Play store FCs. - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As stated above , my note 2 recently stopped me from downloading anything from the app store. So i cleared the data ,cache and uninstall the updates and made it worst. Now it just force closes. Hence, is there any simpler way to get play store to work again without factory reset?
Your help is much appreciated

There are plenty of PlayStore Zip-files for flashing floating around here in the forums. Did you try that as well? You could also just try to flash your ROM again, without fullwipe, just cache and dalvik.

[Q] epic 4g with cm7 2.3.7 cannot access gmail!

I have just installed cm7 onto my epic 4g. I have been trying to get the stock apps, ie gmail, market, etc.. I love the rom but I guess it didn't come with the bloat ware.. is there anyway to get them? I cannot add a gmail account either, server won't respond.

Don't the instructions mention to flash the gapps? I remember reading that when I installed it. I know there is only a google search link for gapps now. Gapps as in Google Apps.

So I'm using ROM manager and it has the gapps listed however after it finishes I get the options to "Back Up ROM, Wipe Data and Cache and Wipe Dalvik Cache". Is this the proper way to get these apps to work? If so, which option would I choose? I am kinda a noob to roms so this is a little confusing for me.

If you want to backup the ROM then fine, otherwise wipes are not even required. I don't wipe at each upgrade at all. It never hurts anything to wipe Dalvik and cache and can only help.

Ok so I had attempted to back up my ROM however it froze so I had taken the batterie out and now I cannt get into recovery mode at all, it just goes back to that frozen screen where it was attempting to back up the ROM. Any ideas how I can fix that?

So I fixed that but now when I use the market, no app will download due to an unknown error.. any ideas?

Try clearing data in the market app. Use Titanium.

Q: Why am I receiving multiple error messages?

Hi
I am new to the forum, and being the noob that I am would like to ask some help from you guys. I have been receiving multiple error messages ranging from "Unfortunatley, Camera has stopped" to android.process.media has stopped as well. I have tried installing different roms, kernels, fixing the permissions all the way to completely formatting the SD card and using Odin to install the stock ROM again. I am at a loss as to what to do, any help at all would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks for your time!

When I installed the Stock ROM again using Odin, I performed all the steps you listed above before I installed the Rom in a last ditch effort, I will try it again. Thanks for the information, but are there any other suggestions?
I had this problem using tge beats installer from the market. I had to go back to stock and reroot. Doing a factory reset help. If that fails, i noticed uninstalling the failed apps and reinstalling worked but of course doing that for stock apps isnt as easy

Just to a factory reset and then us Odin and if you are using apps that are backed up don't just redownload from play that could be the problem

Aokp Google voice force closing

I got the rom AOKP and when I try to open Google voice it force closes please help I have tried everything and read online and can't figure it out
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
I would. Go into twrp.
Wipe system.
Flash ROM
Flash gapps
Flash any addons you may have (optional)
This should fix your issue.
If not you may be using the wrong gapps.
Just wiping system and then reflashing the same ROM with gapps will not wipe anything. It will act like you never wiped or flash. The second you wipe data or factory reset. Etc. It will lose installed apps. Or data. Or if you wipe data media you will wipe everything. But just invade always back up photos before reflashing.
Another option is to force uninstall via titanium back up Google now. And then installing it from scratch.

I got it u have to go to the play store and serch google voice and update it

I don't know does this help but you can try:
Settings > Apps > all > Google Play services
Wipe cache and data and also updates if update for it exists
then wipe cache and data from Play store and delete updates if updates exists..
and then delete Google account and add account back, then reboot and launch play store
ive already tried the wipe cache and data method still no luck , but ill try the other one you said the account log out and in then reboot , ill inform u if it works , thanks for the help much appreciated

OK, And Np.
If it doesn't work then maybe you should try to flash another ROM or newer version of the ROM if it has Newer version available.
But if something is wrong in Gapps then try other flashable GAPPs I used the Gapps when I tested CM10.1:

I'd suggest you uninstall updates of play store and open play store again. It'll udate automatically in some time.
I guess the guy above has already suggested that you remove updates.

I'm sorry, but isn't this supposed to be in the Q&A forum?
Maybe clearing cache from recovery might help.
Try clearing app data on google play services, play store, gmail, and any other google app that isnt working. This should fix the problem.
If for some reason is doesnt then download the latest gapps for your device and install them through recovery

I have tried all of the ways clearing data in each app, clearing cache in recovery, clearing dalvik cache, flashing latest gapps package. nothing worked. the only solution is to factory reset the phone or reflashing the ROM...
