hey all
Currently I use GO Launcher on my ARC and I love it
Are there any better ones out there?
I do not want to go through too much rigmorol and palahva so the easier and simpler to install the better
Cheers
AW: Launchers, ROMS etc etc
Tiles launcher beta, looks awesome and is made by a XDA member!

If your on a JB rom there is a touchwiz launcher. all you need to do is flash it, works wonderfully
My favorite, the Sony stock launcher

I would like to know everyone's opinion of the best MIUI ROM and why. I want to try one out but there are so many different kinds.

I've been happily using the MIUI.us release for a while.
MIUI is a Chinese ROM, the other ones are just translated versions of the same ROM with some minor changes. In ROM Manager, there's the original Chinese MIUI, MIUI.us, MIUI Android, and MIUI-PT.
MIUI.us is the most popular of the 3, haven't used MIUI-PT, but I'd assume it's not much different.
Not really much of a difference. There are a few that remove a few apps and such, but as far as settings and such I don't see much of a difference

Seriously that whole miui debacle is a mess. I don't even THINK of trying it because there are 13425 of them to pick from and barely any documentation on what makes them different! But honestly if i was gonna try it, it would be the official miui usa release. Or better yet i might just go buy an iphone
Meh.
I'd go with the MIUI.us version off of their site. Most frequently updated, less buggy, smooth, negligible speed difference between it and the other "optimized" versions of ROM Manager. Like mentioned above, some just add or remove some apps and other minor stuff. MIUI.us is the official "unofficial" MIUI translation, as mentioned on the chinese MIUI site.
It really doesn't matter which one you flash. Once you've installed the Simpson's theme, it's all money
Yeah just install MIUI.us through ROM Manager (The version on ROM Manager is up to date). It has the best english translation, and its the most used by far.
And I must say, MIUI is a very nice ROM, by far the most user-friendly. It has a somewhat iPhone-like UI, but much nicer looking. It's heavily customizable, but I'm quite fond of the defautl theme that's pre-installed with the latest MIUI.us
I personally prefer Cyanogenmod myself, but if I was going to choose a phone for a non-power user, it would be an Android phone, and I would install MIUI on it.
Thanks for all your replies. I understand there is no app drawer in MIUI if I'm not mistaken. I would like to know if there is a way to put this in the rom. Or an app that can do this or something similar because for me I need it to be organized. Thanks for your help in advance.

You can use any of the many different launchers that are available. My favourite is launcher pro. Or you could use adw, go launcher, stock gingerbread. Take you pick

This. If you want Tmo app drawerish and launcher, you could push Launcher2. I did that for awhile (break from cyanawesome)

MIUI.us Official with LauncherPRO will give you the best experience. I personally like the UI of MIUI and I don't miss the app drawer too much. It just takes a little getting used to. Plus, having 9 homescreens is pretty cool =p
Yeah, the default launcher with MIUI is more like the iphone launcher. All your app icons are on the many home screens. However you can easily install any other launcher, my favorite is Go Launcher.

I was wondering the whole 4 different versions of MIUI from Rom manager myself. I NEVER flash roms from Rom manager, only from recovery but I do download from Rom manager occasionally. I have been using MIUI.us WITH launcher pro. I LOVE the rom, but do not like the iphone launcher. An app drawer is a must for me, and I use too many widgets to use the default iphone launcher. I know you can use widgets on the default launcher but it's a lot easier with launcher pro to just long press and add them. I'm a big fan of Sense, have always stuck with it over CM7 (except on my Nook of course) but I figured I needed a change. So far MIUI is the most stable ROM I've EVER used outside of the stock rom (which isn't always stable......ask any VZW BB Tour owner when OS 5 was "officially" released).
Point is MIUI is a really great ROM. Many criticize it because it looks like an iphone at first, but with a new launcher, it's surely pure android. Enjoy.
you should just try one and see for urself... one thing i love about MIUI is how easy it is to customize the themes and the variety of themes available directly on the phone... not like CM where u have to find the theme in the forum or market... definatly give it a try
Hey Guys,
I'd like to know if there is a launcher that is customizable, smooth, and good with battery life on the One V. Please don't say Go Launcher EX.
Thanks in advance,

Try these too!
Try Apex Launcher or LauncherPro (the one I recommend)..
Hey I like HTC Sense 4! Why do you want a launcher?
I use no launchers and use it with lowest brightness (only when I'm out under the Sun, I increase it) and also disable many apps (bloatware)..
My battery life is too good!!

Optimus UI 3.0 or Motorola UI. They are both great launchers and available on XDA

If you were using TouchWiz or Motoblur, I would recommend you something like Launcher PRO, but IMO i feel that Sense 4 is already so efficient I find no need for a 3rd party launcher....
Sense 4 has everything, it's fast, stable, has many options, and is overall RAM efficient as well, and not to mention damn sexy

For the ics feel, I suggest nova or apex.
For customizing go Launcher and atom launcher are pretty good.
Definitely Apex! A lot more responsive I find.
there is no "best" launcher, like there's no "best" rom.....try a load out and see what fits your needs best

I need only one home screen and i can manage all my apps quite brilliant
apex
Thanks glusher for your prompt response but i would like an app, a twich, not a loader, any other suggestions?

WOW.
all look epic.
thank u for dis and dis and dis.
Will probably use smart launcher pro, xplay optimized and light and Unique.
Xperia Home. It's in the theme section somewhere. But, it's lightweight, built for our phones, works on ICS, and fast!

My fellow dinc2 community just want to share this leaked Xperia Z launcher. Pretty sure it'll work on this device as it works on the incS and much older devices. Have not tried it on this device but on my s3 runs smooth love Sony ui and launcher.

Actually i did it,but this is kind of old - i think the newest roms will be better and more stable. I can be wrong, but i dont like to have old software on my phone
For now i am using Xplaystation GB v2 and.. Looks good, smooth UI,good performance,no bugs for now. But one thing makes me mad - the lock screen. Is there any addon to change lockscreen for looks like JB/ICS?

Same here, no mater what I will always go back to stock GB with tweaks, its the fastest by far all Roms, most battery efficient and honestly it feels more like YOURS as u know what u did to it, and not someone else's tweak/mods to it,
