Hello everyone!
I have few questions. First of all I wanted to flash back to stock ROM, my CID is HTC__622 but I can't find my stock ROM ANYWHERE. I downloaded ruu from some chinese website, but I can't extract anything from rom.zip... So first question is, does anyone know where I can find the stock ruu for 3.14.708.28?
Second question is, can I flash 3.14.709.20 or does it HAVE to be x.xx.708.xx?
Thanks in advance guys .

Here you can download a stock nandroid backup ! Just restore that one. CID & Version matches.
And no you can not restore the 709

Hi all,
I was on stock 1.26 then unlocked rooted and installed CWM.
I made a backup with cwm, and then installed CM9. I'm going to return my One X and want to restore the backup. My question now is, do I need and boot.img first before I can restore my backup? During the backup process CWM said 'backing up boot image..' So will it restore it as well?
Thanks in advance....

No just restore your backup, flash stock recovery and then re-lock bootloader.
Help (if anyone can)
Hi, noob here (registration wise) been lurking for a year of so now.
First up I want to say I am not totally new to everything, I have rooted, flashed all sorts of roms etc on other models but my issue is with returning to stock on an HTC One X. I am hoping either someone can help me or at least tell me no one can at the moment.
I have done a number of searches and tried various things none of which have worked I am currently romless (no os installed when checked last on twrp) however since then I have also tried flashing a rom.zip so no longer have twrp at the moment but hopefully can still install it as I can get into fastboot.
My device is on Voda UK so currently it doesnt have an ruu that I can find the only thing I found was this a 3.14.161.27 rom zip which I tried flashing but while it flashed it just stays on the htc screen (it seems quite small and didnt have a system image in so wasnt sure if it was even complete)
My question is can I do anything with a nandroid backup if I can find one to get a uk stock even if its not Vodafone (or does it have to be Voda) if so can anyone point me to a dl? if not can anyone suggest anything to try or am I going to have to try and flash a custom rom again and not be on stock until a ruu is made if one is.
Thanks in advance for any guidance

Hi,
Version-main is 3.14.161.27 (that zip i tried earlier was meant to be the latest files) cid is vodap001
Oke so the zip is a nandroid backup ? Of so, you need to unpack it !
Check here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
It has your nandroid backup, in the OP you also get a description where to put it on the sdcard !
With the recovery i sent you, you can mount the sdcard as a mass storage device and copy it over

so does it not matter that the version number of a nandroid backup is lower than my version main? (sorry for the question this nandroid backups are the one part of this side of thing I am not familiar with)
No that's not the issue, but the thread has your exact main version nandroid !

ok thanks I just looked at the initial post and saw vodap001 was lower than my version (hence why my question) but then searched the thread and saw the vodap102 can be used on mine and that is the same version.
Yes it should be compatible......but you can also restore a lower matching version and restore the stock recovery afterwards and update to JB again !
If you want to be 100% sure it works , go for option 2 .... Restore the lower one and update again

Hello all.
I need help on how to go about to restoring the stock rom of the HTC One X Tegra 3 (bought in Singapore). The problem is, I accidentally deleted the Nandroid backup of the original rom after installing "cm-10-20120919-NIGHTLY-endeavoru.zip". I'm planning to get the official JB update over OTA.
Did a fastboot getvar version-main and it showed the version-main as: 2.17.707.3, So, which "RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_hTC_Asia_WWE" should I get?. And, since I'm using a Mac running Mountain Lion, how do I go about extracting the RUU as it's .exe?. If it's impossible to restore the stock rom using a Mac, then how do I go about restoring the stock rom with WinXP?.
Any other files that I need to download other than the RUU?.
Apologies if this question had been asked previously in the forum. But I just can't find any. And I'm still a noob about installing roms and thus that mistake of not doing the Nandroid backup. So, try not to ridicule me too much.
And thus, to cut it short, what's the step by step procedure to install the HOX Tegra 3 stock rom without the Nandroid backup on a Mac )preferably and if possible) or with WinXP. Thank you for the time to read and for any help rendered to this noob.

Thank you sir!.
Just 'gonna put this out here, for anyone else viewing this thread...
ALWAYS CREATE A NANDROID BACK UP! It saves a lot of stress, for you, and for people answering the same questions, over and over. When a tutorial suggests you do something - just go ahead and do it, it's worth it.
IF there is an RUU available for your handset a Nandroid is not required IMO - just my 2p...

Thank you for the comment. I couldn't agree more with you. And I do apologize for asking the very question of this post which I'm sure have been answered countless times previously. Just that I can't get the answer I was looking for or maybe I was quite confused with the treasure trove of information.
And let me reiterate to those who are planning to install a Custom ROM to their Android phones..., please, please, please do a Nandroid backup before flashing your phone to the Custom ROM of your choice. It WILL save you a lot of frustration. It was my mistake for deleting the Nandroid backup. A hard lesson learnt.

But having a Nandroid backup is much more better option to restore the Stock ROM. Well, that's what I think. I'm still a greenhorn about installing Custom ROM and such. And only having a Mac machine at home just makes it a bit more tricky. But that's just me the greenhorn. Anyway, thanks for commenting.

CASE CLOSED !
Hey,
i was using AndroidRevolution HD 9.7.2 (ICS), for warranty purposes I have to get back to stock now. It's my friends device and it had no nandroid of the stock rom, so i wanted to revert it trough the original RUU. Unfortunately I used the wrong RUU and now i'm stuck in fastboot with locked bootloader. I picked the wrong RUU because I didn't found a matching one, so i used the HTC_Europe_1.29.401.12 ICS RUU.
Htcdev.com is down, so the only way to get it back to stock is through the original RUU, but I don't know which i have to use, can someone help me pls?
Version:
1.29.65.11
CID:
ORANG216
Are you sure your version number is right ? Never seen that number around !
Did you do
Fastboot getvar version-main
I have seen the orange *.**.069 and the 61 but never the 65 !
hi,
yes i used the correct fastboot command.
The version is correct, it's the Orange_Switzerland number: x.xx.65.x, the number is also listed in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660807
Ah yes you are very right sir, but nonetheless i don't see a ruu for you anywhere .... Maybe your firmware is listed in the collection thread. I check for you now !
Yes its there for you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
Its the firmware package that will lift your hboot to 1.36. After that you can flash any rom you want !
Edit : sorry you want to go to stock for warranty !
---------- Post added at 07:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:18 PM ----------
The only thing i can think of to get you back to stock is like this !
First you flash the firmware to get the hboot to 1.36, then you go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
You download the 2.17 nandroid backup orange 001 ! Restore it completely and flash back the 2.17 stock recovery ..... Then you reboot the phone and go into softwareupdates and check manually for the JB OTA. And install it !
Snap! I forgot to check that thread, thanks a lot. After installing the firmware package, can I install the HTC_Europe JB RUU?
No never.....do as i described in the post above .... that's the only option you have now that i know of !
So flash the CORRECT firmware then you restore the 2.17.65 nandroid backup ! Yes the 2.17 one !!! Then you update to stock JB from orange from within the phones update menu !
hey,
since I had a locked bootloader i couldn't enter the recovery to flash the backup. Today htcdev.com came back online, so I unlocked the bootloader again. Now i wanted to flash the stock_nandroid but there's an 404 error on the 2.17 version. Isn't there a way to go back to stock through a RUU?
You are going to be 1 lucky bastard mate !!! I found a link on the 2.17.65 ruu ! It should work ....link is coming
Ow wait one thing ! Did you update the hboot already ???

CRAP ! now you need the nandroid backup
now you have to wait on the reply matt is getting in the collection thread
But you can flash any JB rom out here now.....so at least that's something
Something had to go wrong
Well, i contacted matt95 from the Nandroid_Backup collection thread and he contacted the uploader.
I hope it will soon be online again. :good:
So the only way now, would be with the JB Orange x.xx.64.x RUU?
Isn't there a way of downgrading the hboot back to 0.95?
no unfortunately not.....sorry mate, and yeah i saw your reply already in the collection thread. it will work out you know....just some more extra patience
Thank you for the help and the quick responses! :good:

might have been a good idea to mention that in your first post then maybe people wouldn't be wasting time trying to find the wrong solution. try and flash the older one then if it doesn't work just re-flash the newer one
Use any 3.20.401 backup. Best is to take a 3.20.401.1 and restore that including the 3.14 stock recovery (yes the 3.14)
Then ota again to 3.20.401.3 to pull the cid right. Then you are back on full stock !
I don't understand you can how to include 3.14?
The stock recovery did not change ! That's why the 3.14
