Best Buy and gravitate towards the Sprint table and started looking at the SG3. There was nothing that really jumped out at me and there were no more HTC phones in the lineup. Sad, but never a deal breaker. Then I see it, the Galaxy Note II. I pick it up and it feels very comfortable in my hand. I am a big guy so I feel like an iPhone get's lost in my hand and this was the Goldilocks phone. Now for the moment of truth. Do they have the Titanium in stock? My EVO is white and so is my iPhone. The Note in white was just too much white. And not the cool Stormtrooper white with black accents like my EVO has, but pure stark white. That wouldn't do. The sales person approached and asked me if I needed help. I told him I wanted the GN2 in Titanium and he gave me an ashen look. He mentioned that they were on national back order, but he would look anyway. Lo and behold, he pulls out, according to him, the last Titanium GN2 in the country.
Everything goes swimmingly. They have the phone advertised for $299 for an upgrade, but I had seen it in Radio Shack for $199. I never thought to take a picture of the ad before I went to BB, but oh well. I told the new salesperson that was helping I would come back to get the $100 credit. She said she had a lot of luck beating Amazon Wireless' prices. She pulled up the site and I was able to get the Note for $199. Score! She got me up and activated in about 10 mins and I was out the door with my new toy.
Now, I swore to myself that I would test drive it for a week or two before rooting at and throwing a custom ROM. Too bad that lasted about 5 mins. I was able to root it even after doing the MA7 update. I am currently a lab rat because I actually like the stock TouchWiz. That may change but for the moment I like the Team Nocturnal ROM (great job guys!!) Battery life on this is insane!!! I charged it to full last night and took it off at about 10PM. I use it as a white noise generator and forgot to set the sleep timer, so it was going from midnight until I woke up at 7AM and I still had 90% battery. Awesome!!
I will probably spend most of my work day playing and tweaking it.

Same boat here, DIE HARD EVO OG supporter. Phone still rocks, although requires some tweaking. I'm on my way to Sprint store this afternoon. What method did you use for root?
thats one hell of a post just to say you got a note 2. i think that everyone should do that. it would make the forums a super great place to get info about who has the note 2. i think we should just give up on developing and just announce ourselves. to me it just seems like a better use of bandwidth. i dont know. i wish i could just read welcome posts all day. :veryfun: :sarcasm:
Welcome to the team  I come from all three generations of the evo. Its so nice to be able to root your phone without all the hastle. I wouldn't go back to htc even after seeing the htc one. Also, Samsung and Sprint have been doing an awesome job of upgrading their phones. I'll be waiting on the Note 3.

I used MSKip's Galaxy Note II Toolkit Ver. 3.0. It was super-easy. It will still root even if you updated to 4.1.2 (MA7) I was rooted in under 5 minutes. (Excellent job MSKip!! :good: )

I got all 3 generations of Evos sitting on my desk right now too. I am not going back to HTC after buying the Note 2. Samsung just does the software so much better. Like why on my evo with 16gb of internal storage do I have to move my apps between a 2gb app partition and a 8gb internal partition

I also cone from a evo 4g. As a matter of fact, I bought the 3d for my wife and another 4g for my mom to use. Same deal here, 4g just want cutting it anymore and the note had been out for a little bit on sprint. So I got it and it's crazy impressive. The weight and the feel of it at first compared to htc devices wad misleading at first, but a good case and some time with it had made me a fan of Samsung.
My buddy at work has the htc dna and it feels like you could beat someone with it, but that's pretty much where the advantages end. This is the way to go. Fast, responsive, uses a stylus like the good old Palm days, and the battery life is amazing.
I've been with htc since the mogul days and have been a big fan of theirs, but always had to buy the extended batteries. I think the stock battery will do for this phone.
Samsung note ii
I also came from HTC. The HTC Desire HD. It was a great device.
You've got to love the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 though. :good:
An ex evo user myself. Welcome to the club....you made the right choice

Liked my Evo 3D for 2 years. Loving the Note II for 3 months! :highfive:
I had the og evo and the 3vo and after the locked bootloader BS and htcs backpedaling on opening up to development, I abandoned them and boycotted them. I won't buy any more HTC products, especially after them threatening lawsuits for ppl hosting RUUs and modified sense roms. They have become too applesque for my taste. Samsung has been good about ease of access for development (unlocked bootloaders and easy to root, just implemented a simple custom flash counter) and releasing source almost at the same time an OTA starts being pushed.
I like to break stuff!
I too have come from using all htc phones (mogul, tp2, and evo4g) and I must say this is one heck if a phone. Love everything about it. The battery lasts me as long as the batteries from all my htc phones combined. Everyonw that I have showed it too have been amazed by it..
Cant get enough of this phone
Also a ex evolte user made the jump the days ago this phone is off the chain I honestly feel like I may go my entire contact with this one!
