[Q] remapping mouse buttons - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

my end goal is to remap the right click as the back.
Is there a kl file for the mouse and if so where would it be located?
i found the mapping files for joysticks and keyboards in system/usr/keylayout but non of them pertain to a mouse.

can touchpad be modable to mouse cursor pointer???any mod?

yes answers please...
yes...?
no! I don't think so because you have a touch screen ... its there for a reason, so you can use you finger as "a cursor pointer"
Its not impossible for a cursor hack to be coded but I don't think anyone will make one just because its as useless as it seams.
Just an example of where you could need a cursor --> adverputt.com (awesome flashgame) Furthermore you cant "hover" with your finger, just scroll and select things. Some webpages just require to move a mousepointer over an item to highlight things/mark items and so on.
windows had that so why not android its supposed to be better
Or if you want to use megavideo with froyo....it would add more usability. Im getting mad to raise volume Or click on certain timecode of video.
I agree that there are occasions where where using the track pad as a cursor would be better as touch isn't always as accurate as it needs to be.

so, no one interested? i mean in user approach. if so, please post to let people know...it has been readed by 354 till now...
people were able to enable mouse cursor pointer with a bluetooth mouse on the N1 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711268
maybe that could be possible with a touchpad ? any idea ?
(I am interested because I may buy a Desire Z [tmobile g2] soon and I think keyboard + touchpad with mouse cursor pointer might be interesting)

[Q] How do I enable the mouse pointer in CM7-GX4(EX+4G)

I just installed:
[ROM]CM7-GX4(EX+4G) | Updated 2-7-11 | New G's!!!! with SAVAGE Kernal
I hooked up my Microsoft Notebook 5000 bluetooth mouse and it connects. I can control the screen by moving up, down, left and right but I dont see a mouse pointer. do I need to enable it somewhere?
Thanks
I dont think you can get a mouse pointer in android.

Yes you can. But the mouse pointer support has not been added into CM7.
It was fully functional in CM6.1 and I'm confident it will be added into CM7 as well.
really I was under the assumption that android was built as a tablature os thus not supporting a mouse pointer I guess you learn something new everyday. So cm6.1 supports a mouse pointer?? I'll have to try it.
I'm in the same boat as OP... Ms bt 5000 mouse and keyboard....cm7 nightly 17 post rc2...no cursor or mouse pointer but instead mouse movements move from field to field...unusable....believe cursor was working great in 6.1.2 .... interestingly under remote desktop mouse works great (except for scroll button or right button) but yeah...there's a cursor... keyboard works great too...as does HDMI mirror... only thing is hid doesn't account for rotation of screen....mouse n KB think still in portrait mode...

[Q] Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse

Hi,
Has anyone used a bluetooth keyboard/mouse with the SGS2?
If so, what was your experience and which devices did you use?
It would be nice to have a list of devices that are AVAILABLE and play nice with the SGS2 so we don't all end up buying 5 keyboards trying to find a decent one.
This is obviously a precursor to the MHL cable dropping and being able to navigate the device over MHL Mirroring.
Cheers!
Check the end of my video here, BT keyboard and mouse working fine:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giJXF5pIITc
The keyboard I'm using is the iGo Stowaway Ultraslim Keyboard, sadly not made any more. Nearly any BT HID Profile device should work with the SGSII.
For starters I would guess that all the ones in this -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=799079&highlight=bluetooth+keyboard+mouse
- thread for the SGSI will work fine.
Ah cool cheers, i do remember you saying that your keyboard was no longer available sadly.
I was thinking something like this would be great to just kick back and use as a media controller....

I'll take a look through that thread, thanks for that.

anyone can check if it work? or advise similar mini keyboards which would work on our device..
I have the same question... did a bit of research and found the following:
Foldable freecom model, 54 quids. Reviews indicate it's decent, has a little tray to hold the phone but it's also 'cheaply built':
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freedom-BTF...1_6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1306668294&sr=1-6
The official Apple wireless keyboard. Great build, but not foldable. 50 quids
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-MC184B-A-Wireless-Keyboard/dp/B002TUSWU4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
A clone of the above, 22 quids.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-W...1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1306669505&sr=1-3
I'm not seeing any 'great' options here... can someone suggest anything else?
I have this keyboard:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freedom-Pro...IWJ6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306675360&sr=1-1
It works fine, save for the buttons that are specific to certain OS. It's not my favorite keyboard, tho.
I just purchased this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Folding-Bluetoo...66?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item53e6f9a18a
I have one from about 10 years ago that was made for a Handspring PDA and it was hands-down the best portable keyboard I've ever used, so I'm hoping this one will be just as good. I also have a Jorno keyboard on order, but there's no ETA on its release yet.
I've also used a Bluetooth mouse with the phone, and it also works fine. Mine's the Razer Orochi.
Logitech dinovo mini works well...
(only complaint is that the keyboard layout is scandinavian/swedish) and the phone gets the default english letters. Probably just have to change key mapping but have not gotten around to that yet)

Does anybody know how to use a different keyboard layout than US/GB?
I have a German version of this keyboard.
Same with me.
My keyboard finally arrived, and it's pretty good. Seems it may have a defect (it's typing some double letters on some keys, R and Space especially), but other than that, it's pretty much an exact replica of the one I used to have, and it feels great. I highly recommend it.

I bought this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Foldable-Mini...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0a6436b5#shId
it's a clone of the one TJ mentioned.
Oh sure it's an interesting concept, and it's a full size keyboard, the problem is
IT DOESN'T WORK!!!
Seller doesn't seem to care.
So between thsi and TJ's case I woudl recommend staying away from these
Has any body tried this "Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad and Laser Pointer" with the S2? it looks great for sofa surfing with the hdmi MHL adaptor.
I am not allowed to post any links yet so please Google for
Rii Mini Bluetooth KeyBoard Review! - Touchpad Mouse
I would be grateful if some could could confirm that they have got it working and what they think of this device?
And do all the buttons work OK e.g. media volume and cursor buttons and touch pad?
Thanks
Louis

I've sent mine back for a replacement. It's a very cheaply-made product. The original is built far better... it actually says on the back "designed by Think Outside Inc., Carlsbad, CA USA."
Hello!
I tested a Nokia SU-8W bluetooth keyboard, it comes with a Nokia N8.
Works well, no pairing issues, very clean to do it .
I don't know how to do with the keyboard the same actions as "option" or "home" buttons . At least, Esc key works as back button.
I miss to have a bluetooth mouse at the same time... is a needed partner for this keyboard.

On the couple of Bluetooth keyboards I've been using, these combinations worked:
Fn+left arrow: Home
Fn+right arrow: Sleep
Fn+1: Option/menu
Fn+(hold) left arrow: Recent
Fn+(tap x2) left arrow: Voice Talk
Been playing with other combinations, but those are all the ones I've been able to find so far.

Actually, I am interested in remapping keys. I have a Palm 3245WW bluetooth keyboard and I sometimes have to write in Greek, which involves using some accents (for intonation). The on-screen keyboard will give me these accents if I long press on the keys of the stock Greek layout, but I haven't figured out how to do this with the bluetooth keyboard. Any help would be appreciated.
Saverios

what is the keylayout?

exploring the rom i see that in /system/usr/keylayout there are some file: 1 is the qwerty, the other are like Sony_PLAYSTATION_R_3_Controller.gl or Xbox_360_Wireless_Receiver.gl
and inside there is a list of the key (A,B,X,Y,START,BACK...) and the relative mapping.
what are they? for what they can be used?
it's possible to connect an xbox pad for use the phone?
I found them too....man.....but I don't know how you can use them....(sorry for my english)

See the documentation here:
http://source.android.com/tech/input/key-layout-files.html
They essentially configure the functionality of hardware buttons on your device (on the Arc you will not have many, but on the Pro we have a lot! ). They also configure the functionality of hardware buttons on any peripheral device, such as gamepads (and yes, you can connect an xbox pad and use it with an adaptor through your microUSB port, or with USB hub, or Sony Ericsson's "LiveDock" accessory).

BlueTooth Mouse

I tried a Bluetooth Mouse and wow works great under IceCream Sandwich.
The mouse appears and you can click and right click opens the menu button.
I found this post from another topic that someone posted useful because our GLide works the same way. Look at his mouse pointer in his provided screen shot same thing I am seeing:

Wow didn't even know this was supported so well. Pairing up brings up a mouse pointer until the connection is lost.
LMB obviously simulates touch.
RMB is the back hotkey
MB3 is the menu hotkey (top right icon)
Scroll up-down traverses open menus. LMB to select. Will scroll in the browser and system wide such as in polaris office.
Full movement as expected from desktop OSs.
